  • Very well. 4.9 out of 5 stars. Our lawn is the envy of the neighborhood. Only complaint is that after treatment there are streaks of brown that don't always correlate with weeds. It seems that the treatment is overly concentrated in some areas, however; the yard bounces back after a week or so and to be fair I've not mentioned this to the company. Also our yard is only 3 years old and it may be that it just needs more time to mature. Don't forget to irrigate! Highly recommend this great company.

  • Connor was very professional and knew what he was doing. He gave his opinion as to head options with reasons why they would work for the area that we wanted covered. Was done in approx 2 hours. We were very impressed. Will definitely have them maintain the system when needed. Asked for a quote for lawn cutting.

  • The responsible individuals for the project are Mike Zimmerman, Marc Genest, Sonny Clark, Tim Spangler, and Chris Simpson. Covis took a project without a hint of knowledge on fireplace construction resulting in a square box and a hole in the top build while being ignorant to accepted dimensions, design, and construction practices. Covis did not pull a permit.
The structure was 'completed' Jan 15 and paid for. On testing much of the smoke exited the firebox rather than going up the flu rendering it unusable. Covis-Nova vowed to fix the issue but was just as ignorant in repairs as the original build resulting in no improvement after about a dozen demolitions that shattered the stone and block.
Covis-Nova, unable to repair the fireplace, sub-contracted Covis-Raleigh (Marc Genest) for the repairs. Marc demolished the fireplace by gutting the structure. It is now just a shell and a pile of rubble.
The local inspector was called to the site. He ordered a permit and it was completed. The inspector then ordered a work stoppage and a report from a structural engineer due to questions about the foundation and the soundness of the structure after being
sledge hammered and patched a dozen times.
In fear of costs and what the engineers report would require, Covis-Nova and Covis-Raleigh abandoned
the project. During this entire 15 months Covis has left trash, buckets, piles of rubble, block, sand, mortar, scaffolding, and general junk all over my property. I have asked them dozens of times to clean it up and they have never done so, it still sits.
Neither of the Covis franchise members has been on site in 3 months . I emphasize again, the last contractor on site was Marc Genest from Covis-Raleigh and he left the project in ruins.

  • Fifteen mo. ago(10/14) Covis entered a contract with me to build a large stone fireplace, it has not been completed and stands in rubble in my yard.
The responsible individuals for the project are Mike Zimmerman, Marc Genest, Sonny Clark, Tim Spangler, and Chris Simpson.
I asked for and received my final payment back of just under 5K. Covis vowed to fix the issue but has been just as ignorant in repairs as the original build resulting in no improvement, about a dozen demolitions that shattered the stone and block, removal of much of the structural supports in attempts to redesign, and lastly a complete gutting of the structure to just a shell and is now unsafe.
The local inspector was called to the site. He ordered a permit and it was completed. The inspector then ordered a work stoppage and a report from a structural engineer due to questions about the foundation and the soundness of the structure after being sledge hammered and patched a dozen times.
In fear of cost and what the engineers report would require, Covis has abandoned the project having not been on site for over two months  They have since begun lying to me by e mail and in doing so trying to deflect the responsibility, they have made countless commitments for resolution and never follow through.
In regards to construction details, the structures foundation was not properly built as its is not solid material 12 inches at the base, there is no foundation under the hearth, the firebox does not conform to standard accepted dimensions, there was never a throat, smoke shelf, nor smoke chamber which is critical to draw, the metal supports were not packed on the ends with compressible material which will result in cracking of the block due to expansion, the chimney is too short for proper draw, there was not a damper placed in the firebox until recently, the specifications for the flu were never considered and is too large in diameter for proper draw.
Of upmost importance, the mortar used in construction was never given the two weeks required cure time before it was heated by fire. The maximum time was 3 days and some mortar as fired the same day it was laid, an obvious concern for structural integrity.
During this entire 15 months Covis has left trash, buckets, piles of rubble, block, sand, mortar, scaffolding, and general junk all over my property. I have asked them dozens of times to clean it up and they have never done so, its still sits.
The bottom line is Covis had no idea how to build a large fireplace, it was built without regard to known standards everyone has access to, has been demolished and patched many times and is now structurally unsafe as indicated by the inspectors requirement for a structural engineer report. Today it sits in ruins.
I have pictures and videos that will make the whole story complete. No rational person will look at pictures of how the structure looks today and what it has endured and be accepting.
Covis has now turned to lying, promising action, providing every imaginable excuse, resulting in no activity while my yard sits junked up in rubble sitting in a mud hole.

  • Fausto Andrade (owner) told me the job would take 2 days - they never came back the 2nd day for over a week. He owuld not return phone calls. The pattern was off center & when he came back to finish the work he made me feel bad because it would cost him more money to fix the pattern.

  • M-C Hernandez Tree Service provided wonderful service that went above and beyond any contractor in my experience. I had tried for two weeks to find a contractor to clear my lot so that a fence could be installed, and had zero success. Most said that they were unavailable for months, others just didn't reply.
Yesterday the team from Hurricane Fence arrived and said they would do what they could until the lot was cleared. I asked the foreman if he knew anybody, and he made a phone call to Mr. Hernandez. Shortly after that I met him and we made arrangements for the next day.
He understand my urgency, and expressed many times that customer satisfaction and a fair price for the job was important to him. He did not want to overcharge. Wow - not a common factor in my experience.
He showed up early today with his team, and asked if I would also like a few dogwood trees dug up and replanted in my empty front yard. Wow again.
    Very nice experience!

  • My husband and I were very pleased with the work that was done. We have received many compliments from our neighbors who either have already built a patio or are planning to have one built in their backyard.  The retaining wall and patio have  drawn the attention of passing cars stopping by to look at it.  We had considered 3 contractors from Angie's list with A ratings and we chose Worden Paving because we liked the owner Bill Worden's business manners during our first interview for an estimate.  Bill was very professional, knowledgeable, competent, and open to our comments, suggestions and lots of questions that he patiently answered regarding every detail we wanted to know about the work to be done.  Coming from a science and engineering background my husband and I wanted to make sure that the structures were free of defects, were sound, would not collapse years later and would have no drainage issues.  Since our property is in a community with an association, we had to request permission to have the patio and retaining wall constructed. This involved filling out a request describing the project with drawings and details on the types and colors of the stones that Bill helped us select.  He helped us fill out the request with all the information required and personally took it to the association management company to expedite the process. During the construction he was very mindful about not disturbing the surface of the lot not yet sold next to our house that was used for access to our backyard to bring and stage the materials.. At the end of the project the left over fill, gravel and grass sods were removed restoring the lot to its original condition and the silt skirt around the lot put back in place. He kept us informed on each step of the construction calling us to let us know when his crew would or would not be in for one reason or another. His crew was very professional and courteous. Bill  was also very open to changes we wanted to make from the original plan toward the end of the project such as adding 2 custom  made columns to the 2 entrances on the patio. A few days after the work was completed we noticed that the patio did not have enough polymeric sand in certain areas and we were concerned about water infiltration in these areas. Bill quickly responded to our concerns and personally came to add more sand to the patio,  leaving extra sand for us to use if we noticed any other gaps that. were not  filled. Overall Bill was a wonderful contractor, knowledgeable about his work, customer oriented and exceeded our expectations.  We highly recommend Worden Paving for your hardscaping and patio needs. We have already recommended it to our neighbors in our residential community.
