    F. Stone Design Company LLC
A large portion of the natural stone facing had separated from the foundation and settled resulting in a large crack the length of front porch. Fernando arrived on time and assessed the problem, explained everything in detail and provided an estimate later that same day. He and his brother arrived early the next morning and removed all the natural stone from the face of the front porch and painstakingly removed the old grout from the stones in order to re-use them. This was important to me in order to match the color of the remaining portions of the stone facing. When the house was built the stone was grouted directly to the poured concrete foundation which resulted in poor adhesion. Fernando installed the proper wire mesh against the foundation and then proceeded to reset all the natural stone. They returned the next day and installed the grout. A first rate professional job all the way. Responsive, on time, job done to perfection. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

    Masonry Specialist LLC
Nothing went as written in their proposal. No footers added as proposed. Shoddy work. It began to deteriorate within 1 year. Solution was to "fill" open gaps with mortar. Not acceptable. Eventually my mother took them to court. She won a judgement against them as they never even showed up. To this day, they have not paid a dime. I would never do business with this company.

    Mottern Masonry Design
Business does not work in Warrenton or Marshall, VA - I called regarding the installation of two sets of brick stairs, brick walkways, kick wall and a rear patio but Guy responded that Mottern will not work in this part of Fauquier County. I can't blame them as the job was a big one and would likely be a fair amount of work and they may have too much work on their plate.

    Metropolitan Chimney Masonry Services Inc
Wow - punctual, courteous, professional, honest, and couldn't have asked for more.  First of all, a quick comment:  Most of the "A" rated services would not accept my business because I have pellet stove inserts.  I assume this is simply because the stove has to be pulled out and disconnected.  Metropolitan Chimney Masonry Service Inc. accepted immediately, and was very prompt and professional throughout.
Our rep showed up exactly on time, and explained everything that was to be done.  He was very careful while moving items around to gain access to the pellet stove, and answered all of my questions thoroughly.  He was very pleasant to work with.
Special note:  I was a bit worried, as I have never employed a chimney sweep before, and a neighbor said that she needed to have a lot of work done.  Since it's a bit like taking your car into the shop (your flux capacitor is shot), the average Joe doesn't really know what's really needed in the dark recesses of our chimneys.  I was both relieved and very impressed with his explanation that my chimney was in fact in "very good" shape, no special or significant repairs were needed, and it was not very dirty at all (pellets produce low ash, he explained).  The crown is a bit worn re the masonry, and he showed my a picture and explained what a new crown would do to prevent rain water from seeping into the bricks.  I never felt any pressure, and everything was explained thoroughly.
All in all, outstanding service from a company I trust, and I will definitely be a return customer.  Joe (the average Joe I mentioned earlier)!

    Owens Family Handyman Services

Helper dropped a bucket of paint down the stairs (had that piece of carpet replaced), paint splatter on appliances and floor (did clean it up), replaced a door but the door doesn't close properly and was unable to install a deadbolt (didn't have tools and bought the wrong door). I could have lived with much of the above as he attempted to fix the mistakes for the most part, but he ran off with $100.00 worth a building materials and never responded to emails and calls.

    Garcia Outdoor Services, LLC
Quotes from several local landscaping companies were on average about twice as expensive as Garcia. He came with a team of 5 workers, fully insured, who performed each task just as we requested:
    - cut large curves into 2 areas of asphalt to extend the planting area - not an easy task and done to perfection. Removed asphalt and hauled away. Replaced with topsoil and mulch (for the winter).
    - advised on tree limbs hanging over a section of the house and removed some very large limbs without damaging plantings below
-removed 5 dead or dying trees and cut up for firewood, stacked neatly
-cut a 4' deep trench 40' long and laid perforated PVC for drainage purposes, filled in and flattened, re-seeded and covered with hay
    - we plan on using them this spring to build a stone retaining wall/platform for a patio in and area of the sloping back yard.

    Bowers Brick Inc
Great. Had a fireplace installed into my living room. Bowers Brick was prompt and professional. Very happy with the way the work site was left each evening (nice clean up considering the construction site). Fireplace profile is beautiful. Had it down in natural stone so some of the stones needed to be chipped down to fit in. Gave creative license on pattern and could not be happier. Have had many a warm night since with the fireplace and when not lit the profile is a beautiful addition to my home. Would use Bowers Brick Inc in a heartbeat if I have another masonary project.

Beautiful brick work. Very professional and prompt. Looks like it should be at the Biltmore Estate. Clean work area. Nice guy with incredible attitude. Gave us exactly what we wanted.
