    Michael & Son Charlottesville
My mother died in 2016 and to honor her, we decided to keep her home and renovate it. We call it the Holy Ghost house, because she sends angels or messengers to the house to expose contractors with questionable, dishonest, and overall lack of integrity business practices. This has been a challenging process even if I hired well-known companies like Michael and Son. Michael and Son over has been paid ten thousand dollars for a tankless water heat and a re-piping. And I have made a big mistake. Below is a list of the issues Ive had with Michael and Son Ruckersville VA location. First, they destroyed the new duct work underneath the house. It cost me over $1500 to repair. The damage was reported to me by another company. They reimburse me, because they got caught, not because they are a company with integrity. Second, I was told to by my bathroom and kitchen fixtures from Noland or Ferguson, which I did. The plumber didnt tell me that I needed to buy a specific fixture for the shower control because brands are not interchangeable. Moen wouldnt work with Delta. I not only brought the fixtures I wanted but brought the internal part which controlled the fixture. It was at the home before the plumber installed the internal wall unit. Now only way for me to get what l wanted was to rip out the walls. So, not only Im stuck with fixtures I dont want, because they dont have the upgraded functionality I wanted. And Im out of $115.00 restocking fee. Third, the plumber doesnt appear to take pride in his work. The fixture he installed is not flushed. Forth, theres a mess sitting in my front and backyard. I had to call to make sure they were going to pick it up, because I didnt want to pay to have it removed. Fifth, the manager never called me back, when I wanted to discuss issues. I had to drive from Northern VA to the Ruckersville location to talk to him and to make sure he existed. Six, when I told the corporate customer service desk of my issues, they said a customer relation representative would call me, because they didnt want me to feel this way about their company. Im still waiting for that call or a voicemail to call someone back. Seven, Im having issues with red clay and/or iron in my water. They told me that I had a well issue. So, I called a well company that happen to send me a master plumber. He noticed my new hot water tank condensation pipe was broken. He said, there should be a pipe with threads on it which should drain outside. No wonder my wall and floor are wet. They also turned off the filter to bypass to address my pressure and red water issue. Im assuming all of the dirt is now flowing through my new hot water tank. Again, they broke something and didnt bother to fix it. Eight, they failed the building inspection 3 times. Nine, the electrician discovered a water leak underneath the house. They said, they fixed it. Ten, new shower water temperature is either hot or cold. No warm Eleven, they didnt honor the financing terms agreed upon. Michael and Sons customer service said there was nothing they could do. The un-budgeted extra monthly payment is causing a financial burden. They are not finished with the work at my moms house; but when they are done, I will have another plumber to inspect their work, because I no longer trust them. I hope they will correct what they have broken and get the rest of the work done right.

    RooterMan of Virginia
Timing was superb to minimize down time between disconnecting old washer and installing new one. Quick analysis minimized work on drain options and water hookup. Technician adjusted plumbing in minutes and provided suggestions for final hookup.

    RooterMan of Virginia
Rooter Man sent two technicians within a couple hours of my calling. They cleared the clog and sold me some enzyme treatment to prevent recurrence. They also installed a new drain assembly in my sink, which I supplied, for no additional charge. Not cheap, but less then the quote from Roto Rooter.

Very well. Service technician, Matt, did an excellent job sealing the outgoing tee on our septic tank using hydraulic cement. I was impressed with Matts courteous demeanor, communication and efficiency.

I am thankful my husband called Rooterman for this job. The office staff was kind and efficient in answering questions and scheduling our service. Technician Jahkondeh was personable, respectful and hard working, He skillfully maneuvered the large truck in our driveway. He was comfortable with my watching and inquiring about the condition of our tanks and his job. I witnessed our tanks were overdue for this service! This was the first time in 26 years our septic tanks were pumped. Jahkondeh displayed integrity as he worked. He is a real asset to the Rooterman team!

All contacts with Rooterman were professional. The workmen clearly diagnosed the problem and gave me a credible estimate of the scope and cost of work. They were then efficient & thorough in execution.

    Fluvanna Plumbing Services
AWESOME. We have been in the Charlottesville area for about 10 years, and have gone through many plumbers searching for someone we can rely on and trust. After making a handful of calls when our garbage disposal in our new house started leaking from the bottom, I was so discouraged by the really bad customer service out there and was hesitant to call the large companies because of their cost to fix. I wanted to give up, and then I actually got a call back from Fluvanna Plumbing and it completely turned my day around! Excellent customer service - Sheila took a long time on the phone to talk with me about their business and our situation, and what some solutions might be. She was able to make an appointment for the next day. Jimmy came out and was fast, courteous and very professional. I can't say enough how grateful we are to have found a company we look forward to working with again. If we need an upgrade or a fix, we will be calling Fluvanna Plumbing.

    Classic Granite & Marble
Classic Granite has one of the best granite showrooms in the area, as well as a large selection of granite and other stone.  This is our third granite project in the past several years (and we have shopped at about a half dozen suppliers and used a different fabricator for an earlier project), and this was one of our best experiences.  The clincher was our sales rep, Oscar, who was very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and helpful to us -- granite selection can be time-consuming, and it took us several visits to make a final decision.  From start to finish, Oscar was available and responsive, went to some trouble to insure the project was measured and installed at a convenient time, and followed up with us after the installation to make sure we were happy..  The templater and installers were also quite professional and pleasant to deal with, and the end result was beautiful.  We would highly recommend Classic Granite and Marble

    Cavalier Septic Service
When the provider came out on June 16 to drain the septic, they found a problem with our pump.  They suggested having their electrician come out and look at the problem but they could still drain the septic that day.  They were paid $350 for draining the septic that day.
The electrician was supposed to call and set up an appointment; however, he simply called a few days later and said he was on the way to our house!  After looking at the pump, it was determined that only a portion of the septic was actually drained and it would have to be drained again before the problem could be fully diagnosed. The estimated cost for the repair was $1500 but they wouldn't really know until they could get into it.  He said he would try to work us in by the end of the week.  We did not receive a call that week.  By the end of the next week, I called the office and the electrician finally called me back.  At that point, he said we would be charged another $350 for the septic to be drained so he could diagnose the problem.  Also, he would probably need to order parts.  He would call back the next day.  He never called.  After several days of waiting, I called the office.  The person who answered the phone said she would call the electrician to get to the bottom of things and she would definitely call me back that day.  No call!  I called back the next day, no answer.  My husband called and left messages.  No return calls.
I chose this provider based on the good reviews on Angie's List.  We have been polite and patient.  I don't understand why they can't just call us to let us know if they can fix the problem and give us an estimated date.  I don't care if they can't get to us for a month or so.  At least call us back to tell us that!!!  I am very disappointed in this provider!!!  At this point, I guess I'm going to have to contact another provider to fix my pump.  Unfortunately, I am probably going to have to pay the next provider to drain the septic I supposedly had drained less than a month ago!!!
