    Gary Brubaker
Gary did fine work for a period of time , but as his business grew he tride to fit me in schedule at his convenience. Got a text late the night before he planned to come. We parted ways when I insisted on more notice. In addition he never bothered to let me know if he could not make it when he did give me an earlier notification. 125

I attempted to have Terry return to replace 3 bathroom fans.  He told me he was busy but he would call me over the weekend.  That did not happen so I called him again.  He told me he would call on Thursday or Friday.  That did not happen.  When I sent him a text telling him not calling me to set up a time for the job was annoying and  unprofessional he replied I was an A**hole. Needless to say I decided to hire someone else.  I expect to be called as promised and get a date for the job.   He does reasonably good work at a fair price so I always paid him more than what he billed me.  Apparently that did not register with him to be polite and professional in his conduct.

He's quite good. I just called them and asked whether they'd be back. Their prices are very reasonable. Occasionally I have them do other things, like cutting down a tree or other things. The workers are very professional and very willing to be cooperative. It's a family business. It's a man, his son and his grandsons. The grandfather is really good at tree cutting. He can cut a tree and make it fall on a dime, if that's what you want. They have good equipment. They have a bunch of mowers and string trimmers. They do good work and they care about what they're doing. They're also reasonably priced.

The job was done in about 8 hours.  Pleasant and knowledgeable crew of about 6 workers.  Cleaned up and hauled away all old roofing.  Internet communication with Mr. Baber was great!  Recommend to anyone in the Staunton-Augusta County area

    Dominion Window and Door Inc
Pat was excellent, replacing all of the windows in my house. I am extremely pleased with the job and how it turned out on a 100 year old farmhouse with a little settling. I would definitely use again.

    Michael's Chem Dry
Gave instructions over the phone re: how to initially treat the damage that had occurred and followed up within the week to take the rug for cleaning at his shop.  damage to rug was not as extensive as initially thought and price was adjusted accordingly. Rug returned earlier than expected as well.  Rug was rolled up and carried from the house to his van, and returned in same manner.  I was VERY pleased with the service he provided.

When our septic system backed up it was a dire emergency. No use of water for dishes, bath, or toilets!! So I called around for help early in the evening. Many providers advertised 24 service but only one answered the phone. I had heard the Roto Rooter would be overpriced but they were very reasonable and promised to be here first thing in the morning. They kept there promise and solved all the problems.. Now they will pump my tank every three years and I would not even consider going to another provider

    Augusta Equipment
Augusta Equipment sells and services New Holland tractors.  They  picked up my tractor in the beginning of the week to determine causes for loss of adequate power for heavy jobs.. I requested they let me know when they determine the cause of the loss of power before proceeding to other cosmetic improvements I wanted done.  The following day I called late in the afternoon to inquire whether they could provide any information on what the tractor needed.  They told me they just pulled the tractor in the shop and were evaluating it now I asked them to call when they knew something. But not having heard from them in 24 hours I called again and was told they were about ready to pull the tractor in the shop! So I guess the story from the day before was not true. I allowed days to pass waiting for them to call, but I never got a call.  By the beginning of the following week I called again. This time I was told the fellow working on my tractor would call me as soon as he came back in the shop. At this time I have no idea of needed repair, how much had been done, or the cost!  I did learn that there was dirt in the fuel tank  which is something I suspected since I previously lost the fuel cap while bush hogging but  did not realize it for hours.  The next day I spoke to a manager they call "BUMPER".  I explained to him that  none of my three requests for a call were honored even though I had been assured each time someone would call me.   Bumper excitedly told me that they could not spend all their time on the phone or they would have to charge way more then I wanted to pay.  I said but they have not called me once! You have had the tractor over a week  and all I know for sure is there was dirt in the tank which is something I suspected but  I have never been given an estimate of the cost or a complete list of the problems.  He got irate and told me he would get an estimate.  Of course he did not get an estimate.  He did call back to rant how the fuel tank was filthy.  The first I was given an estimate was over two weeks from the time they got the tractor and Bumper called to let me know the tractor was ready.   So over $2000 of repairs were done without telling me anything.  Their philosophy is we will repair your tractor and you will pay whatever we decide after the job is done. My car dealer would not think of doing anything like that.  They provide the cost before any service is done.  Not these guys! Their idea of customer service is we will fix it when we are good and ready and it will be right but don't bug us for any information. Even after I was told my tractor was done it took 2 days for them to deliver it and no invoice showing what was done came with it.

I have not put the tractor under a heavy load condition since it has been returned, but I do believe they checked the horse power  and made sure that is up to specification.  I will know for sure in the Spring when I need to bush hog 36 acres.  Unless there is a change in management there I would not consider using August Equipment for service work.

No sooner were the pool contractors done when the Blue Ridge Fencing crew showed up to start the pool fencing. They did the job quickly and beautifully! We actually put the pool in the pasture adjacent to our yard. So after fencing the pool they then replaced 300 feet of the horse fence so that the pool became part of the yard. They showed up early every day and finished the job in less than a week. After completion, I needed to modify a gate to prevent a dog escape from the new yard. They returned quickly and resolved the problem for me I have learned that often the low bidder is not very detailed in the proposal. When I confronted the other bidder with some questions it was clear he was not going to get my job done according to my needs either in terms of time or quality. Blue Ridge does quality work and does it in a timely manner. I highly recommend them.

I have since had additional work done and continue to rave about the service they provide.

    Valley Pool & Spa
The sales people discussed the pool with us over a three year period  before we made the move and signed a contract.  Not having any knowledge of pools we needed help to decide what, if any,  pool would fit our situation.   The salesman Jimi was at our home three different times to discuss pools, accessories,   a good location etc.   Eventually we had both the will and the money so we were very comfortable and signed a contract.
We were given a date for the dig, the delivery,  and approximate completion.  All went like clockwork.  The president of the company showed up  at each important milestone.  Within 3 weeks of the dig we had a beautiful salt water pool and were instructed on how to maintain the pool.  The only headache was we had in the entire process was to contact our own  electrician.  Be sure you do that well as we had to fire the first guy..  The location we chose turned out perfect.  What a view!
Valley pool will return to help us close down our pool for the winter.   They certainly don't forget you once the installation is complete.  I have dealt with this company on my SPA for the last 14 years.  They have treated me fairly that entire time and I fully expect I will be saying the same about the pool in 14 years.
