    AuPurr Cat Care
Tom from Aupurr cat care has been helping us for years. He comes to our house multiple times a day while we are gone to feed, change litter box and play with our cat. He is reliable, messages me everytime, and takes very good care of our cat and house while we are not there. I trust him fully. He has given us such good advice as well, telling us about when our cat needs to see the vet and what could potentially be wrong. We are very lucky to have Tom and I highly recommend him (Reena Vora)

Dale City Animal Hospital - Woodbridge
Well, we've been going there for over 3 years now & have no intention of changing. Fees are sometimes a little high but Jake is one of the family so he gets only the best of everything! Fees for services vary depending on the dog & the service.

    The Backyard Pack LLC
We have been boarding our dog at the Backyard Pack for about a year and have been very happy! Our sweet dog has traditionally not enjoyed daycare or boarding, but has no problem walking right in to play here! The dogs get individual walks, which is perfect for dogs who need a bit of reprieve from the chaos of daycare, and Laurie also has lots of advice, especially about nutrition.

    Nova Mobile Vet
My husband and I originally began using Nova Mobile Vet because one of our two cats struggled greatly when traveling to vet appointments and we thought having a vet come to our house was a great solution. Routine exams for our cats went as expected, so we decided to use Nova Mobile Vet for our new rescue dog, as well. Below I have listed issues we began to have with Nova Mobile Vet, the most severe of which led us to discontinue trusting them with the health of our pets entirely: -INCOMPETENCE: We brought our dog to Nova Mobile Vet upwards of 5 times over the course of approximately 20 months. Each appointment would reveal that she had gained more weight, even though we had put her on a diet (of high quality dog food) and walked her 2-3 miles per day (sometimes more). Dr. Cryan continued to push dieting as the solution without any further suggestions or thoughts on other contributing factors. When we finally decided to take her to another vet, they immediately suggested a blood test to confirm whether or not she had a thyroid problem. Guess what? She did. -NEGLIGENCE: We had asked Dr. Cryan to look at our dog's teeth a number of times during multiple appointments, as we had noticed that she had very bad breath (that was unaltered by general dental hygiene) and some teeth seemed to be chipped and others possibly fractured. He continually insisted that he wouldn't be able to give us an accurate assessment until he did a full teeth cleaning on her, which he noted was not a service that was urgent. During our last appointment with Dr. Cryan we asked him to really look in her mouth (which he said he did and we trusted, given he tended to take our dog in a separate room - without us - for treatment and in-depth exams) and he said all looked fine and that we could schedule a dental cleaning for her in the spring (it was fall at the time). Two weeks later, we could tell there was something wrong with her teeth as she seemed to be in severe pain. We took her to a different vet after calling Nova Mobile Vet and being told the earliest she could be seen was 12 hours later. She had newly fractured back tooth (which we know could have happened after our appointment with Dr. Cryan) but she also had a very apparent rotting back tooth and a fractured canine tooth, both of which the new vet pointed out to us immediately. We no longer trust that Dr. Cryan really looked at our dog's teeth, as he said he did. -NEGLIGENCE and INCOMPETENCE: Our dog had build up in her ears from her first appointment to her last with Dr. Cryan. He told us they just needed to be cleaned regularly. During our last appointment with Dr. Cryan, we asked that he clean them, as she had gotten quite sensitive to us cleaning her ears and we wanted to make sure she wasn't uncomfortable and the cleaning was done correctly. He cleaned them (in the private room) and charged us for it. Two weeks later, at a different vet, we find out she has a bad ear infection, and that the ear build up she had throughout her visits with Dr. Cryan was a sign of infection. An infection was never brought to our attention as a possibility through our numerous visits with Dr. Cryan. -INCONSIDERATION: Part 1 - Just after adopting our dog, we asked Dr. Cryan if we should put our indoor cats on flea and tick prevention medication. He said it wasn't necessary and we trusted his opinion. About 6-9 months later, our cat showed symptoms of a parasite, which was confirmed after bringing a fecal sample for testing to Nova Mobile Vet. This parasite was contracted by our cat eating an infected FLEA. Part 2 - Given the possibility that our other cat and dog were in danger of contracting the parasite, Nova Mobile Vet suggested we give them all the medication to kill the parasite. So, we paid for the pills they provided for our cats and dog. When the cats would not take the medication orally, we called Nova Mobile Vet for assistance and they told us that they could administer the medication to our cats via an injection. The fact that there were different ways to administer the medication was never told to us initially. We ended up paying for the oral medication that our cats didn't take, the home visit for Nova Mobile Vet to administer the injections to our cats, and for the injection form of the medication for our cats. -LESSER ISSUES: In our experience, the Nova Mobile Vet staff tended to be short and dismissive over the phone. Dr. Cryan himself tended to be short and dismissive when I spoke to him about concerns related to my dog's health. Dr. Cryan also tended to babble on, making the same point over and over again (these points ended up being incorrect/inaccurate a lot of the time), which was a time wasting annoyance that we knew we would have to put up with every time we asked a basic question related to the health of one of our pets. I am disgusted when I think about the way this practice and this veterinarian put the health of our beloved pets in jeopardy time and time again. I would never recommend their services to another person.

    MINNIEVILLE ANIMAL HOSPITAL
They professionally enduced vomiting and IV treatment. Meanwhile the front desk person calmly provided expected billing and our puppy's need to stay in hospital for 72 hours. Doctors and hospital staff monitored and provided care 24 hours a day. We were invited to visit her during her stay and coordinated with us to be present during feedings so we could take her outside on walks. Finally, they provided everything we needed to file with our pet insurance to insure we received reimbursement.

    ANIMAL MAGIC MOBILE GROOMING
Upon checking Angie's recommendations, I called to schedule the first-ever grooming of my 9-month old border collie/chocolate lab mix. The groomer was interested until I said that my dog was a mix. Then she said, "that's not the kind of dog I do".

Dale City Animal Hospital - Woodbridge
Great! The staff at Noah's Ark/Dale City Animal Hospital are consistently friendly, responsive and easy to communicate with. It took us awhile to warm up, but they've been professionals from the start with both of our pets for the last few years. They clearly care very much about animal well being, and made us laugh during our Saturday appointment when talking about cat enrichment and how another cat to play with (instead of just the dog) may help with energy levels.... All of a sudden, the staff disappear from the exam room, and reappear with a 2 month old calico female whose adoption just fell through a few hours ago. They just left her in there with us! She was energetic, walked right up to our cat, and stole our hearts. We wound up going home with her. :) We didn't have ANY plans to adopt any other animals, but the way they found this kitty a new home while thinking of the well being of our existing cat was clever and cute.

    Dog Tranquility
Colleen is a lovely person who seems to like all dogs. She interacted well with both of mine.  I was truly hoping to find someone who would just take my puppy, train her and bring her home!  Most don't do that at all and the one that did, I could not afford!  But, Colleen was patient with my lack of ability and explained everything thoroughly letting me ask any question I came up with.  She taught me a game to teach the puppy to come when called and that is also going well.  Obviously I have faith in her as we will start on my older dog this week.  He is neurotic and getting worse so hopefully she'll be able to help with that as well. It's more work than I wanted, but it will be worth it if  I can have 2 happy, well trained dogs!  I highly recommend her.

    Dog Eaze Inn
Whenever we take our dog there they greet him by name (he has been there several times) even people that are not in the office know him by name. Other than needing a bath before we pick him up, he does very well. They take care of his medication and make sure he gets the walks we order. I have never had any problem getting him in to stay..even in an emergency situation they took him in. Personnel always seem happy to be working there and love the dogs!
