    Dr. Fitzgerald is a great doctor. She gives you her full attention, listens thoroughly and offers treatment suggestions that work with my lifestyle. She demonstrates genuine caring along with professionalism. Some of my problems can get complex, but she is not phased; she treats me herself or makes appropriate referrals. It's easy to get an appointment and she doesn't overbook so her appointments run on time. Her small staff if friendly and competent; they seem to like each other and work well together. I get regular follow-up calls about blood work or medicine changes, if needed. I've never been to another practice that ran so efficiently and felt so relaxed.

    He has done an excellent juggling job. He is also willing to explain, when I ask a question that is beyond a normal patient. He is pretty open-minded. That alone, would make me keep going to him. He is a good guy. He is very nice, decent and very professional. He knows his stuff. He has just moved to new office. It's gorgeous. He has been great, especially, when I've been freaked out about something that went wrong. He has also been one of the best people to communicate with that I've had to deal with.

    I am currently looking for another Medical Practice. It's very sad because my Doctor is very good and caring. I suspect BRFP, after associating with Novant, has become another patient mill. I'm sorry to say but I would avoid this Medical Practice. Not because of the doctors because they truly care, but because a big business attitude has overshadowed the human side of medicine.

    We have been going to them for years but their billing practices were so upsetting that we had to find another doctor. They care all about the billing. They don't care about us as a person. My husband had high blood pressure and he run out of medicine. We went to refill it and they denied it. They said he has to come in and the pharmacist was stunned because that's not something they deny. They give us like a week and then they give some for a few days' worth so we could get it to the doctor and they refused. We called them and they were horrible and nasty. They said my husband should have been organized and he should have been in there. He could die. A week after that, that was done. I think I did go on Angie's List to get the new doctor, which is Manassas Internal Medicine and they were awesome. They got us in right away and they had been very helpful. They heard stories about the other doctor and they had gotten patients from them as well for the same thing. It's about the money. It's not about the healthcare anymore. The other thing I noticed with the Manassas Family Practice was if I go in to have my annual check up, it's supposed to be free and I don't normally have issues. I come in and they might ask different questions. My husband has migraine and they marked all that down and they billed us as if it was a doctor's visit, not as a normal free thing because they say they have advised us on all those things. Doesn't that contradict the whole point of an annual physical? They were just nasty people. I wouldn't go back to them for any reason. I'm now happy with the other doctor and establishing that relationship long term. It's just unfortunate because I would think that they would care about our health. My husband went there for years and once we got married, I started going there. I don't know if we are victims of whatever the trends in the healthcare but it's unacceptable to deny someone something that simple. It wasn't like it was Percocet. It was blood pressure medicine. Life is rough. He was busy working and those things happen.

    My last experience was good. They do a very good job of listening. Communication is good. It's actually in an older building. So it's not quite as clean as some of the other locations I've seen. That would be the only thing I really had against them. I don't remember having to wait at all.

    Wow!  I am so impressed with Kaiser!  The Kaiser system is such an amazing innovation.  It is a million times better than the way everyone else does things. 
    The thing about Kaiser is that it is a complete, enclosed ecosystem.  There is one Kaiser building - just one.  You walk in those doors and all your medical needs are taken care of, right in the one building.  I went up to see my new doctor on level 2.  She recommended an OB/GYN visit, which would happen on level 3.  Then, I could go to level 1 and get my prescription.  The building also contains eye doctors, urgent care, medical imaging, and pretty much everything else. 
    Also, everything is interconnected.  When my doctor refilled my blood pressure medication, she didn't give me a piece of paper to carry to the pharmacy.  Instead, she just tapped a few keys and the pharmacy knew all about it.  By the time I got downstairs, my medication was ready.  Just like that. 
    Furthermore, and this is the best part of all, though it's true of all Kaiser care: you can see your tests online.  And yes, you can see your ACTUAL test results.  At my previous doctor, they would call and tell you call back, then not be able to talk when you called, and you'd play tag for a while until they finally told you something vague like "all the numbers look fine" or whatever.  Sure, they would let you have a photocopy if you made a big deal out of it, but they really didn't want to.  Here at Kaiser, on the other hand, your results are on your online account.  Just like that, no hassle. 
    I won't lie.  When I picked the Kaiser insurance, I thought I was settling for some less than what I'd had before.  I was afraid I would be 'stuck' in a limited network and unable to get good care.  I was SO WRONG.  That limited network bit is true, but it's a very good thing.  Everything just clicks together.  They really thought through the patient experience and made everything as easy and as accessible as possible. 
    Anywhere else, you have to run all over town to cover everything.  I mean, you see your doctor over here in this building, but then your pharmacy is several blocks away, right?  And not only that, but you have to bring your prescription to them and then wait for them to fill it, because they have no way of knowing you're coming or what you want.  You could try to get your doctor to call the prescription over, and maybe that would work great, but maybe it won't.  Kaiser is just... better.  More convenient.  Simpler.  Easier.  Less hassle.  All the good, none of the bad.

    . Before our appointments, we downloaded all required forms from the Pr. Wm. Family Medicine website.  Having completed this info saved us AND the office a lot of time.  (The transfer of this info to our records was not completely accurate but we will follow up with these corrections...)

    Our time was valued and all staff were easy to speak to.  We were comfortable asking questions.

    Dr. Gill seemed very thorough and was pleasant.  We will be glad to consider her our primary physician.

    Follow-up from the lab work was prompt and helpful.  We were each given a personal id# to access their website for general and personal information (including lab work and doctor suggestions).  This should be a good way to keep track of appointments, lab results and interaction with the doctor.

    He seems to be very good. He doesn't work full time anymore; he is an older man. But if he can't see us at a particular time, he has got a highly competent nurse practitioner who can do exams and things like that. As far as getting us in to get examined when we are in the waiting room, I have waited a little bit sometimes there. I have gone in and waited a little bit inside before I see him.

    It was probably a fairly large family practice. I think, they have about 15 doctors, and wise and practical nurses. There is one particular doctor that we had used before he joined the Bull Run Family Practice. So, now we are still using him and part of the bigger practice and occasionally we use other doctors in the practice. They have been pretty good.

    I was able to get an appointment within one day after I called. Office staff very courteous and helpful. Dr. Kent is very thorough and a great diagnostician. Through the years I have come to appreciate him very much. I trust him and value his forthright manner.
