    Gunston Physical Therapy
Often felt that staff was not attentive enough to me and other patients. Sometimes left unsupervised as I worked through exercises (I observed this with other patients) this left a risk of doing an exercise wrong. I understand the importance of listening to a patient but I found myself concerned with too often being asked what I would like to do as opposed to the therapist making the decision. As a result I feel my recovery has been slow and I may have done exercises that aggravated my back problem. The staff is vey friendly, patient and have a great bedside manner. They are very flexible when scheduling your sessions and I have been able to cancel last minute once or twice without risking being charged for the session.

Everything went well, pain in my hip was relieve.  She used a technique called Spinal Reflex Therapy, she said it was a soft tissue protocol and it did help my hip.  I know that I need more treatments so I will definitely be coming back to Solace Clinical Massage.

    Geer, Dr. James R.
He's excellent! He has technical-scientific approach to his chiropractic work. He's very good at explaining his approach to my needs. I've always enjoyed going to his office and seeing him; it's a friendly environment. He's very punctual. I've referred a lot of people to him. I would definitely use him in the future.

Even though my relative only needed PT while visiting for a few weeks, they treated he wonderfully. Worked with her non-local insurance and got her on a regular schedule. Hand/Wrist specialist was amazing. Put my relative and ease and increased mobility and usage of wrist dramatically in a short timeframe.

The doctor sat down with me and did a very throughout initial assessment and review of their process. He showed authentic concern for issues. Great Job! Since the initial visit, I have been for two other appointments. I am confident that this will become my new regular chiropractor.

I have been to this spa three time over the past few months. My husband and I tried it out for his birthday in June. Then I went again in July and then a few days ago with a co-worker friend of mine. Each visit, I had a different massage therapist. They are all wonderful!
The location is in Burke, which is close to local neighborhoods. I was told on Friday that they are moving to a larger space nearby, by December 2014.
If you like a typical spa environment with showers, sauna's, ect.... then this isn't the place. If you want an incredible massage that relaxes you and helps to melt away the tension, then check it out!
How this place stands apart? The warmth! The ladies that work at the spa are incredibly nice and attentive. They can help you learn what type of massage you would like. They also have lots of extra little touches, such as aromatherapy, warning massage tables, and warn therapy "molds" that they place on your back and on your face. As a person that has trouble relaxing, those touches make it easy!
Cost: All massages are expensive. This spa does accept the spa finder gift cards. You can purchase them at a discounted price at Costco. can buy a monthly subscription.
Booking: I love the online booking function! It makes it so easy and you can have them send you reminder text messages as well.
Check this place out and you will be impressed!

The therapist was prompt and came with all the equipment to include the message table, sheets, and aromatherapy.  She is excellent at her job and will take extra time to get the job done.

When I first got to the spa, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist. I had a seat and waited for my massage therapist to arrive for the morning. Everything about the massgae was great, except I could hear another therapist in the room next to us laughing and carrying on while she was giving a guy a facial. It was so hard to relax. I was so disappointed because it could have been a really great relaxing massage if you couldn't hear through the walls!

Great massage.  Masseuse spent some time asking about aches and pains and what was wanted from the massage.   Very skilled and very friendly.   Planning to schedule more appointments as soon as possible,.

I called mid-week and made an appointment for Saturday. The lady I spoke with on the phone was very nice and helpful.

My husband and I arrived on Saturday afternoon for our appointments. As described by others, the waiting room is right next to the door and the front desk. It was a bit cold sitting by the door because of customers entering and exiting. My husband and I filled out the required forms and waited about 15 minutes before our massage therapist came to get us.

We walked back to separate rooms where we got undressed and laid on the tables. The rooms were nice, good lighting and nice warm tables. Soft music played in the background.

My experience was a bit different from my husbands, so I will compare them. The services we received were the same: 75 minute massage with hot stones. My massage was not that great. I started on my back. My massage therapist rubbed my scalp for a minute, then lightly rubbed my shoulders, arms and legs for a total of about 15 minutes. Every time she needed more lotion, she would walk away to a table at the bottom of my feet to get more lotion. I did request that she apply more pressure, which she did for awhile before she stopped again and I had to request more pressure. Before she had me flip over to my stomach, she went over to a plastic bag, tore the bag open and took something out. I suppose it was the hygienic cover for my face. This did not really add to a relaxing experience. I flipped over and she rubbed on my legs for a bit longer. Barely touching my feet or thighs. Next was my back. She spend at least 2/3 of her time on my back. Not a problem, but the strokes were repetitive and not much focus was paid to my shoulders. Next came the stones. I was really looking forward to this part. Unfortunately, this massage therapist had no idea what she was doing. The stones were in a warmer at a table located at the bottom of my feet. She would walk over to the table, grab two stones, make a pattern down my back, circle my shoulder blades, flip the stones over, repeat the pattern and then walk away to change out the stones. She repeated this pattern over and over. She did not use the stones on any other part of my body and did not pay any attention to the shoulder area. I almost asked her what she was doing and if she was going to use the stones on my arm or leg muscles. Since I was trying to relax, I held out hope that she would move on to another area. In the end, she placed two stones on the back and left the room. I took those two stones and massaged a few sore muscles on my own. Overall, I think others might have a better experience with another massage therapist. My husband said his lady was better. She did not break contact with his body, however, she massaged towards his head instead of away from him head, causing congestion. She also needed a course on anatomy, due to massaging over his bones a bit too rough at times. His experience sounded quite a bit better than mine and she used good pressure. The only way to improve my experience would be to use the hot stones on all parts of the body, keep the stones on a rolling table in order to not break contact and same for the lotion. My massage therapist spend at least 5-10 minutes away from me gathering items. That left me with a 60 minute massage. :( My massage room was also located next to the restaurant. I could hear the tv and people talking through the wall. That might be a bit picky, but for $100... I shouldn't have to worry about those details. I have had over 10+ massages all over the country and this place wasn't my favorite. Yes, it is local, so I didn't have to drive far. To me, it wasn't worth the money and they should train all their staff on using hot stones. If you require massages consistently, then this place might work out for you. You would be able to find a massage therapist you liked. For an occasional massage, it is too costly to end up with someone that isn't highly trained.
