    I used the Angie's List Big Deal for the $59 maintenance check. Shawn was the technician who came out and performed the service. He was very thorough and explained everything he was doing. This was actually the second time Shawn had been out to the house. He had been out to the house in the fall for my humidifier yearly maintenance. Both times he has been extremely friendly and professional, and certainly knowledgeable. I highly recommend Fire & Ice and Shawn in particular.

    Old Republic Home Protection
    The first time I contacted Old Republic was due to a problem with the HVAC system.  We had to cycle through multiple contractors which were all VERY SKETCHY and wanted cash upfront for the service call fee.  (One contractor even said he would fix the problem on the spot if we gave him cash and he didn't have to deal with Old Republic.)  Each of the contractors showed up with no company identification, and no logos on their vehicles.  When I called for this latest service, I made my concerns known and my file was annotated.  Mind you, each contractor was paid the $75 service call fee even though Old Republic said I only had to pay it one time.
    I am now on the second call to Old Republic.  I called yesterday, Memorial Day, because my new LG refrigerator stopped working .  I spoke with Jacob who assured me someone would be out Tuesday, the next business day due to the fact it was after 5 p.m. eastern time and it was a holiday.  At 12:30 p.m. today I called Old Republic and spoke with Nancy.  Nancy was helpful enough and provided me with the name of the company that "accepted" the service call and advised that I should call them because I was without a refrigerator.  At 12:38 I started calling Appliance Geek according to the instructions I received from Nancy.  I continued to call until after 3 p.m. and then called Old Republic back to let them know I was not getting any answer.
    This time Mark answered the phone.  I expalined that I have been trying to reach out to their contractor and I only get voice mail.  He said that's not right and asked me to hold on.  I was on hold in excess of 15 minutes and after he came back on the line said he had the same experience.  He then advised that Appliance Geek has 24 hours to respond to the call.  If they do not respond, another contractor would be contacted and the process would have to start all over again.  I asked if it was in writing that the contractor has 24 hours to respond after accepting the call as it is not in my contract.  Mark said it is not in my policy, but it is in their scope of information in their database.  I asked if another contractor could be dispatched and he said no, that I had to wait the 24 hours for Appliance Geek to fulfill their obligation.  I then asked if I could get a list of the contractors with whom they are partnered so I would request a specific contractor based on familiarity and was told they do not share that information.  I was also told I was welcome to use my own contractor, pay in full, then they would reimburse me based on the negotiated rates they currently have in place with their contractors.  I asked how much a service call should run and again, I was told by Mark the information being requested could not be shared with the customer.
    As I was getting no where, I finally asked for a supervisor.  I was told someone would call me back so I suggested I hold for the next available supervisor.  I was strongly advised they do not transfer calls to supervisors.  Supervisors call people back based on the order in which the call is received.  I then asked if I had to wait 24 hours and was told that I should receive a call back prior to close of business, pacific time.  
    Needless to say my refrigerator has been down in excess of 24 hours and I still have yet to hear from the contractor or an Old Republic supervisor.

    Excellent. We own a 5 yr old 2600 sq foot townhome and McCrea has been serving the homes HVAC system since the beginning. In fact I think they were the company that installed the system for the builder. They installed a humidifier several years ago and that has worked great during the winter months. They are always great to deal with, very professional but Dennis McGuckin, who has been out several times is our favorite. He is very friendly and  knowledgeable and one of their best.

    Snell Heating and AC contacted me promptly to set up the service date, they left me a message on my phone. I called back but the Customer Service person that left the message was not there. The person I talked to at that time said he could help... but once I gave my address he stated that he didn't think that they serviced my area. He said he would check and have the first person (female) call me back to make sure. She called me back the next day and did confirm that they do not service my area and apologized for any inconvenience. The were both very professional and pleasant.

    Nine years ago, we purchased the Xfinity heat pump from Brennan's and entered into their service program, an arrangement that will be difficult to find again. My husband and I are retiring to North Carolina this summer. Because he was in the military, this will be our 20th move. Through the years, we've dealt with varied companies in multiple locations. Brennan's is the most professional, best managed company we've encountered. The technicians are trained and certified and very proud of their profession, qualities evident in their professionalism, confidence, efficiency, and ability to handle every heat pump's needs. Even more, in this day and age of abruptness, the technicians and office personnel (for when one schedules appointments) are courteous and cheerful. My husband and I can't recommend this company enough. Wish we could take Brennan's with us!

    We had an issue with a fireplace that was installed by someone else. Nice Home Services said that we had to remove the fireplace completely and reinstall it for $3500. They sent 1 tech out to take a look. I went back to the original company who said that Nice was just trying to sell us a new fireplace. We're bringing a third company for another look.

    The two gentlemen were very professional and explained the process and what I could expect. Having just had surgery, they went out of their way to get my room in the house done first so I could continue to rest. They pointed out some issues in the duct work that happened during the house build and pointed out a hole in my dryer connection that was allowing hot air and lint to collect behind my gas dryer (not safe!!).

    Steve was the primary technician and is extremely professional. He did an excellent job explaining how he intended to run the cable. He pointed out the entry and exit points for the cable and made sure I was ok with where holes would be made (and covered). There was hardly any mess, yet the technicians were all very purposeful in cleaning up after themselves without me asking...and despite my suggestions that I didn't mind doing it myself. Just all around great and professional guys. I'd use this company for sure!

    The technician was very professional and respectful.  We had A LOT of contractors and work going on, as I was in the midst of water mitigation for a second burst pipe.  He was able to to quickly determine the issue and make suggestions.  Due to the state of the home at the time, priority was put towards the rebuild, but I will definitely contact Pope as soon as I am ready to start the HVAC updates / repairs.
