Schaffer Construction - Designs for Life
I am extremely pleased. I have mobility issues and need handrails on both sides of our 2 floor-to-floor staircases (where there was only 1 inadequate rail) and 1 two-step staircase from the garage to the house. I wanted a certified age-in-place specialist to be sure the rails were ADA-compliant. Becky and Ben came out and assessed my situation, including making sure that the rest of the house was adequate for my needs. They were professional and friendly, explained what they were going to do, and accepted my questions and suggestions. This was not a normal handyman job. The cost seemed high when I got the proposal, but watching them work and seeing the result made me realize that I got my money's worth. The finish on the new railings closely matches the railings already there.

    Assisting Hands of Reston
I highly recommend Assisting Hands for any home care needs you may have. My experience has been super positive and their caregivers are wonderful, both caring and competent. Since we had a stroke in our family we have had to use a number of home care providers based on the stage of recovery we were in. This company is our favorite. It can be hard to find the right business to provide these type of services but look no farther you have found the best. I think the owner sets the tone because I have found her and her staff to be very willing to address my concerns and make sure that my experience was 5 star.

    Access Mobility Equipment, LLC
What I am surprised is he has been accepted by Angie's list. I am a paid member of Angie's list and trusted Angie's list and used a company recommended by them. I will be also writing about the this against Angie's' List.

    Thrive at Home
Excellent. With the exception of a couple of CNAs, the CNAS were caring and attentive. The staff at THRIVE AT HOME worked very closely with me to ensure the CNAs assigned to my spouse were a good fit and immediately replaced the ones who were not. In particular, Ms. Marie Woodward (the Head RN), spent considerable time in preparing an appropriate CARE PLAN to suit my spouse. When my spouse was hospitalized (4 times) during this period, Ms. Woodward visited him in the hospital. Throughout my spouse's illness (3 months), Ms Woodward kept in close contact with me to ensure my spouse received first class care. Muriel, the head administrative officer and all of the staff, were available on a 24 hr basis for consultation and readily available for any issues that arose. The billing and attendant paperwork for the insurance company was accurate and prepared in a timely matter. In sum, Ms. Woodward, Muriel and the staff, provided exemplary service and I would not hesitate to recommend this company to care for a loved one.

    Get A Grip
Gregg was sent to us from the Heavens. I was looking for someone to do a home safety evaluation for my client who had a stroke. He not only identified some tripping hazards but told us we had the option of doing a tub cut in her bath tub rather than doing a mini bathroom renovation, thus saving us $5K. We had no idea tub cuts existed nor did any of the contractors we consulted. His products meet the ADA requirements. Gregg's expertise and his demeanor was perfect for my client. I can't recommend him enough.

    NurtureCare
I've had very good experience with this company.  Most of the Nurturecare aids are great, a few are average, but some are EXCEPTIONAL.   The company provides excellent customer service and will go above and beyond to make sure they find the right fit for your needs...just be very clear about your expectations. If you are not satisfied with an aid for any reason, they will replace that person immediately. The office management team listens to concerns and they are truly supportive during difficult times.  We now have a regular daily caregiver who is AWESOME!.  She takes good care of both my parents, they love her and she is like part of the family.     We've had some terrible experiences with other care provider companies so I'm so happy to have found Nurturecare.  There are no contracts - you pay as you go and can cancel, decrease or increase services at any time.  The pricing is reasonable.    Finding reliable care for elders can be so nerve wracking and upsetting - I feel Nurturecare really tries to alleviate the stress for family members.   I don't think one can ever find "perfect" in home care situations, but this company is certainly one of the best options out there.

    David Weber MD

I called Dr. Weber's office after noticing my mom was having shortness of breadth.  Although she decided she didn't want to see a doctor, I decided to go ahead and get a chart started for her in case she changed her mind.  Dr. Weber's  receptionist, Robin, was extremely helpful in figuring out what insurance my mother had and made the process so much easier.  Then one Wednesday night my mother was in distress and called a nearby friend who alerted me.  Although Dr. Weber couldn't make it out on Thursday, he came by 1st thing Friday morning.  He put a rush on the blood test, which probably saved her life, as he discovered her blood count was incredibly low, and she needed an immediate transfusion.  He called the ambulance, and she was taken to the hospital that afternoon.  She spent four days in the hospital and was discharged on Tuesday afternoon.  Dr. Weber then came by on Wednesday to check on her.  As a result of this experience, we've made Dr. Weber her primary care physician, and he will be checking on my mom regularly.

Schaffer Construction - Designs for Life
During the course of two visits, I was impressed with the installer's professionalism, courtesy and friendliness. He seemed genuinely interested in making my wife's recuperation period safe and comfortable for her. He was punctual and clearly knew his business. Discussions with the owner prior to the installation provided some excellent suggestions on possible safety modifications. All in all, a most satisfactory experience, and well worth the cost.

    A Place For Mom
This was a difficult task to find a suitable Intensive Assisted Living home for my mom as no family member lived here who could go and see the facilities. The rep from A Place for Mom provided three excellent alternatives and was very informative about what each one was like. She was not pushy in any way and I felt like she really cared about my mom and wanted to find the right place for her.

Schaffer Construction - Designs for Life
Mr Schaffer spent over an hour  explaining the chairlift installation and how it works before we purchased it.. (My husband is a stroke victim who has difficulty walking.)   He also made suggestions for grab bars for bathrooms etc.  He never rushed through our discussion, and when he and his worker installed the chairlift they did not leave anything to be cleaned up.  Mr Schaffer is a very nice man and I would call him again.
