The initial phone call with the gentlemen from the company assured me that I was in great hands. Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable about there areas of expertise. I will definitely use this company again and recommend them to all of my friends, family, and co-workers. They were excellent!

    JW Home Improvement
Great! Everything was completed to my satisfaction and on time. I would definitely recommend JW Home Improvement to all. Oh and by the way there was no air conditioning in my house on that particular day but it was cool outside so there was only slight breezes entering the windows.

It was done when it was said it'd be done, fence/siding fix is fine although painting was not very good. Wanted exterior trim painted on, although dark beige is clearly visible on the interior of my door frames with doors closed. Insufficient coats of paint were applied to trim requiring me to add two additional coats on all trim in front of house...I didn't make an effort to re-paint back but it needs it as well. Front door paint is wrong cutter (relative to shutters); I purchased paint but it would have been nice to have been advised of this rather than finishing with the wrong color. I took an L on all paint and should have just done it myself.

    Helping Hands Handyman Services LLC
Contacted Mr. Best (Helping Hands) and scheduled several upgrades to our condo which had to be performed on a specific day due to multiple vendors working on the space.  Mr. Best arrived on time and reviewed all the work that needed to be performed.  Since we had several other contractors arriving to perform work on the same day in the same space he determined what order the work needed to be done.  While Mr. Best was working he explained and ask questions about each task to make sure we new what he was doing to make sure the completed project was what we wanted and expected.  Each task was done correctly and Mr. Best performed the work quickly and efficiently.  I had used Helping Hands previously while selling my house in 2014 and had a great experience.  I would like to note that while working on my condo I had another contractor (Plumber) on site to replace the main water valve.  I asked the plumber what he would charge to remove and install the new double faucets on a new double vanity sink and to replace four additional water valves if the valves needed to be replaced.  The plumber looked at the valves and said that they needed to be replaced and he would charge $1200.00 to replace four water valves and to install two faucets.  Mr. Best pulled me aside and informed me that the four water valves did not need to be replaced and that he would install the new faucets on the new double vanity within his hourly charge.  Mr. Best personally saved me over $700.00.  I would highly recommend Helping Hands and I will continue to use Helping Hand whenever I need work performed around my home.

The problems began once the order had been made. He called for an appointment for installation and he didn't show up or call to notify us that he wouldn't be coming. After about a week, we called him. He claimed to not know who we were. Then he eventually "remembered" and we set up another appointment. That morning he called to say someone else was coming to install and had just left for our house. Three hours later the substitute arrived. He was a very nice, polite young man who actually did a good job with the installation. The problem was that the blinds were not what was ordered. I believe the salesperson knew that, which was why he sent someone else to install.  I called him, he refused to deal with me, saying I could get an attorney if I wanted. He said that what I ordered was on the sales receipt. What was on the sales sheet was technically correct. They were the right shades and the correct window measurements. What was wrong was what he didn't document. I showed him the other shades in my house  that all have one top bar that spans both windows, with separate functioning shades for each window; two wooden shades per bar.  What was delivered and installed was one shade that is over 60" wide. Too heavy to function properly.

He was willing to speak with my husband (a male) and told both of us on speaker that the shades have a lifetime warranty. If they didn't work he would come back to fix them every time.  When we told him that we hadn't received a warranty he said it was in the box. What was in the box is not a lifetime warranty. We asked to speak to a supervisor, and he told us he was the president of the company.

Do not deal with this company. He is dishonest and refuses to take responsibility for his errors, leaving us with malfunctioning $1500 shades. I've also learned to be cautious of companies that don't accept credit cards, which not only give you the protection of freezing payment, but give you extended warranties in most cases.

    Budget Blinds of Stafford VA
Roger came to my home to give an estimate for new blinds. At first, I was just planning to get them for the livingroom and master bedroom. After looking at many samples and crunching the numbers, I found that in addition to my original plan, I was able to afford to get 2 sets of vertical blinds, upgrade to a cellular shade in the master bedroom, and get blinds for the other 2 bedrooms. I even upgraded to real wood blinds on all previously mentioned windows.
Roger was wonderful from start to finish! He arrived on time and was very patient with me when making my selections. He gave me prices, and I found I could get even more than I originally wanted! He told me the products would be ready in 2-3 weeks. He was right. He called me when they were ready and we set up a time for installation at my convenience.
When Roger arrived to do the installation, he was right on time. I was having trouble with my storm door, and before he started the installation, he fixed my door! He installed all of the products quickly and efficiently. He is very personable and a pleasure to be around.
I would definitely recommend him to others in need of window coverings.
    Entire experience was great!

    Next Day Blinds - Fairfax
We use the Nextday Blinds store on Washington Street (801 I believe) in Old Town Alexandria and have been pleased with their work in the past.  The store manager was very helpful, though we pretty much knew what we wanted when we started out.  The technician arrived on time to do measurements and ther installer actually called to see if he could come early -- to which we of course said yes.  This is the third time we've used Nextday Blinds and continue to be pleased with their work.

    Well-Dressed Home
I called Betty and she responded quickly.  We started with the Master Bedroom.  I described the color and type material I was looking for over the phone to Betty and she arrived at my home with wonderful fabric choices.  It was an easy decision.  She followed up with selections for the rods and finials.  I was thrilled when she returned with beautifully sewn drapes.  We moved onto my Sun Room which was difficult because of the slightly dropped ceiling in the center portion of the room due to the duct work.  Betty provided me with the perfect fabric to complement the furniture coverings.  The rods matched my rattan furniture and she was very creative in working around the dropped ceiling.  She also created distinctive valances for my Study.  I have a large home and Betty has made window coverings for 13 windows so far, some of which are double and triple size windows.  She will be returning shortly to start working on window treatments for the Computer Room and associated closet and bathroom.  Her turnaround time is very reasonable and she keeps you abreast of the progress.  Betty is delightful to work with and makes the project stress free.  Her prices are reasonable and she will work within your budget.  I would highly recommend her services to friends and family.  I wish I had found her sooner.  She is an excellent seamstress and the quality can't be beat!!

    Robert Shoemaker Installations
I met Robert thru the individual who made my custom drapes. He has extensive experience in hanging window treatments, is very precise with placement of rods and the finishing touches needed to make the drapes hang beautifully. I called Robert again to schedule the hanging of many pictures and wall decor in my home. He returned my call promptly, scheduled a date and time, and arrived as promised. Once again he did a great job with the placement of all my wall decor. I am having additional drapes custom made for other rooms in my home and Robert will be returning to install those as well. I highly recommend Robert. He is a joy to work with, his prices are very reasonable and I know when he does a job it will be done the right way! He takes great pride in his work. The cost that appears in this report was for both the hanging of drapes as well as pictures and wall decor.

    The Louver Shop Washington DC
I went to look for window treatments at a place with a showroom. They quoted me $200 for two windows. The man from the Louver Shop quoted me half of that. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to hire him, because I have seen his work. He is very accommodating on the phone. He is very knowledgeable.
