    Zippy Shell Storage and Moving
Packing up, team was punctual, professional, careful with our furniture and had a great attitude. Since we had to fill three pods, they were very diligent with their time and effort and got two pods fully loaded and carried away before mid-afternoon. They left the third pod partially loaded (per our request) allowing us to fill it with more boxes and items we didn't have time to stage. They picked it up on time two days later. Moving in (5 months later) everything was unloaded quickly and staged in our new home per our directions. They unwrapped our furniture and moved it where we wanted it. Again the crew was very efficient and professional. No damages, no breakage, nothing missing.

    Potomac Moving Company
Had a lot of stuff [90+ boxes] plus furniture and other stuff to be moved from a condo to a house 70 mi away. Jeff and his two skilled compatriots (after several confirmations and instructional emails he sent days and weeks earlier) arrived right on time, with large truck, ready to make it happen. And they did. They worked faster -- with skill and respect for objects being moved -- than any movers I've used in the past. They also were ready to repack or protect any objects improperly prepared for the journey. Their quickness, and fairness on pricing, made this a headspinning (favorably) experience, Blink and the move was already over! Would use them again in a minute. Was quoted by several other moving firms in the $2000 to $3000 range. Potomac Movers would not give me a firm quote but based it on time, which had me worried -- with a delivery 70 mi away -- it could end up higher than the other quotes. As it turned out, they were 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of other firms. Am glad I trusted them.

    Carmack Moving & Storage
So far, the move has gone well. The packing crew arrived on time on a Friday morning and completed the packing very quickly. The moving crew arrived the next morning exactly on schedule. All of our items were packed into crates and then transported to storage. Again, this phase also went well. Everything that was to be transported to storage was, and everything that was not to be stored was not. We put as much as possible into closets and alerted the crews that these items were not to be packed or moved, and they followed those directions. The final phase of the move will not occur for a few months, but based upon the results so far, I expect everything to go smoothly. I'll provide an update in a few months.

Very well. Items were very professionally packed and everything arrived in great condition. We ended up storing our items with themover for longer than anticipated, which ran upthe cost exponentially. Cost listed below is for the move only minus thsstorage costs. We hada full household of heavy furniture and many boxes.

    Affordable Pro Movers
They confirmed the night before that they would be there at 8 AM Sunday morning as I needed to get the move done in the morning. They didn't show up. They didn't even call to say they were late. When I called the guy who arranged the date and time, he said it was out of his hands and that the manager was in charge. The company representative literally washed his hands of the matter even though he was the very guy who texted me to confirm the arrangements. And the manager on duty that day would not work things out. When I tried to rearrange my schedule to accommodate them, the manager would not even return my call. Their attitude seems to be that they will show up at a time that is convent for them regardless of what they promised and perhaps might not even show up at all and if you don't like it, that's too bad. Entirely unreliable and unprofessional. Any other mover is better than this.

    Donation Nation Inc
Perfectly! The truck arrived with three men who lifted and moved some very heavy, bulky items--efficiently and, dare I say, happily. Nothing seemed too arduous, too difficult to get to. (Soooo nice to get rid of all the gallon paint-cans and other hard-to-dispose-of products!) And their calculation of costs and value was ideal for tax-purposes.

    Potomac Moving Company
The movers wrapped furniture, padded entrance door, protected floors and moved heavy items very carefully up to 2nd story rooms with no damage to any items. Jeff, the owner, was very professional with good follow up and pricing. Movers arrived early within time frame given. We where able to purchase tape and extra moving supplies directly from them as needed. The actual move time using 2 men was 3hrs. We would definitely use this moving company again should need arise.

    Two Men and a Truck
The movers worked hard, and every leg occurred as planned. However a lot of damage was done to our belongings. We took out the comprehensive coverage to insure our move and submitted a claim. Damage was done by the trucks to our asphalt driveway, several wooden furniture pieces were damaged, and some of our natural stone topped items were damaged. I submitted a claim with details and pictured for each damaged piece and have been working with the claims department since the move. I was asked for an estimate on the cash value of my damaged pieces, but they opted to send a worker out to repair things instead of paying the estimated amount. A few of the furniture pieces were repaired quite nicely but the main item, an antique white set that included a bed and dresser was damaged. They didn't install the bed properly (and lost the screws to it) and the dark blue dye from the moving blankets used heavily stained the dresser. The dresser top and drawers were taken to a furniture repair facility that was to restain/paint the dresser to fix the blue damage. I was told it would take about 5 days to complete the work. It took nearly 7 weeks and what I received was a different color (overly yellow) that no longer matched the bed. I complained and escalated the issue and was told that they could paint it again but were unwilling to do anything further to fix the issue. I was also told that they would pay $250 toward a $1500 asphalt repair bill and that they would not repair the damaged marble because it was a natural stone with natural faults (yet their technician attempted to repair it with chemicals and advised me to call the office because he could not successfully repair it). I would caution anyone that cares about their belongings, and values customer service to use ANYONE other than this company. Moves are stressful enough and to add the lingering impact of fighting for repairs after paying the extra money for insurance is just not worth it.

    Commonwealth Movers
Pick up was the 23rd of May last year and delivery was about a couple weeks later. They were very, very good. The price was very good too, give them the max on that. We researched it before we had it done. There were cheaper firms, but they didn’t look all that trustworthy. This was one of the top firms. I think they were very good for price. “A’s” across the board!

While I did not choose this company, their professionalism and willingness to explain everything to me was outstanding. Their rates were competitive as well. I would recommend people to check them out.
