    Appliance Geek Inc
Excellent. Highly recommended. Asif was prompt with his follow-up and appointment. In all three instances, he made a quick and accurate diagnosis of the problem. In two of the repairs, he had to order parts and was prompt in scheduling the appointment once the part arrived. He was courteous, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend him to anyone. I know how hard it is to find a dependable and reliable contractor, but Appliance Geek was spot on and will get our business for appliance repairs and recommendations to neighbors!

Let me start by saying that if you want your engagement experience to be memorable, read this review, it will be worth your time. I went to buy my engagement ring from Quinn's because my brother has bought his and had a good experience with them. I purchased a engagement ring in June 2015. I ordered a halo ring with a center diamond and accent diamonds on the sides. I can honestly say that the day I purchased the ring was the last positive day I would have with them. After I got the call that my ring was ready, went in to pick it up, the ring was not sized and the accent diamonds were not added. Second trip, the accent diamonds were added, but the ring was not sized. In addition, three sides of the ring had 6 diamonds and one side had seven (WHAT!?). I just had them leave the seventh diamond because there was already a hole where it was supposed to be. Third trip, they finally sized it from a size 7 to 4, which I now understand was a huge mistake by them, as now the integrity of the gold had been compromised. I gave her the ring, then a few weeks later, one of the side diamonds fell out as the gold had cracked. I called Quinns to see what they wanted to do. I ultimately had to take the ring back from my fiance, which is not only totally embarrassing to me, but to her with her friends and family because they keep asking where it is. They agreed to remake the ring properly with the correct number of diamonds on the side. At this point I met with Terry, the owner. I was assured that I would be "well taken care of" should we purchase our wedding bands with them. I got the ring a few weeks later and everything was fine. We begin planning our wedding, and return to Quinn's for our bands, only for the fact that we were going to be taken care of. Something worth mention, one of the co-owners began making statements that given our situation, to do a dual wedding band, if we bought one, we would get one free. I then brought it up when we decided what to purchase, they said they never said that and they could never do that. We got the standard 20% off, and then we only got an additional $100 off on both rings, for a total of $200. So much for being "well taken care of." It was a such a hassle trying to talk to Terry, he was always traveling somewhere and not available. Months later, I eventually gave up because I don't have time to deal with the nonsense and chasing a ghost around for another $200. It was worth it to me to never have to call or deal with them again. People go to a place like Quinn's and pay more for the personalized experience. However, I believe Quinn's has grown too big for themselves. My brother bought his ring when they only had the Occoquan store. The personalized experience is gone. I truly believe you are better off going to a big name jeweler like Zales. I was going to give them two stars because I did get the product and eventually it was perfect, but every time I get upset just thinking about Quinn's. They ruined my once in a lifetime experience, think twice and don't let them ruin yours.

    Old Republic Home Protection
The first time I contacted Old Republic was due to a problem with the HVAC system.  We had to cycle through multiple contractors which were all VERY SKETCHY and wanted cash upfront for the service call fee.  (One contractor even said he would fix the problem on the spot if we gave him cash and he didn't have to deal with Old Republic.)  Each of the contractors showed up with no company identification, and no logos on their vehicles.  When I called for this latest service, I made my concerns known and my file was annotated.  Mind you, each contractor was paid the $75 service call fee even though Old Republic said I only had to pay it one time.
I am now on the second call to Old Republic.  I called yesterday, Memorial Day, because my new LG refrigerator stopped working .  I spoke with Jacob who assured me someone would be out Tuesday, the next business day due to the fact it was after 5 p.m. eastern time and it was a holiday.  At 12:30 p.m. today I called Old Republic and spoke with Nancy.  Nancy was helpful enough and provided me with the name of the company that "accepted" the service call and advised that I should call them because I was without a refrigerator.  At 12:38 I started calling Appliance Geek according to the instructions I received from Nancy.  I continued to call until after 3 p.m. and then called Old Republic back to let them know I was not getting any answer.
This time Mark answered the phone.  I expalined that I have been trying to reach out to their contractor and I only get voice mail.  He said that's not right and asked me to hold on.  I was on hold in excess of 15 minutes and after he came back on the line said he had the same experience.  He then advised that Appliance Geek has 24 hours to respond to the call.  If they do not respond, another contractor would be contacted and the process would have to start all over again.  I asked if it was in writing that the contractor has 24 hours to respond after accepting the call as it is not in my contract.  Mark said it is not in my policy, but it is in their scope of information in their database.  I asked if another contractor could be dispatched and he said no, that I had to wait the 24 hours for Appliance Geek to fulfill their obligation.  I then asked if I could get a list of the contractors with whom they are partnered so I would request a specific contractor based on familiarity and was told they do not share that information.  I was also told I was welcome to use my own contractor, pay in full, then they would reimburse me based on the negotiated rates they currently have in place with their contractors.  I asked how much a service call should run and again, I was told by Mark the information being requested could not be shared with the customer.
As I was getting no where, I finally asked for a supervisor.  I was told someone would call me back so I suggested I hold for the next available supervisor.  I was strongly advised they do not transfer calls to supervisors.  Supervisors call people back based on the order in which the call is received.  I then asked if I had to wait 24 hours and was told that I should receive a call back prior to close of business, pacific time.
Needless to say my refrigerator has been down in excess of 24 hours and I still have yet to hear from the contractor or an Old Republic supervisor.

