    Brown's Manassas Subaru
    Without any warning whatsoever, Brown's increased the price of a simple oil change from about $46 (in late October 2018) to more than $70 (in early February 2019). Note, this was for regular oil, not synthetic oil. The increase was due to an increase in labor charge, from about $13 to $30. The materials and waste disposal charges did not change. I have been a customer of Brown's for more than 15 years, getting regular oil changes about every three months. I have never before with them experienced such a huge, sudden increase in price. Worse, and unforgivably, this increase was UNDISCLOSED prior to presentation of the bill after the service was completed. In addition, I have down-rated Brown's on punctuality, because despite having arrived early for my appointment, the usual half hour service time for oil change stretched into over one hour, making me late for another appointment.

    Lake Ridge Auto Care
    I contacted Lake Ridge Auto Care and they told me to bring it by. They took in in fairly promptly for the amount of customers they had waiting. (it was the last day of November inspections) Turned out the nail didn't go all the way through. The mechanic pulled it out and they tested the tire for leaks, found none and leveled off the air pressure in all four tires. When I went to pay, they told me no charge! I've been going here for over 25 years. This is why I will always come back to Lake Ridge Auto Care. They take care of their customers.

    Brown's Manassas Subaru
    I made an appointment for a week later at a specific time and day. They gave me a loaner car. I didn't know at the time that getting a loaner car means it could take days before they even look at your car. I thought an appt meant they would look at your car at the appointed time. So, 2 days later, they still haven't even looked at my car. I am picking it up likely without it ever being looked at this afternoon and taking is elsewhere. When I asked about my car, the lady I spoke with was very rude about their "policies that should have been explained to me".

    FRANK'S AUTO SERVICE & REPAIR
    I took my wife's car there for an alignment. They phoned me and told me the work was done. We went to the shop and paid the bill. On the way out, I noticed that the left front and right front Camber were RED which means NOT ALIGNED. We returned and the young technician said that he had not done it because it required shims and he did not have any. He said he had done it to get it done fast and that most people did not care. When it became apparent that we did care, he said he would have Frank talk to us. He said he he needed a Toyota kit to fix it and they did not usually have it in stock and it would be a special order. He wanted to blame it on 1) car wreck ( not true), 2) heavy loading of the car and 3) prior owner (we bought it new). He did admit that Camber out of tolerance would cause tire wear. I am very unhappy that I paid for an alignment and my car is NOT aligned. I think they should have called me about the situation and discussed options with me. Instead, they did not disclose the problem that they had found and passed the car back to us as aligned. When confronted with their decit, they were not interested in fixing it I wrote a complaint to the better business bureau. Frank's did not respond to the complaint or a BBB followup.

    This was arguably one of the worst retail experiences I have ever had. My initial interaction began as pleasant and friendly one, with helpful input from the store employees. After discussing different options regarding my purchase, I settled on products, services and price. I did not negotiate on the price, and was a little taken back that I was asked to pay 100% up front. I typically treat this as an indicator of a poorly run and underfunded business; but I reluctantly agreed based on the initial friendly and helpful interaction I just experienced. However, over the next couple months it took to complete what is really some straight forward vehicle modifications, the experience got progressively worse. Phone calls which were promised to either begin work or update progress were rarely made. I had to initiate most of the necessary communication. Most frustrating were the promised call backs before COB, which never occurred. The customer service aspect of this business is abysmal. The service aspect is not much better. When my vehicle was returned to me after the first visit, it was flat out a danger to drive. Suspension components were loose, and the vehicle was impossible to steer safely. There was 90�� - 120�� of slop in the steering wheel which they tried to blame on worn steering components (tie rods, ball joints, steering box) I had only one worn component, a tie rod end, but even if all the steering components were worn, it would only account for a maximum of 15�� - 20�� of steering slop. I repeatedly stated that they left something loose, and they refused to acknowledge my point until I emphatically demanded they take me seriously. I'm experienced at this work personally, and did not accept their nonchalant attitudes and explanations. Reluctantly they test drove the vehicle, and accepted that something was amiss. They tightened some components, but would not tell me what they were and sent me away with an upside down steering wheel. I ended up having to pay a more reputable establishment to correct the steering alignment. On my second visit to have the exhaust completed, (a visit they would commit and then de-commit on dates), they took it upon themselves to install an exhaust system completely not appropriate for a diesel engine, or even close to what I asked and paid for. When I questioned them as to why they did not install what I asked for, they blatantly lied to me and told me it was a performance enhancing package, and refused to offer any further explanation. They reduced the size of the exhaust size, which in turn caused increased exhaust gas temperatures by 150�� to 200��; decreased performance as any diesel expert would confirm. The business will make the statement "We stand behind our work!". However they are contentious to deal with if you question their actions, and will devise these erroneous explanations for basic questions with no real correlation to the facts. If you are not experienced with vehicles, and have an issue with your installation, this business will likely explain away your concerns with erroneous non-truths. Its insulting to an experienced individual, and demeaning to those who are not as experienced. I admittedly became very angry with their actions and lies, and have drawn a very hard line in my interactions and communications with them.

