Obgyn Care reviews in Newport News

I called the Center for Women?s Health clinic 22 January 2016 for an appointment for something that could be of grave concern so I was somewhat distraught.  What I got was a barrage of questions, none of which were what do I need the appointment for, and when can I come in.  The first question out of the receptionist's mouth was what was the name of my insurance company.  Then she asked for my social security number (Personal Identifiable Information [PII]) over the telephone in a public place, address (PII) and telephone number.  She would have gone through the entire clinic questionnaire but I told her to forget the appointment.  When did physicians stop asking the most important question:  What is the problem?

I could not be happier with every single doctor and midwife I met at this practice. No one seemed rushed and they took the time to answer all my questions. They offered lots of useful information to me and were very open and knowledgeable about different choices surrounding delivery. The midwife that delivered my baby was absolutely fantastic and the birth and recovery was amazing and quick. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone delivering in the Hampton Roads area if they want to be and quot;heard' by their doctor/midwife. The ding I gave them in punctuality and communiation is based on the fact that we called their answering service when I was heading down for delivery, but the person answering the phone did not forward the message onto the midwife on duty. She was therefore late (not her fault) and came just in time to deliver!

I had The policy of this practice is to rotate you through all of their Drs for each different appt. I know this is a common practice and I can certainly understand how it makes sense when managing both scheduled appts and unscheduled deliveries. However this practice has 8 different Drs, so you only see each one once or twice before your due date. And, several of them had very poor bedside manners - I was particularly put off by Dr. Pierce and Dr. Adawadkar (and, unfortunately, these were the two on-call doctors when my daughter was born). I liked Dr. Isbell and Dr. Jones, but I never saw them often enough to build up any rapport with them or to feel comfortable with them.
Appointments always felt very rushed. Because I was meeting a new person each time, I never felt comfortable voicing some of my questions or concerns. Some of the office staff came off as being somewhat rude.
That being said, my daughter and I both came out of it healthy and without any complications. My pregnancy and delivery were fairly routine. If I had any unusual difficulties during my pregnancy, I feel that the inconsistency of which caregiver I was seeing would have caused some issues.
I would have changed practices if there were other options available in Williamsburg that delivered at Sentara. I live in Newport News now and will not be using them for my second pregnancy

Saw a nurse practitioner, she was very nice. Also very helpful in putting in orders. Didn't like having a college freshman sit in although I could have declined but I was placed in an awkward position to refuse.

Waited 10 minutes from the time I stepped into the office. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped me with my new insurance. Enjoyed talking with Dr. Wolpmann and he spent the time I needed to talk to him.

I've been going to this practice since 2006. I like them tremendously. Kristen Yonker was my first doctor, and she oversaw my prenatal care. Unfortunately, she left. I often seen Kelly Gdovic now. Every member of the staff have always been very friendly, professional, and when I was creating my delivery plan they listened with great care and attention and answered every question I had. I have recommended them to friends.

She is the best doctor. She is very nice and makes you feel comfortable. She was there when I gave birth to my son, she was the doctor. It was great. She has a personal connection with you. Her communication is very good, the way she explains things is good. She makes you feel very comfortable with everything. I have never had an issue with billing and administration.

On my last appt. I did have to wait a bit but it's worth it to see him. If he doesn't know the answer to a problem, he will tell you and research it or refer you to someone else and then follow-up. There is a lot to be said for a doctor who gives out his cell phone number and checks on you over a weekend.

For women's health I would give them Alpha but the hospital in general, I would give them a Bravo. You need to call extremely early to make appointments. The staff is just rude.