This job went very well even with a few hiccups that were not the fault of Appliance Connection.

The sales reps were very knowledgeable, listened to my needs, and found a product to fit my needs.

Installation technicians were very polite and professional and skilled at installing the product.

The only issue, which is minute in comparison to the exceptional work performed, is there is a disconnect between the sales reps and the shipping/installation department in communicating when an installation is going to happen.   The sales department gave me an installation date and time but that information was never passed onto the installation team.

After the ice maker stopped working after 5 weeks of troubleshooting, Appliance connection reached out to Frigidaire to have the refrigerator replaced.   Frigidaire (Electrolux) said the malfunctioning ice maker was not reason enough to replace the refrigerator.
Amazingly  Appliance Connection, acknowledged the refrigerator was defective and took it upon themselves to replace the refrigerator with any other brand than Frigidaire.

    Bradlee Shoe Repair
Upon entering the store I couldn't get beyond the piles and piles of shoes in the customre area. On the floor some piles were estimated to be 4 feet tall and stacked like firewood. Shoes stacked on the counter leaving a small area for the customer. Shoes stacked behind the customer area. There was a sliding closet door that was off the track and precariously leaned into the closet which was filled with more unsorted items. The beige waiting chairs, which may have been white at one time, had many dried stains and did not look inviting.
There was a customer before me and the clerk was having difficulty finding his shoes. Which wasn't a surprise to me with all the junk stacked every where.
I left not wanting them to fix my shoes because of the junk piled everywhere and the previous customer having trouble claiming his item.

When I called the AA-1 Repairs in Woodbridge, Va. for the appointment, I told the scheduling person what I thought was wrong with my dryer.  I knew what parts were needed because I looked it up on the internet.  I could have ordered the parts online, but I wasn't sure I could install them.  So I made an appointment for the next day.  My appointment was for between 4pm and 7pm.  I was told over the phone, after I asked, that there was a $49.99 service charge just to come out, but if they fixed the problem, there would be no service charge.  Then men came around 6:15.   The parts I told them were bad, were exactly the ones that were bad.  The man told me it would be $187 and change to repair.  I asked him to itemize it because I knew the parts were under $50.  He said there was a $49.99 service charge.  I told him what the man on the phone told me and he said that was not true.  I said if it wasn't true, then why did they tell me that.  He called someone at the store.  This man told him that he was to charge me the service charge.  The repairman at my house, handed me the phone and told me to talk to him.  I explained everything again, and he told me I was wrong that I wasn't told that.  I told him that was fine but I would not be using his repairmen to repair the dryer because I could get the parts online and do it myself.  He said the parts you get online are from China and they are no good.  He said his store does not buy online parts, they only but good parts.  He told me to pay his repairman the service charge of $49.99.  I told him I would not because I diagnosed my own problem and I was lied to about the service charge.  He said he would bill me and if I didn't pay, he would take me to court.  At this point, the repairman took the phone back, spoke to the man at the store in a foreign language, then told me they would repair the dryer with no service charge.  I had been warned in advance, that this company does things like this.
