    STEELE'S BODY SHOP
It went great. Allen took the time to talk to me and explain what they were going to do, approximately how long it was going to take and quoted a price. It ended up costing a little more, but he had to do a little more painting and he had told me that he might have to. The color blended fantastically (my Tahoe is 11 years old) and it looks beautiful. Hopefully I wont heave to, but if i needed another paint job I would absolutely use them again.

    Craft Collision Center
truly believe this body shop cuts corners , lies and manipulates its customers . They also obtain Cash payouts from insurance companies saying one thing and they do another . The repairs promised and putting the car back in its condition prior to accident where not done . Also reviews online about this body shop from carwise.com are fake . Carwise.com generated thousands of fake reviews for a cost paid by this body shop . Real reviews can be found after more in depth research such as a website called Birdseye . The company does a great job at hiding its bad reviews . They also hired a real good sales person to be the general manger who is a lying snake . No one at the body shop takes accountability and the treatment I endured is so intolerable that I just don't want other consumers to face the same . After they had my Mercedes for 2 months I go and pick it up . Due to working out of state temporarily I had to rush back . After just a few days I noticed a cheap paint job, missing car decal on the back , damage to a vital hose in the engine bay , back headlight not working , hardtop convertable not put back together properly and the car absolutely filthy and covered in dirt and oil . Due to work I was not able to get these repairs fixed right away . Today the convertable top mafunctioned and would not open . Leaving me stranded with rain pouring into the car . Opened the trunk and hydrolic fluid was all over the place and there where serious problems . This was due to sloppy , poor and misleading work . Their commercials , motto and what they present is a lie . This business needs to be exposed for what they are doing . They did the same thing to my claims adjuster . There are also poor reviews on their fb page from prior employees . Saying all sorts of bad stuff . In summary you guys need to know about carwise and their thousands of fake reviews and this awful body shop that hides behind a nice sign and business space .

    Craft Collision Center
First, this review pertains to work done at the Forest Brook shop of Craft Collision.
I am a VW enthusiast and very particular about any work done on my car. So when I had the unfortunate mishap with my little Beetle coupe it was imperative for me to have it restored to "as new" condition with OEM parts. I followed the recommendation offered to me by the Service Mgr where I have my vehicle serviced. I've known him for years and have always been able to rely on his judgment with confidence. He recommended Craft Collision and I followed through with them even though they were not on the list of "preferred providers" from my insurance company.
I was lucky enough to have an insurance adjuster who was willing to work with me and Travis/Jordan at Craft Collision to arrive at an estimate that satisfied my requirement for OEM parts. I believe that because Craft Collision was not in the "network" my insurer uses, this virtually trouble-free negotiation was a crucial part in making this such a satisfying experience. In addition, there were some very modest, but custom, features that were not covered by insurance but that the guys at Craft addressed for me beautifully with minimal additional cost.
When I picked up my coupe it was like it had just come off the new car lot. Spotless inside and out. The color and clear coat so flawlessly matched that even the dealer couldn't tell it had been repaired. I couldn't be more completely satisfied. The personnel at Craft were courteous and pleasant to work with. I received daily updates electronically on the progress of the repairs and the work was done as promised and on time. They have my highest recommendation and appreciation.

    THOMPSONS AUTO BODY

It went fabulously! He saved us, immediately after we asked ,from having to tow the vehicle since we had trouble getting a tow.

Completed the job one day early because he knew we needed the vehicle. Did a fantastic job (see above). The car looks like new.  The owner - Ed Thompson is professional- personable-and as accomodating as could be. He was referred to us by a close friend who has his own shop, but cannot do body work. He also included a repair of the rear bumper cover at no cost.

    Lack Auto Service
The service was great. They fulfilled exactly what they said they would. They worked with me. They waited for the insurance to come through. They worked very well with me in particular with things I wanted done. They were very honest in their appraisal of the problem. They were not looking to make extra money. That was really important to me. They had the customer in mind. I always recommend them.

Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting in Lynchbur
.My vehicle is an 11 year old suv with clearcoat peeling.  I bought the vehicle new and it has 115,000 miles and well maintained. Aprox. book value is $5000 so not wise to pay half the value for paint.  I believe Macco is made for this situation.  I had estimates of $2500 to $3500 from other auto paint companies.  I understand you get what you pay for  and I am certain the other companies quoted the way they do the work.  Maaco   mostly  taped , did the prep , and painted the car.  For me, the car looked excellent compared to the way it looked when I took it to Maaco and I am pleased.  The primary question is how long will the paint last.  If that becomes a problem I hope I will have an opportunity to update my review if the problem is not corrected.  Also, I didn't read the full warranty until after having the job completed.  While the warranty is for 5 years, it is prorated after 3 years.  I believe this should have been stated before the work was done but mostly I hope this won't be an issue

    SANDROF AUTO BODY
Sandrofs is hands-down Lynchburgs best auto body and paint facility, and it has been that way for many years. They match paint perfectly and guarantee their work no questions asked. Although my most recent job was a relatively simple plastic bumper replacement and paint job, I was given a quote on Friday brought it in after hours Tuesday evening leaving the key in the drop box got it back Wednesday afternoon. Hows that for service? The estimate was made by someone that knew what he was doing, and genuine OEM parts were used. The facility is modern, and the staff is courteous and professional. I have had the misfortune of using other shops in this area and have come away disappointed. One time I was in a hurry, and Sandrofs was tied up with work during the deer collision season that goes from the late fall into the winter. I went to another recommended facility and was bogged down with incorrect parts being ordered due to ineptitude and a paint job I never was particularly happy with. If I had gone ahead and stuck with Sandrofs, I would have gotten the vehicle back sooner even with their backload of work than I did with the other shop. I wont make that mistake again. I have never, ever been disappointed with Sandrofs. They are good, honest people and can be trusted with your major investment.

    RICK'S UPHOLSTERY SHOP

I had Ricks Upholstery Shop upholster the seats on my boat. I took the seats to him primarily because I did not want to leave my boat in the area in which the shop is located. I said that I wanted the wood frame of the seat replaced and wanted to use marine grade plywood. Rick looked at the seats and said he would replace the frame if I supplied the wood ($75.00) and he told me what thickness to buy. I supplied the wood and seats. I also pointed out three grommets where mounting screws were installed and asked that he be sure to install the new ones in the same location. When I picked the seats up I noticed that the grommets were not installed at all. He actually said "What you need to do is just put a screw through the fabric". I let this go and left.
When I tried to install the seats they would not fit. It is a bench seat with 3 hinged seat bottoms. The seat would not fit because he had made the bar that the hinges mounted to about 1.5" too long. After looking at the seats closely it was obvious that this bar was the ONLY wood he had replaced. The passenger side seat back was getting weak and I wanted it replaced. I cut my own piece of wood for the bar and took the seats back.

When I picked the seats up the second time he had not replaced the wood but rather only added plywood over the existing seat back wood. He had also not used the marine plywood I furnished. I asked for, and received this wood back. I was so sick of dealing with this shop I took the seats and left (also because I needed the boat the next weekend).

The seats have three different colored stripes. When I installed everything not only did the stripes NOT line up between the back and the bottom, they weren?t even the same widths. The seat bottoms cannot be moved from one location to the next because of shape; consequently, it is not a matter of placing them in the correct location. The stripes vary at least ½? along the seat back and along the bottoms.

He did not cut the wood correctly. He did not cut the fabric correctly. He did not align mating sections correctly. He did not do the work that he had agreed to do and that I paid for.

I did not take him to court. I did not have the time. I hope this review prevents someone from having to deal with such pathetic workmanship.