    The Assistant Sales Manager, Nick was short and rude upon arrival. In addition to my three work requests for which the appointment had been scheduled, Nick highly recommended two other service items which I declined. While I was removing my key from my key ring, he reached over and took my keys from my hand. After realizing what had just happened, I told him I changed my mind and requested that he remove the oil change from my work order. The oil change was the only service for which I was to be charged, the other two were a factory recall modification and a complimentary incentive for Hendrick Honda Auto Sales Customers. Without telling Nick, I thought there is no way I am overpaying for an oil change in this place to continue to receive a rude attitude that got worse when he realized I was not going to be sold any extra services. Basically, Nick lost the one sale of an oil change for the service department with his behavior. He also lost the confidence of a loyal Honda owner in Hendrick Honda over an oil change.

    the service was exemplary the staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The performed the repairs quickly and efficiently. The folks at Sudley Car Care Center were wonderful and provided us a lot of options for repair and in on case the repair did not work so they fixed the issue and covered the labor. I intend on using them for all of our car repair needs going foreword I cant recommend them enough

    At first he said he couldn't help us. We talked with him for a minute and he grabbed a mechanic and checked the status of the light. He found out it was a spark plug and advised that it would further damage the engine if we continued driving it. He was able to help us with the insurance company and renting a car. We ended up staying the night and the car was done the next day. If I lived closer to them they would get all of my maintenance work.

    Valvoline Instant Oil Change
    I go to Valvoline for oil changes and tire rotations. The quality of work would be a D because they had filled the car with the oil before they should have. So, they had to let all of that run back out and then refill it. They didn't explain to me until I ask why it was taking twice as long as it should have and why we had a lot of people like gathered around looking into my car. I haven't decided if I would use them again. I had good service from them before. This past time there seemed to be a lot of techs just standing around talking to each other and not paying attention to what they should be doing. They made a mistake with my car and luckily it wasn't a permanent mistake, but it definitely was a mistake. So, there was a lot of socializing going on this past time, I had never seen that before. The gentle that talked to me and took my information, he was fine he was very professional, but I think he was leaving. I think it was his last week. This last time I'm really questioning if I should go back there.

    I had been taking my Honda cars for servicing to Koons Honda in Manassas for a very long time. The Odyssey I bought in 2006 had an air conditioning issue which while under warranty was never really fixed, though they "attempted" at least 3 times by replacing fans or filling fluids. Every time they did something to it it worked for a month or so then stopped working. I learned of a different place to get my car serviced in the last year or so and went there. I asked them to fix my AC once. Thank the Lord, it has not needed more fixing. They replaced the motors. Amazing. I never wanted to go back to Koons, however, it seems my car found itself in their hands again. The service was allighnment of my tires which i had had replaced due to baldness and oil change. The person that worked on my car said there was a noise near one of the tires. I had heard the noise myself. So I asked them to print out the info that came with the report they do each time they do maintenance from the equipment they use to analyze the cars issues right? When I picked up my car there was nothing in the report about the noise. Nothing in the reciept about the noise. There was a report that my front tires were bald and my CV boots were leaking. Funny, I had just replaced the tires and had the CV boots replaced. I asked him why the report said the cv boots were leaking. He said it was checked visually. I asked him why there would be a report that they were leaking when I had just had them replaced. He kind of stuttered. I guess this leads me to wonder why they had made these claims. The only thing I can figure is that they did not run the test. I have to question what else they didn't do. Yes, they make maintenance easy and are comforting when they "work" on your car. But what do they really do? I'd have to say I question the work they do. The report that they sent home with me seemed innacurate to say the least. It certainly didn't mention the issue about the noise near the tire. Was that caused by misallignment of my new tires which they said were bald? It had been a very long time since I'd been to Koons. I had taken 3 Honda cars there since 2000. I was really disapointed that after a year or so away they wouldn't run the test and get a new report. I had really trusted them all those other years.
