    Bright Construction Group
Bright Construction did a great job. They worked with us to understand what we needed and provided a very clear and reasonable quote. Their scheduling team was friendly and got us scheduled quickly. The crew did an excellent job. Our driveway looks great and they were done in the timeframe promised. I was very impressed with their professionalism and would definitely use them again!

    Green Earth Landscaping LLC
We hired Green Earth Landscaping/VirginiaPonds.com in Sept 2018 to build a backyard fish pond. We are disappointed with how the project turned out, we have had multiple waterfall leaks, they punctured the liner twice & we found that the company had issues with communication, time management, customer satisfaction, including sloppy work & dishonesty at times. The project was planned for 3 days & was not finished the first time until 8 business days later. After leaks & issues it took 4 mos total before it was 'done'; however it still wasn't complete & didn't meet the contract. They punctured the liner in 2 places (& did not disclose 1 patch which gave us problems in March 2019). They had to rebuild part of the waterfall that was leaking & we have just discovered that the waterfall is STILL leaking (April, 2019). To remedy the depth building issues their only solution was to raise the pond liner straight up around the exterior of the pond & leave the liner exposed (~15 feet). My husband spent at least 2 weeks fixing the pond to raise the water level and remove the tripping hazards and repair our yard. We bought at least 100 bags of top soil, bought & spread new grass seed, bought & installed at least $300 of rock to remedy the tripping hazard around the pond & raise the water level. The first time the pond was filled the water was very murky. Owner stated they had washed the rocks & anything remaining would settle & be fine. After weeks of not settling & a few times asking, they finally cleaned the gravel during the pond patch repair. Prior to that I could see the layers of dirt on the rocks and theres no way they washed it on the first day & left that much muck remaining. DESIGN: We requested & received a 10x20 pond w/ a waterfall. We wanted a fish pond & were left w/ a water garden. There are two 4'x10' wide shelves on the left & right sides of the pond. The front & back shelves are 2' wide connecting those 4' shelves. Pond was intended for fish & we have 4 fish that are 2 long. We are left w/ a 4x8 second depth of the pond (minus 2' for big rocks) so 2'x6' for fish & plants to winter. The left side of the pond ranged from almost 8 to ~10 (but 3'x10' of it is 8"). My husband had to move the skimmer door & overflow valve to get it from 7 to 7.75 inches deep (why didn't they notice the lack of depth or move the skimmer?). During construction & after the shelves were built the owner told us the pond would be 12 deep all around. When I complained about the finished depth of 8" he said that Aquascape says it only needs to be 8-10 so this is "done" (even though he promised & thought it would be 12). The 8-10 (mostly 8") is on a 4' shelf, not a standard 8-12 wide shelf. The 8-10 depth is unacceptable considering the shelf size. Multiple other contractors who saw the pond told us we have an "ornamental pond" not a pond for fish. The owner also told us the 2' wide shelf they created is required per Aquascape guidelines, which is not accurate. To get 8 deep on the left side of the pond the owner had to come back multiple times to pull up liner, leaving the liner straight up in the air (exposed). He stated this is a finished product (which is in violation of the contract). Owner told me they would use the gate near the pond & would lay plywood to protect the lawn. This was far from true. The equipment was HUGE & they had to use the far gate, destroying 1/2 of our backyard & a path in the front. We paid extra for excavation (b/c of a hill), but the pond wasn't dug deep enough. We paid extra for dirt removal, but they left at least 1/3 of the dirt to fill the torn-up yard & we still had to buy 100 bags of top soil to fill in all the ruts & unevenness of the yard. I constantly had to reach out for a status. If the owner said they were coming tomorrow, they wouldn't show up & it would be another week or more until someone showed up. This is about half the issues we had over the course of those many months.

    Cyrus Construction LP
Two people came for estimate. That went fine. Russell seemed professional and responsive. The estimate came about a week later. Unlike the other estimates I received, it was unclear what the costs were related to. There was not even a rough diagram of the work to be done. I wrote to ask for clarification but did not receive a reply. I decided to go with another company that provided a clear estimate. The estimate amounts were almost exactly the same.

    NV Waterproofing & Foundation Repair
Had several cracks in a basement wall from the earthquake back in 2011. Rich Oliver came out on Aug. 29, 2018 and did a resin injection repair. He came right on time, was very nice to deal with and I haven't had a leak since. Cost was $900.00 These people are great.

    GROUND EFFECTS Landscape Construction Inc.
Due to intense summer heat and rainy spring of 2018 in Oakton, VA, the schedule slipped. Mother Nature cannot be managed! The church would hire Ground Effects again, and highly recommend Josh and Mary.

M&D Home Repairs & Remodeling LLC
We've interviewed multiple contractors, but when I called Ivan and quickly realized that his team is what we need - someone who can perform multiple tasks within short period of time. What we really valued: if Ivan promised something he will definitely deliver on time with the highest quality. His team is amazing and they earn every cent with their hard and honest work. We are very impressed with their honesty and professionalism, the area where they worked was always clean after they were finished for the day. Everyone who came to see our completed projects complemented their work. We would certainly recommend this great team to anyone!

    Basement Masters Waterproofing
When it rains heavily, we had water collected on the basement floor. We suspect water was seeping from crack on the floor, and worried it was hydrostatic pressure pushing water up from the ground. Randall came in to do an inspection. He was very knowledgeable and honest. He suspected the cause was rain water came through the footer or the door sweep, instead of the costly hydrostatis pressure problem; and told me how to test and fix it. Randall was very knowledgeable, and I really appreciate his honesty.

    American Plumbing Inc
having discovered a leak in our water supply line, I called several plumbing companies, including American Plumbing. Dan gave me a very good proposal the same day. Dan and his team arrived on time the following business day. In 3 hours, they had dug two holes (one at the curb, the other near the house), replaced the water line, and put water back in service. They came back the following day after inspection and refilled the holes. I highly recommend American Plumbing. Thank you for a great job at a very good price!

    Virginia Home Remodel LLC
David and Ramiro were great to work with. This project was BIG to say the least, and David did a great job of managing it. While the overall time frame took a little longer that expected, David was good about communicating any issues that arose and working to fix them in a timely manner. The quality of the work that was done was excellent, and we couldn't be happier with the end result. David has a lot of integrity, and if he gives his word that something will be done he will make sure he sees it through to completion. Not only did Virginia Home remodel give us a beautiful home to live in, they also added equity to our fixer upper and for that we will always be grateful. We have two additional bathrooms that we did not get to in the first reno and we would strongly consider bringing Virginia Home Remodel back to do these at a later date.

    Value Dry Waterproofing
We chose Value Dry to wrap the unfinished portion of our basement, address a leak where our water line entered the house, and repair our sump pump. A colleague recommended them to us, and we liked their proposal the best among those we obtained. They did a nice job overall, stayed on schedule, and cleaned things up after they were done. We would use them again for this type of work.
