    Lux Foundation Solution
Lux foundation repair did a wonderful job at my home. I have 4 pipes coming into my home that had deteriorating seals around the pipe. The seals had deteriorated to the point that I had a large plastic box under the pipes so that after every rain I would collect the water that otherwise would have destroyed our finished basement. After small storms, I would collect a couple gallons, after very large storms, I would collect over 8 gallons of water in the box. I spoke to one contractor who suggested excavating the outside of the home. No small task since the pipes enter about 6 below grade and it would have involved removing several established plants. I was surprised with the estimator from Lux informed me that they could solve the problem from inside the home. I was surprised that the estimator was very confident that he could not only fix the problem, but guarantee that it would fix the problem. The work team arrived on time, quickly did their work and left. When the next storm arrived, I checked the box.no water at all. Was it painless? Yes. Was it worth the money? Yes.

    Basement Masters Waterproofing
At times it was a mixed bag, but overall good. There were some great things Basement masters did, and some areas of improvement. Where they were great - Quality of the work and ability to adjust and meet our needs was outstanding. On the first site visit, they presented awesome ideas on how to improve our basement by moving the sump and installing drainage by the water heaters, no other company offered these ideas. Walter, the on site manager, was great. His team showed up at the same time every day and they really worked their butts off, and Walter is very polite and professional. Our basement was exceptionally challenging, and Walter checked in with me each morning and evening to explain progress and trouble shoot issues. Basement Masters also readjusted their schedule to help us when our basement was actively flooding. Randall, the rep, was great about replying the night we had the flooding to figure things out. I'd give them an A for the quality of the work. And most importantly, the basement has been COMPLETELY DRY! Areas of improvement - Communication, big time. Emails go unanswered, questions missed, etc. On our initial consult, my husband came home from work and we waited for the team member to arrive for several hours. We finally had to reach out to their team to learn he was stuck at another job, but wouldn't have known if we didn't reach out. When it came to email communication, they have a lot of work to do. It was very frustrating at times to ask 3 questions, bulleted out an in an email, and not get responses. I had to follow up almost every time to get a reply (and I waited 2-3 days each time). Additionally, billing was a mess. I was never billed for my deposit, which would have helped to spread out the large bill. Then, 3 MONTHS later, out of the blue and without warning, my credit card was charged $6k on the day I was literally sitting down to purchase a car. The timing couldn't have been worse and I couldn't believe that 1) I wasn't billed sooner, and 2) that I didn't get ANY heads up. Finally, when we inquired about pricing to extend our sump drainage, we told their team we'd get back to them on whether or not to pursue the additional work. Somehow, their team interpreted this as a sign off and went ahead and extended the sump line without our consent. That said, for their mistake, they adjusted the pricing considering we were going to do the work ourselves and save the money, which we really appreciated. Final bill: Appx $8k to trench the entire basement, move sump and get new sump, trench and extend new draining to front of property. Initial quote was less, but there were additional charges (about $1500) when we discovered that the foundation was a bit beefier than usual, which was fair. Overall: Despite poor communication, the work was good and we were very impressed with how the team problem solved and presented ideas/options to us. Day to day handling of the project was great. If I hired them again, I would be prepared to wait for emails and would be even more proactive about getting answers I need, as well as monitoring the billing process to make sure it doesn't all happen on one day. But again, Walter and team are great and are worth hiring.

    Lux Foundation Solution
Outstanding. They dug to the bottom of the foundation and patched the entire length of the crack, inside and outside. The outside patch was heavy black epoxy with a very heavy rubber patch 3 feet by 8 feet. They did some drain work at the base of the foundation. The pit was about 6 feet deep. The yard looked better after they had finished than before they started. They returned the inside basement wall insulation to original state along with an inside patch. Work crew of 3. I had three companies come to inspect and give me an estimate. LUX was the best price. One company suggested an inside patch only which would not last the life of the building. Very professional and hard working. After cleanup it appeared as if no one had done major work on my house. They were the best contractor and lowest price.

    Mottern Masonry Design
Contacted Mottern for an estimate to rebuild a "builder grade" brick walk (no foundation, brick on dirt - shoddy installation) with a proper concrete slab, and repair of a brick stoop with significant cracking and missing mortar.  Mottern provided a quick and free estimate with several options.  For the stoop, they cited "worst case" depending on what was found underneath so we could budget.  Work was scheduled and completed within one week (weather permitting) and was of very high quality.
Crew was courteous and performed excellent work.  They used the extra mortar to repair several small areas on the brick facade without being asked.  They also moved extra brick (the walk was shortened at my request) to the rear of the house and stacked neatly without being asked.
Two small errors were found after installation, and Mottern was quick to say "no problem" and is already scheduled to be fixed.  Small items like that are to be expected I think during post-work inspection - no harm, no foul.

