    FitnessBetter Assemblers
Adam arrived on the day and time promised. Diagnosed the problem and when he left all seemed OK. A week or so later the machine stated to make the same noises. Adam can back, checked out, and recommended some parts. I ordered the parts and set up a time for him to come back and install. In the interim the machine started to make another loud noise. Adam again diagnosed the new issue and later sent a parts list. After reviewing this and the previous cost I decided that it was not worth the repair.

Outstanding and totally professional service.  Initial appointment to tune treadmill and help me to order parts from an online retailer.
The technician, Ofir, didn't even charge me for the second appointment when it turned out additional parts were needed.  After all the parts were at my house, Ofir returned and went out of his way to get the job done right, quickly, and for a very reasonable price.
Throughout the entire process, Ofir kept helping me to balance the cost of repairs vs. the cost of buying a new treadmill--it was not in his interest to do this, but he did it anyway.  I ended up getting the repairs done, my treadmill is running perfectly, and I highly recommend Avalanche Tech Services.

It is a little expensive for a family. The best thing is that you get to know people The worst thing is you only have X amount of guest passes per year. That is the only thing that s*cks.

Fabulous! The trainer that was assigned to me, she absolutely was able to train me for my specific needs.  The owner hires people who are really well trained in the business. Jessica Storm is the owner and Amber is my specific trainer. There are great people on her team including trainers and a nutritionist. They are all certified personal trainers.

    The Womens Club
I enjoy working out at the Women's Club for many reasons. First, it's nice that the membership is comprised of women only. The front desk/managerial staff is friendly. There are a variety of free weights and different types of fitness machines (both weights and cardio) to use. They add new equipment every now and then to keep things up to date. The interior recently went thru an extensive renovation so the atmosphere is very pleasant. The gym is usually quite clean. I like many of the fitness classes. There are different class offerings to suit your taste. I prefer more traditional classes like body shaping, yoga, and Pilates. Some of the instructors are pretty good and others are great! Management solicits your opinion from time to time, so they are interested in your input. I pay approx $70/month.

The gym is  a pretty good value.

Over the past year or so, it has been cleaner.

However, too many times they have cut the staff too much and there are weights all over the place.

It would be nice if there was someone to enforce the do not drop weights policy-

especially when a yoga class is being taught.

There seems to be problems with paper supplies; often no tissues.

Also, they seem to have too many problems getting classes scheduled.

Mixed experience. The staff is really good. All good folks. They do, though, tend to favor and quot;their kindand quot; of customer. (Hint: If you're not built like an offensive lineman or linebacker, this wouldn't include you.) It's not like they're not nice to everyone. But in the way they interact with customers, you can definitely see whom they favor.
    The biggest frustration with this place is that it seems that the management wants to turn it into part-fitness center and part really loud disco/nightclub. At all hours. Yes, even 7 am. Management lends a sympathetic ear to any complaints/concerns/suggestions -- even saying, 'hey, we don't like the loud dance music on all the time either' -- but then they never change the policy. They insist, and quot;It's what our members want.and quot; Even if members that you talk to say, 'Well, no. It's actually kinda annoying and loud and obnoxious and repetitive.and quot;
Management will suggest headphones. Which is fine in theory except that you have to really crank your music to drown out the dance club noise, which is cranked to 11. If you just want to work out in relative quiet and, I dunno, even have a conversation with another customer, that will be challenging.
Management doesn't seem to warm up to the idea of having designated and quot;dance club musicand quot; times (like after 8 pm when that kind of crowd is more likely there) and either no music or quieter, more mainstream music times.
All of this is driven by some petition that came up a long time ago that maybe 20 members signed, demanding that they have their dance music on loud, all the time. If a business essentially lets a relatively small group of customers dictate an unyielding policy that irritates the rest of its membership, that's bad business. And, in fact, I'll sign up at the Herndon city center or the Reston Y before I go back to Gold's.

    FITNESS FIRST
The reason I'm with them primarily is just location, it's the closest gym to my house. But, they're fine. There are other gyms that are better, there are other gyms that are not as good. I would call it probably a middle of the road gym but it certainly meets all my needs. They do send me emails. There are others that are bigger and grander but it meets my needs pretty well. Their pricing was very reasonable.

    LIFETIME FITNESS
We go to this particular one because it's bigger. They have a restaurant and day care built in. They also have a spa and a workout place that's all-in-one. They are a little pricey, but my favorite feature is their free two hour day care service.

They are very friendly people. It is 24 hours a day. It is very accessible and clean. They have all the right equipments. Generally, when I go there it is not very crowded so I have got no problem for that.
