Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Lynchburg

    HAMCO DOOR SYSTEMS INC
A technician came the next morning and performed a temporary fix. The following business day two technicians came with the necessary parts to fix the problem. They also inspected the door and opener for any other issues, and lubricated the door. They answered all my questions and were very polite. Also, even though the repair required two trips, HAMCO only charged for one service call. I would definitely use them again!

Several complicating factors in this. Firstly, AGD was actually a subcontractor to my garage builder. Secondly, I ordered rollup doors rather thAn the usual sectional doors...which causes the use of a different, unfamiliar supplier. In hindsight, it is clear they had problems getting the materials. Still, I think a more aggressive approach at sorting through his supplier problems might have made this go more smoothly. Contract signing to delivery ultimately took about three months. We had expected delivery in 4-6 weeks. Neither my contractor not I knew exactly what was going on in the interim. When the doors did arrive, the installation was prompt and professional. My only issue was the delay. That issue posed at least as much a problem for my garage builder as it did for me. He could not complete his contract, but was otherwise finished.

Called Wednesday, arranged appointment for the next day at 10:00. The tech called at 09:00 to ask if it would be acceptable to arrive early at 09:30. The techs arrived promptly at 09:30, inspected the situation, took some measurements, and said they would be back in about an hour after making the spring in their shop. They returned in about an hour, removed the broken spring, installed the new one, and balanced the door. They then checked the opener and overall function. Prompt, professional, thourough, and quite knowledgeable, Total price was quoted before work began.

    Home Town Garage Doors
They came out in May, 1013 and installed a new garage door.  The old one had broken.  I noticed shortly thereafter that the door jerked a lot as it went up.  We let it go until July when I called them about the problem.  They sent a man out and he said it must be the rubber around the door which they did not replace.  It said it was too tight and he said a little silacone grease would fix it. It did not but because we were out of town much of the summer, I did not call them again until October.  They sent a man out. He said everything was as it should be and offered 2 possible solutions.  If I did not want to have them replace the rollers or the garage door opener, I could pay the $55. service fee for coming out.  I said I was not paying them any more since the door was not working as it should.  He tried to tell it was normal and put in correctly.  We had words.  He quoted me a price of $616. for a new opener and I told him no.
I called another company to see what they would charge to take a look at it.  They came out no charge.  They found that the door was not level and that the rubber around the door should have been replace with the door.  Also, the track that the rollers run on had only one place of attachment and it should have a minimum of two.  They fixed all the problems, no charge and the door is going up and down smoothly not.  I also had them put in a new opener and they only charged me $375. and not the $616. quoted by these people.  I would not recommend these people to any one.

I do highly recommend this company for anything to do with a garage door.  They came the same day I called. Even though they did not install the garage door, they came by and checked to see why it was not working properly, fixed all the things that the other company did wrong, adjusted everything and I had them put in a new operator.  They other company when I called them out because the garage was not going up and down properly said it may be the operator and quoted me a price of $616. plus they wanted another $55 for the service call.  I said I would not pay them another penny.  I called Anderson Garage Door, not only did they come out at the end of the day, same day, they adjusted the other peoples door to make it go up and down smoothly but they put a new operator in for much less.  These are the people to call for a garage door.

    Anderson Garage Door
Mr. Anderson was professional and prompt.  The spring broke on a Saturday when I wasn't home, trapping our car in the garage.  My wife called on a Satuday evening and he returned the call within 5 minutes, willing to come out that night.  Since it wasn't an emergency, she said Sunday would be fine.  He arrived promptly, measured and completed the job efficiently and then helped adjust the opener so the door closed completely.  Excellent customer service and a professional job!

Things went excellent with them.  One panel was put in down too low.  So we called them and they came right back and fixed it right away.  I don’t think that they made a mistake; it was more of an aesthetic thing.  They did it in a day and it was not a long wait time.  We had researched other places and their price was reasonable.  Their cost was on the lower side of normal.

    LOWE'S
trying to contact me. Really? I don't think so, since I have been getting everyone calls and messages just fine. Anyway, he said the soonest he could come would be on a Wednesday and this was just to inspect it to see what materials were needed. He came and made a list of things I needed to purchase from Lowe's and said he would fax it over to them that day so that I could go and purchase the garage door opener. Thinking about how bad this was going already, I called the installation desk in advance before going to Lowe's. They did not have the fax yet, so I waited till Thursday afternoon and went to Lowe's to purchase what was needed. They were just working on the list when I arrived. The staff at the installation desk were very friendly and helpful. Friday came, 9:45 was the time my installer was to show up. He never did show up and I called Lowe's to let them know. Lowe's told me they would try to locate the installer and call me back. I got a call back with a nice apology and was told that they could not get a hold of him. I got the impression that this is the only man they use, because no one seem to care that much about my sitution or want to have another installer come the next day. I decided that I did not want to wait till Monday hoping that this installer would show up, nor did I want him to work on my garage. How can you trust people like that? So I returned everything and I was able to have credit back from the store for the installation as well.
This was my first experience with Lowe's in Madison Heights. I had just moved into the surrounding area and bought an older home that needs lots of remodeling and updates. Kitchen and Bath, things like that. I was looking forward to having Lowe's so close by and using their services, but after this I really do not trust them enough with the details and who their installers may be. I will continue to shop there but I don't have the nerve to have them do anything major.

My car was trapped in my garage. They arrived on time, measured, and replaced the spring within an hour and half. Team was very friendly and efficient.
