Driveway Pavers reviews in Nokesville

    Paveco, Inc
Communication was great, price was great, time to deliver was great. End product was not so great. My 2yr old driveway was damaged in certain areas after we had large equipment brought in for a backyard remodeling project. I didnt go with the original company who put in the driveway due to costs, which I regret now. The length of my driveway has some minor wavyness to it where you can tell they stopped and started the paving machine. It isnt so bad that it bothers me, so I would consider that part sufficient and am not holding that against them. The problem is/was the pad in front of my garages. My pad used to drain to behind my second garage which backs to the side of my yard, so it was out of sight, out of mind. After their work my pad now drains to my back yard and floods a walkway I have there. You can easily see large various dips throughout the pad, one which creates a 12 ft long puddle in the driveway. I contacted the company and they came out and told me puddling was expected, and they list that in their paperwork, which to their credit they do mention puddling may occur. However I assumed that meant maybe a random 12in puddle, not a large, deep puddle. The owner offered to mill the driveway down to further enable the drainage out of the puddle, or to give me a free sealant application as a resolution. Neither are ideal to me as I paved the whole driveway vs just repairing individual broken sections so the driveway would be uniform and you wouldnt be able to pick out repaired sections. Sealant wouldnt fix my problem and the milling would obviously leave remenants of patch work being completed which avoiding that was the whole point of redoing the entire driveway. Of course this also wouldnt resolve my issue of the driveway draining to the wrong area. In addition to this they got tar on my garage doors, side entry doors, a vinyl fence I have, and I have tar boot prints now on a stone walkway I have. I had to repaint and scrub after the job was complete to get off what I could. I didnt have this type of issue when I originally had the driveway installed by another company, so with more careful action I know this all could of been avoided. They also had access to open and close my garage doors at will which they did. Second opinions from other asphalt companies I currently getting quotes to fix the issue, have confirmed this puddling and dips should not be present. Pictures show the puddle, and then the puddle after being filled with a hose to show were it would drain to if it is filled with a stream of water.

    Lucas Paving
We hired Affordable Paving (Anthony Stevens) but paid a $2000 deposit to Stephen Lucas of Lucas Paving on 8/30/18. Anthony and Stephen are partners. Both of them are very unresponsive and would say they would be here on a non rainy day (we did have a lot of those due to the hurricane), but then they would never showed up and never called. Anthony finally sent us a text on 8/21/18 to say he and Stephen are partners and split everything 50/50 and he (Anthony) needed a few days to get us his portion of the deposit back and Stephen was supposed to bring his portion that day. as of 8/26/18 they have not been in contact with us. Anthony's phone goes straight to voice mail and his voice mail is full and Stephen won't return our calls. This was for new construction of our home and this is holding up our bond from Prince William County and holding up money from the bank on our construction loan. THIS IS A SCAM - DO NOT HIRE LUCAS PAVING OR AFFORDABLE ASPHALT from Manassas VA. Also they are not licensed thru the state which we should have checked prior to hiring. We will be filing a law suit again both Anthony Stevens and Stephen Lucas.

    Jimmy G seal coating
Jimmy did a great job filling cracks and seal coating our driveway. He was very meticulous and spent a lot of time paying attention to detail. He also explained every step of the process very thoroughly. Would definitely recommend him!

    George w asphalt paving
After getting everything done, he said if I had any issues to call them and he'd come back out and fix it. Well, the week after I took down the "do not drive here" orange lines, a delivery driver drove over the edging cracking it. Called and asked him to come out and fix it, told me that that wasn't covered under warranty and that I'd have to pay. Fine I said. He said he'd send someone when he had "someone in the area because he couldn't send someone out to, just do that little bit of work". Couple of weeks, he's still a no show. Received a call seeing if I wanted the rest of my driveway done and at that time, he'd fix the crack. First, I agreed because I wanted it done. When I called him back the same day to tell him that I couldn't afford the rest done, to just to the repair, he didn't like that very much. Well, it's been 2 months and he hasn't been to fix the crack. Now - we've had a huge rain storm and the driveway he laid down didn't hold up in the rain and I have a huge rut in it. I called for him to come out and fix it. Still waiting for a response. Doubt I'll ever here from this company again and will probably, if its even worth it, seek legal action. I guess we shall see. I obviously do NOT recommend dealing with this company. I recommend you find someone more reputable and that has excellent customer serve. This company obviously does not believe in it.

