    Hall's Landscaping
Hall's landscaping cleaned up our exterior- they got rid of weeds, took out all dead plants, trimmed bushes, removed all debris, dead leaves etc. They then spread a nice thick layer of mulch on. They completed the work in a timely manner and were very polite and helpful. I had used them once before about 5 years ago but misplaced the information. I won't be doing that again, as they really provide the best value and the best service.

    Green Earth Landscaping LLC
We hired Green Earth Landscaping/VirginiaPonds.com in Sept 2018 to build a backyard fish pond. We are disappointed with how the project turned out, we have had multiple waterfall leaks, they punctured the liner twice & we found that the company had issues with communication, time management, customer satisfaction, including sloppy work & dishonesty at times. The project was planned for 3 days & was not finished the first time until 8 business days later. After leaks & issues it took 4 mos total before it was 'done'; however it still wasn't complete & didn't meet the contract. They punctured the liner in 2 places (& did not disclose 1 patch which gave us problems in March 2019). They had to rebuild part of the waterfall that was leaking & we have just discovered that the waterfall is STILL leaking (April, 2019). To remedy the depth building issues their only solution was to raise the pond liner straight up around the exterior of the pond & leave the liner exposed (~15 feet). My husband spent at least 2 weeks fixing the pond to raise the water level and remove the tripping hazards and repair our yard. We bought at least 100 bags of top soil, bought & spread new grass seed, bought & installed at least $300 of rock to remedy the tripping hazard around the pond & raise the water level. The first time the pond was filled the water was very murky. Owner stated they had washed the rocks & anything remaining would settle & be fine. After weeks of not settling & a few times asking, they finally cleaned the gravel during the pond patch repair. Prior to that I could see the layers of dirt on the rocks and theres no way they washed it on the first day & left that much muck remaining. DESIGN: We requested & received a 10x20 pond w/ a waterfall. We wanted a fish pond & were left w/ a water garden. There are two 4'x10' wide shelves on the left & right sides of the pond. The front & back shelves are 2' wide connecting those 4' shelves. Pond was intended for fish & we have 4 fish that are 2 long. We are left w/ a 4x8 second depth of the pond (minus 2' for big rocks) so 2'x6' for fish & plants to winter. The left side of the pond ranged from almost 8 to ~10 (but 3'x10' of it is 8"). My husband had to move the skimmer door & overflow valve to get it from 7 to 7.75 inches deep (why didn't they notice the lack of depth or move the skimmer?). During construction & after the shelves were built the owner told us the pond would be 12 deep all around. When I complained about the finished depth of 8" he said that Aquascape says it only needs to be 8-10 so this is "done" (even though he promised & thought it would be 12). The 8-10 (mostly 8") is on a 4' shelf, not a standard 8-12 wide shelf. The 8-10 depth is unacceptable considering the shelf size. Multiple other contractors who saw the pond told us we have an "ornamental pond" not a pond for fish. The owner also told us the 2' wide shelf they created is required per Aquascape guidelines, which is not accurate. To get 8 deep on the left side of the pond the owner had to come back multiple times to pull up liner, leaving the liner straight up in the air (exposed). He stated this is a finished product (which is in violation of the contract). Owner told me they would use the gate near the pond & would lay plywood to protect the lawn. This was far from true. The equipment was HUGE & they had to use the far gate, destroying 1/2 of our backyard & a path in the front. We paid extra for excavation (b/c of a hill), but the pond wasn't dug deep enough. We paid extra for dirt removal, but they left at least 1/3 of the dirt to fill the torn-up yard & we still had to buy 100 bags of top soil to fill in all the ruts & unevenness of the yard. I constantly had to reach out for a status. If the owner said they were coming tomorrow, they wouldn't show up & it would be another week or more until someone showed up. This is about half the issues we had over the course of those many months.

    C Dod Landscaping, Inc
It went exceedingly well. From the moment that I requested a proposal from Chuck Dod to the completion of the job, he was very helpful in all respects, and managed the job entirely to my satisfaction. He was very helpful in providing information I needed to make choices about materials and design. Unlike so many contractors, he visited the site to review the ongoing work nearly every working day. With all the rain we experienced in the Fall of 2018, it was a challenge for him to keep the project moving on a timely basis. Even so, the workers did their best to work around the rainy days as best they could. I was incredibly impressed with their "can do" attitude. C. Dod Landscaping has worked for me in the past, so I had a knowledge of their ability to perform well. This current project was an unqualified success, and I would have hired them again. I do not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone needing a hardscape/landscape contractor.

    Bonilla Tree Service
Excellent. The crew of six arrived on time, were professional, knowledgeable, safe and completed the job in approx. 6 hrs. They arrived with 4 trucks and had the latest tools and equipment. To minimize any lawn damage they put down pastic arerated 4x8 mats. Their cleanup was great. This is the 3rd time I've used them and will use them again.

    Groff Landscape Design LLC
I hired Groff Landscape Design to design and install a landscape plan for the entire front and back yard. Robert and Sean were amazing to work with. They were able to design and execute the project in two phases to keep it both as cost effective and aesthetically pleasing as possible. We started with phase one - which included a large deck and shade structure, extensive trees/plantings, lighting, irrigation, drainage, and a vegetable garden. From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. During the installation I was always made aware of the schedule and the work to be completed. The installation crew was incredibly professional and experienced, and did an excellent job keeping the job site clean each and every day. Overall Robert Groff and his entire team take tremendous pride in their work and their customer service, and really go above and beyond. I am so thrilled with how phase one turned out. I can't wait to work on phase two of the project!

    GROUND EFFECTS Landscape Construction Inc.
Due to intense summer heat and rainy spring of 2018 in Oakton, VA, the schedule slipped. Mother Nature cannot be managed! The church would hire Ground Effects again, and highly recommend Josh and Mary.

    Lito's Tree Service & Landscaping
He was good. He has been working on our property and our neighbors property. Somehow, Angies List thinks he may be out of business. That may be because the number here is wrong... Here it is: Lito's Landscaping and Tree Services [Office: 703-433-0408; cell: 703-395-9470]

    Four Brothers Tree & Landscaping
The tree removal was fine, but landscaping was awful. First of all, it took forever for them to give me a date to come out and do the work. They tried to plant a brown azalea, telling me it was just out of season and it would be fine "next year." I had to go to my local nursery to buy a gorgeous and thriving azalea. I was hiring them to make my garden look beautiful, not for them to plant "spent" azaleas. It was in the spring when azaleas are in full bloom. To top it off, the garden got completely overrun with weeds in a very short time. I am not sure what they used, but I have also never had problems like that in my garden before when I have used other landscapers.

    Mottern Masonry Design
Could not be more pleased with the job Mottern did. The whole experience from estimate (responded quickly to our request and provided a competitive bid), to the work done (design, construction, interaction with the crew), through billing was excellent. The walkway looks terrific !

Rodney Booth Junk & Trash Removal Baltimore
Five-star service. The project was completed within 2 hrs. He's very efficient, professional and quick. You call him up and he slides you into his schedule. He arrives at the hour he promises. He's reliable and dependable. If you look at the quality of service, its worth the price which isn't too expensive but not too cheap. I would hire him again because he's done work for me twice.
