I took my 2001 Ford Cobra to the shop to have my transmission looked at.  I knew that some of the sychros were bad in the transmission and was told this was a good shop to go to.... What a mistake that was....   First, the shop told me they didn't even have the right tools to take apart the transmission and asked me if I had the tools.  Are you kidding me???  What kind of supposed professional shop doesn't have the right tools to take apart a transmission?  Transmission work is the only thing they do and not having the right tools is a joke.  Then the shop told me that I had a 6 speed transmission, the car was stock and came with a 5 speed .  Cobras never came with a 6 speed transmission til 2003.   I had to call their corporate office and complain about these idiots.  I had to pay the up front charge of taking out the transmission and having it diagnosed.  I refused to pay anything else.  I ended up buying a brand new performance transmission, having it towed to someone else to get install.  Avoid this shop like the plague.

Justin gave me a wonderful breakdown on the condition of the car. His wise advice to me was to move on to another automobile, considering the reliability of this make & model vehicle, at this mileage point. I really appreciate his concern for our financial situation to not put money into a vehicle that is past its years of reliable use. Many companies just want you to spend your money on repairs, regardless of whether it is a wise investment for the owner or not. It is good to find a company where each of the men I spoke with were straight-shooters, ready-to-serve your need and very compassionate. If you want a car repair company that you can trust through the years in car repair, I believe that this company is stacked up to be that kind of service provider.

I had the truck towed to the provider's location using the tow service they normally used as it would not move under its own power.  They started repairs right away and were complete within 3 days.  When I went to pick up the truck, they showed me the old parts and which parts caused the failure.  They also took the time to recommend additional future service and options for adding an oil cooler for extra durability.
About a week or so after I picked up the truck, I noticed that it was leaking transmission fluid from the pan.  I called County Transmissions to schedule a return visit.  They were able to start repairs the next day, and ended up replacing the pan (not normally replaced during the rebuild) at no additional charge.

We are very pleased with work done. We were given a rough estimate of the cost for the work to be done, which turned out to be a little more than the final price. Work was scheduled quickly. A part needed to be ordered. We were informed of that right away and the approximate length of time it would take for the part to come in. The time-of-work estimates were reasonably accurate. We were contacted through both email and phone. The employee who handled the payment/pick-up transaction was efficient and friendly.

They explained in detail what was wrong and how they were going to repair it. All the guys there were very polite and helpful, and I was back on the road in three days. I've been driving the truck for five months or so and several thousand miles and it's performed as good or better than new. Thank you all at county transmission.

As always, Steve gave us an estimate that was the actual cost of the service. Work was completed on time and in a professional manner. Unlike many shops, Steve does not hand you a list of lots of other stuff that and quot;needs to be doneand quot; when you pick up the car.. We have used him for many years and can attest to his integrity and skills.

Repairs were completed in time given. Original estimate was $505.00.
Over half of $ 499.87 cost was for parts.
I have been using Piedmont Motors since moving to Nokesville area. When the old station had to close due to the construction at US29 and I66 Intersection, I stayed in touch with the owner to get his new location. My van has close to 300,000 miles, and all of my major repairs are performed with Piedmont Motors.

Took the truck to Halls Auto Care on June 11, 2012 and told Mr. Hall that the truck would not idle and stalled when you tried to give it gas.  I checked with Mr. Hall occasionally over the next six weeks to see if the truck was fixed and was told that he was still working on the problem.    After having the truck for six weeks, Halls called to say the truck was ready.  Basically, the parts on the ticket indicated a tuneup was done on the truck.  Parts and labor totaled $546.19.  I was informed that the truck ran like new and if I wasn't completely happy and satisfied to bring it back.  The individual who drove the truck home for me on July 25 said it was not fixed and still had the same problem.  I drove the truck and could see absolutely no difference in before after repairs.  I took the truck back to Halls and Ms. Hall was very apologetic and said they would do right by us and we left the truck there on July 29.  On August 9, Halls called and said the truck was fixed and ready to be picked up.  When I went to pick up the truck, I was informed by Mr. Hall that  I owed an additional amount of $499.24, the breakdown of which is $170.00 to bring in a Chevrolet expert from Alexandria, VA, $212.50 to remove and replace fuel pump, $85.20 for fuel pump, $14.99 for fuel pump strainer, $5.99 fuel line 0-ring.  I told Mr. Hall that this was ridiculous because if the fuel pump pressure had been checked in the first place, it would have been diagnosed correctly as a bad fuel pump, which did cure the problem.  As far as Mr. Hall bringing in an expert to diagnose something as simple as a fuel pump, I was under the misconception that Mr. Hall was an expert and had expert mechanics.  It is obvious that the truck did not need all the other repairs and I told Mr. Hall that I would be willing to pay for the fuel pump since it was needed and for all the work and parts done on the first ticket.  However,   I did not feel I should be responsible for the labor on the second ticket, especially since I was left with the impression that Mr. Hall and his mechanics were certified, so therefore it is hard for me to understand why he would have to bring in an expert for something as simple as a fuel pump.  Mr. Hall said we had to pay the complete amount.  I told him I wanted him to understand that I was an unhappy customer and he said he was sorry about that.  My complaints are that I was charged for unnecessary parts and labor, and that the truck was first released to me as having been fixed, while it was, in fact, not fixed and very unsafe to drive.

    Not good.  Not good.
We took the vehicle in for a rattling noise when the compressor comes on, and explained to the service dept that it is appears to be compressor.  They disagreed and replaced the tensioner.  They returned vehicle to us and rattling noise was still there.  We hd to take it back in.  They claimed first tensioner was bad so they replaced it.  They returned vehicle to us and rattling noise was still there.  Took it back in.  They attempted to re-diagnose it (which is a story in itself) and they determined it was the compressor.  They had to order parts so we had to take it back in for repair on yet another date.  They returned vehicle to us and rattling noise was STILL there and now the a/c was no longer putting out cold air.  Something obviously went wrong in their installation process.  Vehicle had a strange smell to it also.  So now we have to take it in AGAIN for the same problem (plus a new problem that they created trying to fix the old problem).  For all of this, we paid $200 in deductible costs and all we got after taking the vehicle in numerous times (and missing work each time) is a vehicle that is worse than it has ever been.  It's now the holiday weekend and we have no a/c in our vehicle so our weekend holiday plans must be cancelled.  Great.  Not happy.  In fact, furious at this point.  One of the most frustrating aspects is that we have literally showed them when the car makes the rattling noise and they apparently didnt listen to us because they determined that they would "test drive" it to see if it was fixed ... yet they failed to listen that the noise is not very obvious when you are driving down the road.
The only positive in this situation is that when we take the vehicle in YET AGAIN next week, they offered to rent us a car.  It's important to note that everyone at the shop is extremely nice and friendly ... we just wish they were knowledgable in repairs.
After this is over, we hope to find a mechanic that honors our warranty and actually knows how to repair the vehicle the first go around.
