    Goldberg, Dr. Fred E.
Dr. Goldberg was very competent and clear in his explanations. Overall, my experience was quite good. I was able to get my first appointment very quickly and did not have to wait long in the office. For the follow-up appt, however, I waited about 25 minutes which was a little frustrating. My only caveat is to check which insurance they accept. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield which they did not accept.

    Tran, Dr. Diana
Put in an order for prescription glasses not to exceed insurance allowance for any part of the order.  The owner picked a frame covered by insurance and "required" payment for a case.  (This was because too many glasses were returned broken according to owner.)  No receipt was provided for the glasses, just a receipt for the mandatory case which I insisted upon.  Didn't think I needed a receipt for the glasses since they would be no cost directly to me.  Owner indicated she would call when glasses were ready.
Received a statement of benefits from my insurance company that the frame was a deluxe frame that exceeded insurance allowance and that there was substantial "not otherwise classified" charges that exceeded the insurance benefits.
Two months later I still have not received a call indicating the glasses are ready.  Calling the optometrist results in a recording that indicates there must be an appointment on certain days or that they are too busy with customers to talk to anybody.  I will not make an appointment without a full explanation of any charges from the optometrist.
In several calls to the insurance company they indicated they have paid the statement of benefits charges submitted by the optometrist.  They do not check that the changes have been agreed to by me.  All they required from the optometrist is the insurance card information and verification info on me such as DOB.

    Village Eye Center
On his first visit, the optometrist referred him to an opthamologist for lens replacement, saying that getting a glasses' prescription at this point, would be a waste of time. He appreciated his honesty. The Referral was excellent and he subsequently had both lenses in his eyes replaced.
I went for a regular eye exam and for new prescription glasses. Again, the optometrist said that my needs were borderline and it was entirely up to me whether I wanted to pursue a prescription for distance vision. Once my decision was made, it took only several days to receive the new glasses, in comparison to my previous optometrist who needed almost 2 weeks. Everyone was friendly, professional and helpful.
I would definitely recommend Village Eye Care.

    Goldberg, Dr. Fred E.
I have been seeing Dr Goldberg for many years and he is easy to talk to and willing to work with paitents. At this point he sees my husband, mother, children and some other families that we know. He is wonderful with children and has found issues with my son that could not be found on a standard eye test. He has a baseline for each of my children from when they were infants and then started annual exams when they were 3.

    Goldberg, Dr. Fred E.
I was able to get an appointment the day after I called. I felt like he took plenty of time with us. My daughter is only eight and she was scared and he was very good with her. The office is convenient, it was quick to get an appointment and they were easy to deal with. The glasses came in when they said they would. I would definitely recommend him.

    Jacobs, Dr. Robert R.
People need to schedule an hour for the training every week.  A lot of visual therapists have been starting using the computers to train the eyes, and he uses a larger variety of experience to help train the eye.  His staff makes children especially feel very comfortable.  The people in the waiting room end up becoming best friends because they end up spending the same time like other people do.  There is a lot of networking that goes around in the waiting room too between the parents.  Most of his employees have an education background, and they are very comfortable with children.  They also work with some adults usually in a rehabilitation situation, maybe when there is a brain injury where the vision had suddenly damaged.  He has a few partners where some of them work with young children, and some work with teenagers.  He really made my daughter feel fabulous about her because he told her exactly what was wrong after an hour exam for the first time she went.  He had a nice long conversation with her after she said she is in sixth grade.  He was fabulous.  We have to do some of our own paperwork.

    Tran, Dr. Diana
We would not return to Dr. Tran, not because she did not prescribe correctly, but because she did nothing to educate us as to how to decide what treatments were necessary on the glasses we ordered. She was not the least bit friendly, and in the end was not forthcoming with information I asked her for. After telling us that we had no coverage for our glasses, she went ahead and filed a "medical" claim that she never told us about, after we paid in full for the visit, glasses, and exam. It seems to me that she is not entitled to any more payment for this service.

    Goldberg, Dr. Fred E.
I did not have a good experience with my previous optometrist but with Dr. Goldberg, everything just worked out smoothly and he gave me the best pair of glasses that I have had in years. Now, I can see clearly for a change. I have been very satisfied with his service.

    Karlin, Dr. Kenneth M.
Dr. Karlin doesn't try to sell anything. He is very honest and up front. He is more interested in my actual diagnosis and eye care than money. I really like him and he is a great doctor. The office staff is wonderful. Everyone there is perfectly capable and wonderful.

    Goldberg, Dr. Fred E.
He seems to really know what he is doing, takes the time to explain what is going on, and keeps up on new technology and new things that are happening. It is convenient for me to go to him too. His office seems to be pretty well organized.
