    Radiance Salon & Medi-Spa
I had Lindsay for my cut and color. I didn't like my haircut. I asked for angled side bangs and I got straight bangs. The color was at first too dark, but it has lightened over time. I liked my bikini wax. I forget who the technician was. This was only my second time there. I am still trying out different stylists to find one that I like. Will not go to Lindsay again. Also, though the salon is beautiful, I'm not sure it is worth the price since the stylists don't seem any better trained than a less expensive salon.

They have very good prices and they are independent and the owner works there. I use Debbie. I would recommend them. Gretle is the owner. They all have a specialty. If I need my hair foiled I have to go to someone else because. The other place I went to charged $150 for what I got.

They do a good job.  I've been going to them for couple of years and I am satisfied with their work.  She does what I wanted her to do and I am happy with her.  They are very inexpensive.

    ILO DAY SPA

I have been going to ILO almost since it opened (many years).  I go to ILO because their stylists are cutting edge on style and are so very skilled.  They are constantly updating their knowledge and are top notch.  When out and about, strangers come up to me and ask where I get my hair done, at least once a month.

A really nice thing is that the staff doesn't change very often, and most of the people I met in the beginning are still there.  All are polite and helpful (even with the parking meter when my credit card got stuck).  So, overall, it is a very pleasant place to recharge and relax.

Normally, Sal colors my hair and Patricia does the cut.  Both are extraordinary.  When I've had to go to one of the other staff because at the last minute my schedule didn't fit with theirs, I haven't been disappointed, but I have the best results with Sal and Patricia.

Sal is an artist (not just with hair).  He listens to what you want, but also advises you on options that might be better for you.  I put my trust 100% in him and I have never regretted it.  You could not get a better color with anyone.  He takes a lot of time and care when he highlights my hair, so it looks very natural.  You never get patches of color as you might if someone rushes the job or is careless.

Patricia is amazing.  She really knows hair and styles it according to texture, length, curly or straight, and has never taken too much or too little off the length.  She also does fabulous, formal up-do's.  I am able to get the same result when I wash it myself, as she explains exactly how to do it, plus it is such a good cut you can't go wrong.

Other staff:  The front desk staff go out of their way to schedule an appointment when you need it, especially at the last minute.  They are polite and very professional.  If you are expecting giddy, silly staff, you won't get that--they take their jobs seriously.  The shampoo staff, manicurists, well EVERYONE,  are friendly and expert at what they do.

    Radiance Salon & Medi-Spa
I usually see Christie (and hopefully I spelled that right!) for my regular bikini wax and she does a great job. I have pretty sensitive skin so she's always conscious of that and makes sure the wax isn't too hot. I'm usually taken back within 5 min of my appt. time and scheduling is pretty quick. I have had to wait a few days after my preference to get an appt., but it's never been too bad. The salon is nice and the rooms are pretty comfy. I had Gail a couple times before and she is also good. I wish the regular waxes were a little cheaper, but it's actually pretty similar to what I've paid elsewhere.

    Radiance Salon & Medi-Spa
I cannot comment on just that one service, as I go to Radiance for all my spa, hair and nail treatments. I have been a customer there for about 8 years now. My hairdresser is exceptional!! I will not even name her because I have so much difficulty getting an appointment when I want now. I literally have to book 6 months in advance. Like Heather with nails, this hairdresser is a perfectionist and she will not let me leave until we are both happy with the results. It is a bit pricey but, like most expenses we value, you get what you pay for. Radiance services across the board is very quality and customer focused and it definitely shows.
I have also had skin treatments and permanent makeup done at Radiance Medi Spa and I am asked frequently where I had it done, because the results are so natural that I have to tell people it is permanent makeup.
I have sent a handful of new clients to Radiance and they are hooked on the high quality and professional results, too.

    Waves Salon
This is an excellent salon. Very professional stylists in a fun, upbeat yet relaxing setting. Daina has been cutting, styling and coloring my hair for several years. She is great with clients and has a knack for really listening and understanding how you want your hair cut/styled/colored. Daina is definitely a and quot;peopleand quot; person and will make you feel right at home. There are some great stylists in this salon. My experiences at Waves Salon have been wonderful and I will continue to use and recommend them.