    Basement Masters Waterproofing

So we bought this house six weeks ago. All the rain we've had recently flooded the basement. I had previously contacted Basement Masters for an estimate on a basement egress window and liked the inspector and price they quoted so had decided to go with them. Due to that positive experience (we haven't had that window installed yet), I called them again the same day of the flood. They sent a professional out quickly, Randall, who took a good look at the ground/walls and suggested some remedies. I felt like he was attentive and knowledgeable. He got an estimate to us quickly. Knowing our situation (having just bought the house and having this flood), Randall thought of us when he had an unexpected opening and moved us up in line by four weeks. We had the work done today, after just requesting to be added to their schedule yesterday! It's all done....have to let the cement cure of course. They sent a knowlegeble and professional technican, Walter, out to do the job. Walter explained what he was doing, answered all of my questions and then explained it all over again to my husband when my husband got home. Walter seemed to take pride in his work, rather than to be someone who is just working for a paycheck (not that that's wrong either) but it was nice to see a man who was proud of what he was doing and put something of himself in to the job.

Their staff at the office are very personable and quickly respond to my questions and concerns as well. I have had only positive experiences with this company and would highly recommend them. Given the unexpected expenses we've incurred with this flood, we're holding off on the basement egress window until the spring, but definitely plan to go with Basement Masters Waterproofing when we do have it done. Very, very pleased with their work.

    All Aspects Waterproofing
This company is professional, prompt and good at what they do. They are hardworking and speak both English and Spanish. The crew members commuted between 50 and 70 miles to work on my basement. The work is guaranteed for the lifetime of my house! No matter who owns it! Now that is a guarantee! I would recommend them again and again. What a find

    A A Action Waterproofing Inc
Four days later a crew of three very polite, extremely motivated, focused and dedicated men arrived in a truck with a lot of buckets (for the cement they would have to mix!). They were very careful to remove rugs from the area they would use for ingress and egress and they proceeded to hang long drapes of plastic between floor and ceiling from their entryway all the way through the basement, sealing off their work area from the rest of the house. The crew worked for seven hours straight drilling two long trenches, laying the filtration system, installing the sump pump, resealing the trenches with new cement, digging two trenches outside to bury the new sump pipe so it drained into the drainage area AND they lengthened and buried the pipe from the original sump pump so it too drains into the drain area in the yard! This keeps the water from sinking back down alongside the foundation. When they dug these piping couses they carefully separated a narrow strip of the from the area first and then laid it back down over the top so there would be no acar. They were also careful with the strip of herb garden they had to dig up and they replaced that so all I have to do is water it. They cleaned up everything and, although there is some dust to clean up, I was never so naive as to think you can filter out every speck of dust! I am very happy with the work, the crew, Gerry, the sales rep and the whole day. All the work is guaranteed for the life of the structure NO MATTER WHO OWNS IT, and I am very pleased to have done business with such ease and confidence. Yes, jackhammers are noisy, but no one is going to do this work with their teeth! The only concern I have is for the health of the workers; crystalline cement dust is hazardous and OSHA recommends a P-, !-, or R95 respirators to protect the respiratory system. I can see how that may make it hard to do physical labor, though. The price for everything was $4000.

    Value Dry Waterproofing

Jim brought in a third party door installer and they are going to have a custom door brought in to replace the current door. The door expert noted that the current door from Lowes was warped from the shipping and was causing small gaps in the seal causing the leaks. They are also going to reinstall the window with additional flashing as well as look into other potential causes for the window leaks and address them (such as putting in a vapor barrier if needed).

While the work is still ongoing we do appreciate Jim's commitment to excellence and getting the job done right. I understand that he is losing money to get it fixed but he continues to not give up until it is doneright.

    Walker and Clarke Builders Inc
We had basement flooding.  Contacted Walker and Clarke.  They were very timely/responsive.  Given we could not afford the recommended long-term fix, they engineered affordable alternative measures.  They installed additional drainage (underground piping with gravel, etc.), directing water away from the foundation of the house.  They repaired existing drainage/piping.  They re-seeded grass at bare spots, post-dig work.  They educated us along the way.  We have had no significant flooding since, despite continued downpours of rain.  In short, they were quick, innovative, knowledgeable, professional, and much more reasonably priced than the competition.  We would most certainly recommend them to others, and will have them at the top of our list of contacts for future house repairs and/or renovations.

    Basement Detective
Roland Hook and the team from Basement Detective were great to work with.  They came in, diagnosed our problem, offered a couple of solutions, and once we chose a solution they were thorough and completed the work on time.  They answered all of our questions and we would recommend them highly.  Anthony the owner visited our house several times during the work and understood our concerns and we could tell he really cared.