    Site Works Inc

After almost 2 months of attempting to schedule a meeting for an estimate, he came out, spent a couple of hours discussing options and left with the promise of providing me a written estimate within a couple of weeks.  I have yet to receive anything further from this company.  I know they were a little busy during the winter months with snow removal jobs, so I remained flexible on the initial meeting.

    HOTMIXX Asphalt Paving
Its a pleasure to write one of the first reviews on Hot Mixx Asphalt Paving, a newcomer to Angies List. Although a newcomer to Angies list I have been doing business with this company and its predecessor for over 14 years. During this period of time they have installed a driveway as well as a paver walkway for me all with excellent results.
Their first paving job lasted over 14 years, however over the year heavy trucks have taken their toll on the driveway. I decide that it was time to call Mr. Houston again and inquire about the repair and resurfacing of the driveway. Mr. Houston has reorganized, taken on a new partner (Mike Horton) and is now doing business as Hot Mixx Asphalt Paving.
I received a very competitive bid from Mike Horton of Hot Mixx. I signed a contract with Mike on a Friday and he and his 8-man crew were at my premises early on the following Monday morning ready to do the job. I was extremely pleased to learn that many
of the 8-man crew that showed up on Monday morning were members of the crew that installed my driveway in 2000. That said a lot to me about the companies ability to retain quality people in a very competitive business such as asphalt paving.
This latest job involved the removal of a considerable amount of asphalt damaged by the heavy truck traffic and a complete repaving of my 275 ft. driveway. Once again the end results were excellent just like in 2000. This time Mike supervised the job from beginning to end. He was totally responsive to all my requests and when I asked him to come back and make a few cosmetic fixes to the driveway he did so willingly and on an expedited basis. Mike has grown up working for Mr. Houston over the years and has learned the business well. His enthusiasm for his work and his new role as a partner in Hot Mixx are quite evident. He was a pleasure to work with.
I ended up with another great driveway job and am looking forward to getting another 14 years out of this one
Hot Mixx delivered quality work and demonstrated excellent business ethics. Its hard to find quality companies in the asphalt paving business, however Hot Mixx and Mike Horton are the exception and I highly recommend them if you're looking for a quality driveway paving job.

    NATIONAL PAVING & REPAIR
It was a pleasure doing business with Dean Hancock. He arrived and walked me thru everything that he planned to do, which entailed rerouting a section of an asphalt driveway. He went to work immediately, clearing the path for the new driveway section and laying in a layer of rock for the base of the driveway. He came back a week later and put in the asphalt. The work was done quickly and the driveway looks great. Dean always returned my calls and kept me up to date on progress. Very easy to work with, his crew was polite and professional, cleaned up the job site when he was done.

    Chesapeake Paving
Chesapeake Paving for asphalt driveways.  It went okay.  I didn't like the fact that they sent one guy out, the estimator to give me one price and then the owner of the company came out and the original guy that came out, the estimator said to do it one way and then the other guy he was going to do it another way.  There was some disagreement about how much it was going to cost.  They charged me the same price which I felt it was less materials.  We eventually talked and we worked that out.  He went on and did it for the price because the original estimator said he wanted to take out a part, the bad part of the driveway, but the owner came and said no we can do that without taking it all out.  But he was still charging me the same.  So I thought if you are using less materials it should have been less money.  He explained that something about the consistency of the driveway and blah, blah, blah.  They used asphalt.  It cost us about $1300.  It was last fall.  October around there. The quality of work is good but they have a subcontractor, somebody that does the work for them.  And I'm still looking for them to come back and finish some work they didn't finish up.  Over all I was okay, I was pleased with them.

Nichols Asphalt Paving & Seal Coating
I contacted them on April 9th and left a voicemail. I also emailed them that day. They did not respond to either. I emailed them again on May 4th and May 22nd. They have still not responded to my calls or emails. If they had told me why they have not contacted I would have appreciated it.

    Asphalt Paving Master
After reviewing Angies List for seal coating companyies I selected this one owing to previous good ratings. After several hit and miss calls the contractor showed up performed an adequate estimate and then completed the job on the designated day. The sealing and coating were done to a standard one would expect, i. e., they didn't need to come back and fix any shoddy work or missed spots.
