    4 Service Pros
Needed an electrician to come out to home to install lights and look at outlets, etc. Sean came out from 4-Service Pros and was absolutely fantastic. Not only did he address all my concerns and fixed everything, but he went the extra mile and fixed a complex handle situation on my storm door! He takes his time, uses his top-notch skills, and fixes the problem. I think he is wonderful, talented, and will definitely ask for him by name the next time. JHunt

    Two By Four Construction LLC
From the moment I bought the coupon, Two by Four Construction contacted me almost immediately and found out the work I needed done.  I spoke with Gary, I explained what I wanted done and he explained to me what I needed to have for the guys to do the work.  This made the process much more efficient.  The day the work was to be done Dale showed up right on time and I went over what I wanted done.  He informed me I had picked up a wrong part and showed me what exactly I needed.  While I ran to the store he got right to work on my main project.  When I arrived back, RJ (I think, I'm bad with names) was there to start on the other projects.  All the work was done to my satisfaction.  The guys were awesome at answering any questions I had.  I definitely got my moneys worth out that deal.  I will be using Two by Four Construction again for whatever my next project is.

    Long's Corp
I had a new kitchen faucet I was going to install myself, but then a serious leak developed under the sink, and being unable to do that sort of work right at this moment, I hired Long's Corp to do the repair and faucet install.   I bought an Angie's List deal ($300 for $200) on Friday and got a response on Monday, and I scheduled the work for Wednesday.   Richard called me at a half hour before my service window (9 am to 12 pm) to tell me Lawrence was on his way.  Lawrence arrived at about 9:30 and quickly determined that I needed a new garbage disposal.   He was very professional and fast.  He had to make some changes --an air gap was where the new sprayer was going and he had to go out and get a part for the disposal--but he was still done in about two to three hours.  Also, my new faucet is a high-arc style, and it bumped up against the bar-height counter behind the sink, so Lawrence thought he would have to install it slightly in front of the faucet well on the sink.  However,  in the end, he managed to place it exactly where it belonged.  Overall, the actual process was painless, and Lawrence was a very pleasant person to deal with.

My only quibble is with the cost.  I'll admit that I am annoyed that I had to hire anyone to do these repairs rather than do them myself, which is obviously my problem and not Long's Corp's.  Also, I know that I could have hired a general handyman to do these repairs, surely for less, but I really didn't want to hire a handyman to this work as a first job.  And, obviously, I agreed to the cost.  However, the total bill without the deal was $933, so $833 with the $100 deal savings.  The breakdown was $373 for the install of a faucet I already had, so that's $373 for one hour's labor.  The garbage disposal install was $455.  It would have been about $385 if I had had the disposal, so the price for the garbage disposal was about $70 (very reasonable), and the labor was $385, again for about an hour's work.  Then, the extra part was $105.  I think these costs are high.  Some garbage disposal parts are expensive, but that is more than the cost of the disposal!  Also, almost $400 per hour in labor?  Maybe these prices are standard for quality plumbers.  However, while I certainly recommend Long's Corp. for the quality of their service, under other circumstances, I would only go to them for an obviously complex plumbing issue beyond my and a good handyman's capabilities.

    Murphy Family Services
The housing inspector had pinged several things that led me to believe I had serious electrical problems. However, when Victor called me en route to my condo, his infectious, positive personality calmed my nervousness. After asking me specific questions about what the problems were, he said they could be easily handled. They were! Victor knew he was on the clock and worked efficiently with a professional's eye -- he's been doing this for 12 years and knows his stuff, no doubt about it.
A bit more: I'm terrified of electrical problems, even worse, this fear has led to a lack of knowledge about what needs to be done, leading to another fear I could be taken advantage of. Victor's upfront knowledge about what needed to be done before he came to the house and his amazing people skills (my husband also thought he was a great guy) put a nice smile on a stressful housing inspection. I'm sure Murphy Family Electric employs other qualified electricians, but ask for Victor (the older one, as there are two).

    Walls Electrical Service Inc
The installation went very well. The company sent a very articulate and extremely knowledgeable representative (Brian) to scope out the work prior to the scheduled installation. The flow of the conversation put me immediately at ease since the work was being done in my newly built home. Brian informed me up front that the work may result in an extra cut or two in the drywall which would result in additional cost to repair (not good news at all, but at least he told me up front!). Brian then took the time to explore various options with me (as I was looking to avoid extra cuts and extra costs) and we came up with a solution that was free of extra cuts and extra cost.
When the two technicians came out a week or so later, they were prompt, professional and took the time to ensure I understood what was to be done and how. The company was 3 for 3 in sending men who were kind enough to indulge my questions. The two gentleman were just as considerate as Brian and it was extremely cool being informed by the two installers with the same conversational flow and consideration as Brian. It seemed important to all 3 representatives that I clearly understood and was in agreement with the work to be done. So very awesome!!!
In addition to the technicians, the women in the office were kind, funny, and professional. Service matters to the folk at Walls Electrical. I would use them again in a minute!!!

