    JK Moving Services
Do NOT use this moving service. Although the crew that picks up and moves boxes and furniture etc. are hardworking, the rest of the operation is horrible. The cost far exceeded the estimated price, and JK refused to acknowledge responsibility for damage to items stored in their Sterling facility. JK blamed me for the damage. They denied a claim despite the crew and person who came to check on the damage saw that it was caused by something leaking externally onto my possessions. The reasons given for denying the claim did not at all correlate with what actually happened. I regret having chosen JK.

The initial visit went very well. Two people from the office came to my home, as scheduled, to inspect the contents of the move. They looked thoroughly everywhere, asked pertinent questions, clarified a few issues and finally sat down to prepare an offer which they presented to me some 15 minutes later. I had received two other offers from other movers. One rather lower, the other similar (but still lower) to the one I was being presented with. The difference was that they did not visit to inspect the contents. So I accepted the more costly offer because I felt the people involved understood what they were offering better than the competition. They seemed knowledgeable and professional. The service a few days later was excellent. The crew came, on time, with two trucks. Everything that was not packed was protected. Nothing was damaged in the process. The crew was not only very polite, but willing to accept my suggestions the very few times I thought they could be relevant. Moves are never fun, but this one was, by far, the largest and at the same time the least stressful I have ever made. The company knew all along what it was doing. Great service.

    Town & Country Movers Inc

We requested a binding estimate for moving a single family home from one location to another in Virginia.  The representative showed up on time and was polite and professional.  We went through each room of the house and garage together.

We specifically requested a binding estimate and we received shortly after the provider left a non-binding estimate.  I emailed the representative noting that we wanted a binding estimate.  His response was that we would have to first move out all of the things we did not want moved and then he would come back and go through the house again and provide a binding estimate.

He was polite, prompt, and professional but ultimately did not provide what we asked for.

    JK Moving Services

JK showed up on time and took time to walk through each room of the house and garages asking relevant questions and providing written materials for us.  The written materials were from the Virginia movers association and in them they indicated binding estimates were legitimate in Virginia.

JK later emailed us a written non-binding estimate.  Since we specifically requested a binding estimate I emailed back that we were looking for a binding estimate he said he would get back to me.  Within a day JK provided a response  that binding estimates were illegal.

The representative was personable, polite, and professional but did not provide what we asked for.  We did not want an estimate where upon arrival we have to pay, with no bound, whatever additional monies the mover requested due to overage done on their private scales.

It's important to understand that a non-binding estimate means you agree to pay whatever the mover requests when they arrive at your new residence else they retain your goods in a warehouse and charge storage.   Maybe the request would be the same , but more likely it would be higher.  Assuming that risk is something we as consumers choose not to do.

The D for quality is since we did not receive what we requested.

We requested binding estimates from 4 moving firms.  A binding estimate is one where the firm gives you a price not to exceed.  In the past when moving  one moving firm told us we were their estimate and that we would have to pay $1200 more or they would not unpack.  Strongly recommend to angies list members to always and only get a binding estimate.

Dave and his colleague, Pearla, showed up on time.  We walked through each room of the single family house and garage and detached garage.  Dave and Pearla asked relevant questions about packing, etc along the way.

We explained to Dave and Pearla that we were only interested in a binding estimate and he assured us he understood.  He and Pearla worked out a written estimate on paper while they were here.  I later called them and confirmed this was a binding, not to exceed estimate and they replied yes.

Both Dave and Pearla were pleasant to deal with and reasonable folks.  I encourage you to consider them for your moving needs.

They were very proffesssional and detailed in everything that they were a part of. They stood up for me on my buy when things got a little dicey which made me feel really good. They weren't all about the pay check they really cared. They wanted to make sure that I was getting want I wanted for the price that I felt comfortable with. Plus on the sale of my house they helped me get top dollar by the way they helped me set my house up and staged correctly. It was a very good learning and very interesting process for me. I thought all you did was put your house up and sell it, but these women really know there business, there is far more to it than that. If you don't give Dianne a chance to sell your house you are missing out on the best.

    Secure Home Inspections LLC
The inspector arrived at the home before we arrived and had already began looking at the outside areas. He was very thorough in checking out all areas of the house and explained everything to us in detail.  He showed us how we're suppose to use the tank for the well water and gave us tips about saving money when filling the propane tanks and other tidbits of information.  We were very pleased with his services and above all he was very professional.

They did an excellent job.  They were very polite and professional and fast.  I moved out of a 3 bedroom house and they had me moved into my new home in a little over 5 hours.  Not one thing was broken.  I am very happy with the job they did and would highly recommend the moving company Dave The Mover.

He came over and I had to take time off for this move. He came and did a walk through. I also needed help packing because I worked a lot of hours. So, he gave me an estimate. My dad was paying half of it. I misunderstood my new landlord about Dave because thers's a company called Three Daves moving company. My dad thought the estimate was ok. Dave explained that he would have the movers pack everything. In my lease my landlord said he had to be professionally cleaned and defleed because I have pets. So, Dave referred me to some service providers.

Now Dave said we'll have to provide lunch for his crew for the pack and move. He said that is the way it is. Either you get us lunch or we don't do the move. I told him there's two option pizza or fast food. He said he'll let me know.

The day of the move his crew has a bit of work to do and comes lunch. I asked him which one and he said "no you will have to take us to the Marshall Diner". I told them "no" and he said "we're leaving". So, I had to get them food from there. We get to the diner and the waitress hands me the bill and there's no total. The total was $80 for lunch. I was going to see if Dave was going to help me and he says "Oh well".  So, now we're ready to come to my new place 7 miles away. Dave starts to unload. I told him the day of the mover I had to go to court. I told him I needed him to put the boxes marked "clothes" to be in my bedroom. Also I was going to drive my computer to my new place myself. He said "no no no we're pros we'll pack it up for you.". He explains how they pack up everything, and I was fine with it. So, we get to the house and his unloading and says "you have too may boxes and we cannot fit everything in the house." He tells me we're going to Stable Storage. I told him to put it in an attic and he said they're not allowed to do it. I told him he could load the boxes from floor to ceiling and he said "no, we could cause a fire and it's a safety hazard".

We get to the house after going to the storage unit. He sets up my computer and everything was fine there. So, then he goes "the job was bigger than we thought and it's going to cost more." I told him no I'm not paying more. And he said he take everything back. I told my dad and he's a judge.

I tipped them after the work. I go into my office to enter some stuff on the computer. The only thing real on my computer was the screen everything was a box imagine of the computer. I never found any of my stuff. I call Dave to see what happen to my computer and he said "I have no idea what your talking about we didn't take it.".

I get up early and I start going through the boxes to get my clothes and I could not find my work suite. I had to call my supervisor and tell her that I had no clothes. So, I had to go to the storage unit that they did not leave in my house.

I referred them to a friend and had the same experience with everything.

I had the worse experience EVER!!!
