  • The staff - everyone who is not a doctor at Lynchburg Gynecology - has been consistently wonderful. I began going to this practice 10 years ago or more. Usually I see Vickie Moore. You cannot find a nicer or more compassionate practitioner. She is knowledgeable and takes time with her patients. She knows your story, and remembers you. She is gentle in her touch and she warns you before she does anything. I appreciate her respectful courtesy. She is a gem.
    The MDs I have come into to contact with are another story. I personally do not like Dr. Dabney. He talks very loudly and I always got the feeling that he was mansplaining things to me. I always felt he was talking down to me - at the top of his lungs. Maybe others would find his bombast reassuring. He's just not my cup of tea.
    Dr. Gibney is just awful. She works on you like she has the hood up on her car engine. She is impatient if you feel pain. She expresses very little compassion or sympathy. She touches you and pokes things into you with no warning. She barks orders to the staff. When I felt sick after her rough exam I asked her for some ice because I was about to pass out or throw up. and quot;We don't have any ice,and quot; she said, and that was that, as far as she was concerned. I then had to beg to lay down. Ugh. As my mother-in-law used to say, and quot;If you're going to treat me like a dog, next time I'll just go to the vet!and quot;

  • My father-in-law wanted and needed a new family doctor. The former doctor kept handing him off to new assoc, and he is 85yrs with heart, diabetes, memory, feet, and eyesight problems...along with a few other complaints. He does not trust or like any doctors. I called told the receptionest I wanted to establish a new family Dr. for my father-in-law, and I asked for Dr. Webb. She politley let me know he was not taking new patients, and reconmended Dr. Gibbs. I told her about Dad and what concerns we had. She asked if he would like an appt with Dr Gibbs. I said yes and she asked when I wanted to to get him in. I told her as soon as possible. She gave him an appt for the next morning. When he went to the appt, he would not let us take him, and if we tried to go, he was going to cancel the appt. (he likes to control, lie, manipulate, and avoid giving the doctor pertinent information, that he doesn't want the doctor to know; he also does not want us giving the doctor the information, also avoidance of putting us on his authorized contact list), so we let him go alone. I faxed all the information I know of to the doctor the morning of the appt. He came back, and said he liked the doctor. He stated Dr. Peter Gibbs gave him an hour of time, asking questions to get to know him, his interests, and medical background. Dr Gibbs made him feel he was really interested in him as a patient. Dr. called in a prescription for him. Dad will have a follow-up in a couple of weeks. He told us some of the questions the doctor asked him and we (son and daughter-in-law) we're happy to hear he covered the issues of concern.