    Two By Four Construction LLC
I purchased a coupon through Angie's list. Prior to my service date, I sent a list of things I needed to have done after closing on my house. There was no initial visit to my house and no indication that everything on the list couldn't be accomplished in the purchased time. I was unfamiliar with what materials were needed, and sent several emails which were never answered and left phone messages which were not returned.  Workers showed up to my house and I had to use labor hours to drive to the store with a worker to purchase materials.
They proceeded to go through my list and tell me that nearly none of the items could be done.  Nearly everything that couldn't be done was due to a lack of available materials - all of which could have been solved if any of my emails or phone calls had been responded to.
I paid for $1500 for 36 hours of work.  In that 36 hours the ONLY things that was done was hanging two hallway lights.  THAT IS IT.
I called and spoke to the owner of the company who said that my experience was unacceptable.  He instructed me that the workers would return and finish any projects that were not done.  One man showed up a few days later and was extremely, extremely aggressive and rude.  He yelled at me for calling to complain and said he wasn't being paid for the work he would do that day.  He refused to speak to me or discuss what needed to be done.  He opened a can of paint and destroyed the beadboard in my bathroom and stomped out of the house.  No further contact with the company could be made (they use a phone service).
In fact, so many things were halfway or incorrectly done, I am now having to pay to have them corrected.  I have a ceiling light that was hung and a huge hole left in the ceiling, a sliding glass door installed upside down, a front door with one horrible layer of latex paint on it, destroyed beadboard, paint stained walls and sink, and two unfinished shelves in a pantry.
I would NEVER want anyone else to experience the unprofessional and sub-standard work provided by this company.

    Executive Improvements
I could not have asked for more! Executive Improvements went above and beyond what any other company has done for me in the past, from the professionalism of his workers to the amount of time spent on little details this is one company not to pass up. Work is being completed on schedule as promised and has stayed on budget throughout. The custom work Executive Improvements provides is second to none, they were able to save me money by painting my railing instead of replacing it giving an ultra modern look which is the direction of the style of my home. Their attention to detail made my railing and staircase look completely different, my mouth dropped when I walked in the first time. This company is all about the custom work and the inlay they placed around my fireplace looks amazing, they helped me pick out everything and I doubt my house would look as good as it does without their help. Consulting is something other companies would charge for and Executive Improvements did not, I could not be happier with pricing as well. Being as cheap as I am there was no doubt I was going to check their prices and I found them to be fair and honest. It is difficult to find a fair and honest construction company that does great work at a good price and this is one company I will continue to use and rave about. They will definitely be at the top of my list when I need work to be completed on my home in the future.

    Root Electric
Had to replace a GFCI Outlet in the garage. It was an easy job and they
took care of it quickly and it cost on $100.00 for the service visit and
parts. I like dealing with a local small business and not some national
or regional chain. Will go back to Root anytime I need electrical

    Craft Electric
Although the problem was not complex and something I could have done myself, I just couldn't find the time. Mr. Craft arrived on time (early actually, which worked out fine for me). He was very pleasant and professional and worked methodically. It took him about an hour to find and fix the problem, which was surely a lot less time than it would have taken me because it was not at all obvious. He then answered a couple of random questions I had about a couple of other concerns that I may need looked at in the future, which he did not have to do. I will definitely use him for future electrical work.

Brian M Sperty - Kitchen & Bath Specialist
I contacted Brian for an estimate after reviewing comments. He was responsive, arriving at the house within days after discussing project on the phone. He understood the scope of the job and his quote was very fair. Throughout the process, he was easy to reach either via phone or e-mail . There were delays on our part (Home Depot forgot to order several integral cabinet parts) so when it was time to start up again, it was easy to reach him and schedule work times. His staff is professional, communicative, accommodating and experienced--offering suggestions and tips to improve the overall design. I appreciated that they insured that inconveniences like no sink, no microwave, etc. were kept to a minimum. Kitchen area was cleaned well after each work day. We're thrilled with the results--a kitchen face-lift that's earning lots of compliments!
