Tire Buying And Repair reviews in Lynchburg

When you go in there, they try to sell you on other things, that is nice and polite, but i'd rather not have all questions when i go in for service. Other than that, their fine and they do it quick. In and Out. They are always on time, and quick with their service. Friendly, and efficient.

Excellent company.  We have been going to them for years.  This last time was a little expensive, but it was an SUV with bigger tires. They give free rotations and balance with tires.  They accomodate my schedule and give great service.

They were not timely in doing the work or getting our car returned to us. Customer service left much to be desired. Shortly afterwards we had issues with the new tires. It was not pleasant to attempt to get that situation worked out.

After working with a number of tire shops in the area, I finally settled on Lynchburg Tire as the one I trust most. They always offer good advice on tires, good prices, and quick service. Have been using them for over 10 years now.

It went well. It was a basic service. My only issue was the time with which it took to complete the work. When I dropped the car off, without an appointment, at approx. 1030 am, I was told that it would be 1.5 - 2 hrs before they could get the car in for the inspection. OK, that's fine. However, approx. 4 hours later, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called and after a short hold, was told that my car was only just then being pulled into the bay to be inspected.
I understand that repairs can on occasion take more time than expected, but there is a significant difference between the time quoted and the time of actual service being performed. In my opinion, a courtesy call would have been nice, explaining that issues had arisen that pushed back the repair time.
That being said, it's not the first time that I've had work done at this shop and it will not be the last. The time issue aside, this shop does good work and the personnel are always polite and professional.

The service it'self was good, including the tech but their batteries are of poor quality. Having purchase 3 in the last 5 years I have decided on the dealerships instead. They carry brand name batteries but the life of them has average 2 year and I have had to replaced them. In fairness, I am not too sure it's there fault but one has to wonder. I have never mind paying a price for an item but do expect it to last longer than that. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.

I am very happy with them. They are very good. I used them a couple weeks ago and a year ago before that so I have used them a couple times. My experience with them is excellent and their pricing is also excellent. They did respond. I would use them again.

Really pleased with AID Tire! My 16-year-old had backed over our rock wall (don't ask!) and was having her first "learning opportunity" about car repair. I knew we couldn't drive the car, but was unsure as to whether I needed to tow to a repair shop or body shop. After calling several places, I decided on AID Tire and Auto Repair. The lady was very understanding and said if it needed body work, there was one down the street and she would just charge $25 for the assessment (it would have to be raised, etc.). Turned out to need tire, rear strut and four wheel alignment and they even found a $100 used RR strut for us. Quickly done, too. They were both understanding and instructive when my daughter and I picked it up. They did a line-by-line review of charges with her, explaining what it meant, why it had to be done, and how labor charges are figured. They even laughed with us when I had to pry my daughter's debit card out of her hand to pay the bill! I was extremely pleased and will return to them when I have another need. I know they do more than tire work, but I'm not sure of exactly what else they do. But I will definitely call them for my next car problem!

For about eight years I have gone to no other auto service place most of that time and if I did it was only because I was out of town. These people not just do the job but they offer something that is almost impossible to find in many places...customer service. They will pick the car up if needed and tow it or start it and drive it away to see to whatever it might need. If extreme costs can be avoided, they will see to it. Yes, they do want to have a steady stream of business but they will still do their best to be as fair as possible and just the service they give a customer will keep me going there over and over or anything the car might need to keep it on the road for as many miles or years I want from it. Transmissions, oil changes, tires, and more. Oh....the A/C. Kerr is the only place that is worth the little of money I could afford to spend on this old white beast of a car I drive.

Yes...the first car died pretty fast but it was a tough bit of news. It was hard to give up a Caddy. Still, Kerr was honest with the transmission problems going on or the computer in the car.

The Caravan was even purchased from Kerr and has been on the road and reliability coming from the car I owe in part to Kerr since I made it clear that I wanted to keep it on the road as long as I could. Any time I brought that car in for inspections, the little things that didn't cost an arm and leg were done within the limits of my budget. They have bent over backwards to help and be totally honest and good what they do.
