    Personal Touch Home Care
Communication was horrible. Several of the personal care aids were not going their tasks and leaving my mother's bathroom and kitchen untidy. Attempts to get a return call from office staff were often unsuccessful. Physical therapists were much better, although in several cases no one showed up when previously scheduled so we were left wondering what happened. We cancelled the personal aide and went with another company. Would not recommend a Personal Touch at all

    The Van House

Approximatly the second of October my wifes Trus Lift stopped working.  I contacted the Vanhouse in Hampton where we had purchased the unit about 8 years ago.  I explained my issue and informed  they were no longer a service center for the product and thinks the company might have went out of business.  I asked what options I had and was informed how much I can get per pound for it.  I mentioned that I really need it fixed and he said they have no one that knows how to work on the lift but will send someone out to look at it if I want to pay the 90.00 service cost.  I agreed and someone came out.  They made a temporary fix and said they would have to research how to repair.  I thanked him and waited.

While waiting and doing some research I found Trus Lift on the internet and started a email conversation.  I was able to obtain all the necessary information for parts and installation with both email and manuals that I shared with Vanhouse hopeing to be helping them.  I had found the people I talked to at Trus Lift to be very infomative and helpful.

A few days later we had to use the lift and again it broke so I contacted Vanhouse again and it was explained that he had phoned the Trus Lift company and left a detailed message.  I also contacted the Trus Lift company and was told there were no messages or inquires.  The woman I had been emailing asked for the phone number of Vanhouse and she would call them.

Again waiting and leaveing a few messages for Vanhouse to call me, I finally gave up and told others that answered phone it was not worth leaving a message as I never get called back. Leaving messages for Aaron or even talking to him and letting him hang up I knew I would not hear anything till I called back.

On the 14th of October, they found the time to send 2 service people out to attempt to fix it or find out what is needed.  This would cost me 80 and hour plus parts (127.42).  I asked if the 90.00 would be applied to the bill and was told no that was for looking at the lift.  The two they sent knew nothing of the documentation I had sent Vanhouse so I felt no research has been done outside of what I had done and explained.  It was determined that I needed some parts for lift.  They took pictures and I was assured that Vanhouse would send me a copy of the pictures.  Vanhouse also said they would need to contact Trus Lift to determine a rough estimate for labor and would check on parts for me also.  I was to order the parts after I agreed with the estimate.

Again, no call back.  I finally contacted Vanhouse via email asking for the status and a copy of the pictures.  I was told the lift was out front and I can take pictures they weren't sending any.  They also stated that they were expecting me to order the parts and contact them to come out and fix the lift.  I mentioned I thought was they were working up an estimate that would include the parts I needed as well as for labor.  Aaron said no I was supposed to order the parts and get back to them so they can try to get it fixed.  I was told I needed a worm gear which turned out to be incorrect.  I did need the motor coupler and guide block that they also mentioned.

I gave up on trying to work or wait on Vanhouse as I haven't liked his attitude since first conversation.  The service people were good at trying to fix the issue but not the office guy whom I felt like I was bothering too much.  I finally asked Trus Lift who I can contact locally and was given 2 other companies to assist.

Contacting another company, they took charge of everything and fixed the lift for 180 because I did not need a worm gear that was identified by Vanhouse as being a necessary part to be replace.

We have made other purchases from them and have had maintenance done to our purchase without issue.  I must say that they have changed and I won't be dealing with them again

Bon Secours Home Care At Mary
The folks they sent me recover after my bilateral hip replacement were all very good at their job. They were on time, professional, reassuring and efficient. And they were friendly too. What more can you ask for in home health care?

Bon Secours Home Care At Mary
Right now, they seem a bit disorganized. I didn't get a couple phone calls, I should have. The supplies aren't coming in when they said they would. But on the positive side, they are compassionate and available on phone to talk to, to get help.

The people in the office that you talk with actually want to talk to you and geniunely care about your loved one. The person that they have sent to care for my sister has been terrific and I couldn't ask for anything more.
