  Senate Termite & Pest Control of VA

  I signed up with Senate Termite in 2000. I paid somewhere around $3000 to have them place down termite traps and got the $100,000 damage insurance. It was my understanding that I would need to pay $100 every quarter and my protection would continue as long as I owned my home. In 2008, Senate came back and told me the traps I had down needed to be replaced and I needed to pay another $3000+ for this. I was super frustrated and got the salesman to insure that this was the last time they would come back to me for more money and that I would just pay my $100 a quarter going forward. Well... Senate just came back and let me know that I needed another liquid treatment applied for around another $3000 if I wanted to keep my $100,000 damage insurance. I am canceling my contract with them and will shop around. I suggested to Senate that they work with their salespeople to be clear about expected costs with future customers. If you plan to have your house for 10 years or less, I think Senate would be fine since they won't likely come back to ask for more money. I would not recommend signing up with them unless you feel they are very clear about expected future costs. I could go on and on about my frustration with how their story changed in my eyes over time. First it was the traps had to be replaced and paid for again. Now it is the liquid must be reapplied or my insurance lapses. I always felt good about using a local company instead of a National chain, but I can't recommend them.

  Miche Pest Control

  Contacted Miche Pest Control late at night after noticing giant wasp nest hanging from tree over main entrance to my house, endangering my family. Received immediate response, clear and competitive price, and a scheduled time for early next morning. Received text in the morning advising still on schedule, arriving in 30 min. Christian arrived on time, was professional and courteous, and removed and disposed of the nest, and addressed all remaining wasps at the site. A+

  Really well, again. Environmental services sprays the whole neighborhood and in this particularly wet year - we would be eaten alive with mosquitos but we're 3 sprays in and we seem to be good so far and we've had a number of outdoor meetings. As a side benefit, the baby ants are less, the carpenter bee attacks on houses are less and the gnats don't swarm as much. we never did have many honey bees so I can't assess the impact there.

  They actually showed up early and were finished in less than 2 hours. Professional, knowledgeable and overall fantastic. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting the service to cost that much; but given the quickness and completeness of the service, I'm a happy man....without squirrels in my attic - and that is great peace of mind.

  I have used Morgan and his team at Veteran Pest and Wildlife for over 7 years. They are the most knowledgeable when it comes to just about everything to do with pest control. Morgan is also very knowledgeable on treatments and alternatives that consider pets and children. They have consistently taken care of just about every pest problem one could experience both in your own home and in a rental property we have. We have experienced nothing but professionalism and timeliness, and good prices too (we���ve checked). We would recommend them 100 times over.

  I emailed this review to the company as well, but wanted to post it here for everyone's awareness. Yesterday one of your salespeople was walking door to door from approximately 4pm until AFTER 9pm. He was extremely obnoxious and pushy with many of our neighbors. He knocked on our door around 4:20pm and then rang the bell several times while my dog was going nuts barking at him. I was unable to answer the door because I was caring for our baby. I watched him from one of our windows as he left, he proceeded to cut across our lawn and through our neighbor's yard to go to their front door. All of this is extremely unacceptable. THEN at 9:01pm we hear another knock on our door. It was him AGAIN!!! We answered this time, he went into his speech and we said no thank you. So this means he had been in our neighborhood from at least 4pm until 9pm?! You do realize that the rules in Fairfax County for solicitors state that they are NOT allowed to knock on doors after 8pm???? This was a full hour after that cut off time. We called the police. Unfortunately, they were unable to find him. We have a baby who was asleep and two dogs who usually go NUTS when someone knocks on the door. Very luckily for your salesperson our dogs did not hear him knocking this time. This type of behavior is extremely unacceptable and unprofessional. Not to mention sketchy and disconcerting at that hour of the day. It felt like we were being cased for a robbery. I posted on our neighborhood Facebook page about this incident and many other neighbors chimed in with similar negative experiences. I will list them below: -He knocked on someone's door who had a no soliciting sign and proceeded with his pitch, he was told to leave. He needs to be more aware of these signs. -He cut through most yards to get from house to house. At least two other neighbors besides myself observed him doing this both before and after 8pm. -He intercepted someone at their mailbox and would not take no for an answer or leave her alone despite her repeatedly saying no thank you. -He went back to many of our houses multiple times (I guess when we didn't answer the first time?!), knocking incessantly and ringing the doorbell. He did this after 8pm for many of our houses. -He chatted with one of our neighbors for 10 minutes about pest control. Our neighbor then asked for ID or a business card and he had neither. This also violates the rules in Fairfax County about door to door solicitors. They must have a license to solicit in Fairfax County and must be able to produce that license if asked. He did not. -Here is some information about soliciting in Fairfax County. I suggest you train your salespeople better, or better yet, don't send them door to door, find a different, better way to advertise. This guy was a bad, bad representative of your company. I will be posting this review on Yelp and possibly Angie's List too. [*** Link removed ***] Again, the police were called last night so this is on record with them. And they will be called again immediately if we see him or anyone else from Moxie in our neighborhood again.

  Several months ago, we reached out to PestNow for pest control service. We have now had them out here two or three times for routine service (we live in a wooded lot), and twice for some mice that decided to camp out in our house for a bit. They have been exceptional in coming out when we called, were quite professional, and took care of our issues. Their representatives (both in their office and those who come to our house) are efficient, polite, and professional. I found their costs reasonable for the service they provide, and some of the follow-up calls were done free of charge (e.g., when the mice returned). I would highly recommend their service.

  Connor's Termite & Pest Control

  I called to make an appointment and was told they would take my information and someone would call me back. No one called. So next day I called again and they got someone on it. Again no onworries called, but my tenants said someone came. I specifically asked about the cost of service on the phone and was told around $100 including consultation. I explained it���s a rental unit and I���m the owner and asked for the person to call me after the consultation to talk about the mothe problem and was told that would absolutely happen. It didn���t. Instead, my tenanats paid $350 for I don���t know what the invoice gives no description. There were 4 moths in the kitchen. What warranted a $350 service I have no idea. So not only did they not call, they went ahead without my agreement really and treated the moth problem. I expected more from Angie���s List A-rated service. Bottom line, moth issue is gone, but I still don���t know what I paid for, what the problem was, or who even came to my house. And the price was not what I was told it would be, nor did I agree to pay it.

  This clown, Mark Boersig claimed visible evidence of dead insects, insect parts, shelter tubes, exit holes of staining on a home inspection report because we had OLD Sentricon bait traps in the ground from PREVENTIVE service. Mind you, it's 20 degrees out right now in NOVA in January 2018! That could cost the Buyer the Home loan. So, if you want your home loan approved and not just a company to charge you for UNNEEDED Pest control, then do NOT use Triple S!!!