    HAIR CUTTERY
Awful and it was a complete disaster to my beautiful hair. The stylist applied the Keratin and blow dried my hair. Then she had to flat iron, my hair was falling out on my lap. Then the manager came over and told the stylist she did not have the flat iron hot enough!

The curling iron was so hot, my hair was falling out and breaking by the pieces. The Keratin treatment stripped my hair of the beautiful highlights I had put in there 2 weeks prior there.

On February 18, 2014, I went to a local salon in Leesburg, Virginia called Salon Cielo #3622 and they treated my hair, corrective color, trimmed into a "Bob" style, blow dried and flat iron. The service cost was $206.25

On February 25, 2014, I went to Salon Bleu in McLean, Virginia for hair treatment. At this point, I had to cornrow my hair and began wearing wigs. The service cost was $180.00

Salon Cielo, also under the Ratner Companies suggested I contact Hair Cuttery's customer service. I did in February 2014, my case number is 423449. I never received a call from the District Leader "Karen".

Instead I received a call from Makelia, Salon Leader of the Hair Cuttery located at 4150 Campbell Avenue, Arlington, Virginia 22206. The telephone is 793-379-4830. On March 3, 2014, I seen Makelia for the first time. She was very pleasant and conditioned my hair, blowed dried, cornrow my hair. Malikia would style and color my wigs and again very pleasant. I felt like I finally found someone who cared about my hair.

Makelia has beautiful hair; I inquired what did she do to her own hair. She told she had Brazilian hair sewn on a cap and she would take the cap off every two weeks and wash her natural hair. I decided I want to try this instead of the wigs because it looks so natural. On June 5, 2014, Makelia made a cap for me of Brazilian and Peruvian hair I purchased from herimports (approx $250.00) in Arlington, Virginia. The service charge for hair sewn to cap, hair cornrow, cap sewn on, and then hair was curled and styled was $250.00 plus a $20 tip.

Makelia instructed me not to put oil on the hair. However, she failed to tell me about getting oil for my scalp and how to do it. On June 12, 2014, I went back for service again because my scalp was dry and itching. I had the cap removed and my hair washed, conditioned and cap sewn back on. The cost of service was $68.00 plus $10.00 tip.

On June 18, 2014, I text Makelia that my hair in the part was dry and I scratched it! My scalp started bleeding. Makelia instructed me to put olive oil on it. I had an appointment scheduled on Thursday, June 19, 2014, for two hours I thought. Makelia said you are 15 mins. late and I apologized there was festival going on, so I had to park in the Harris Teeter's garage and walk.

Makelia took my cap off and un cornrowed my hair. It was bleeding around the crown of my head and I had open skin and blisters. Makelia informed she could not do the hair color. I was not happy but understood and trusted her. Makelia did not have any hair dressing to oil my scalp I felt was suitable. I purchased some Royal Crown hair dressing from Harris Teeter's and she applied to my scalp.

Early that morning, I also purchased Nizoral shampoo from the CVS. In the past, I seen a dermatologist for my scalp and she prescribed this for me; it's now available OTC. I have not used this shampoo in over 3 years, because I stopped relaxing my hair and started using all sulfate free products. I do not know what happened, except for the fact I had the cap on two weeks without any oil on my scalp.

I was not happy with the service yesterday and felt like Mikelia was rushing me and did not provide the quality service that I received upon my first visit. She did not conditioned my hair, she simply blowed dried it and cornrowed it. The service cost was $68.00 and no tip. Mikelia could tell I was unhappy, she offered to curled my hair and she did.

I truly like Mikelia and believe there was a miscommunication. I would like Mikelia and the Hair Cuttery to fix my damaged scalp with treatments and whatever it takes to get my hair healthy and growing again. -:)

    BOGART HAIR SALON
I have had great experiences at Bogart's.  My hair is difficult to color (almost all gray) & they always do the best job!  I have been coloring my hair for 30 years - they are the best for natural looking color!  My cuts are always nice - I let them do what they think is going to look flattering & I have never been disappointed!

    A Cut Above Salon
My husband forgot to make an appointment with the lady who usually cuts his hair so he tried this salon.  His hair cut ended up being a lot shorter than he's used to, but he liked that they washed his hair after the cut so he didn't have cut hair all over his neck.  He thinks he will give them another try.
