    Young Environmental Services
They were terrific. Evan was able to come out for an estimate the same day I called, and I was able to schedule the work five days later. Peter and his crew arrived on time, explained everything to me clearly, and were done with the entire job in 90 minutes. They removed all the tile and sealed the mastic so it's no longer dangerous, and left everything nice and clean. I could have removed the tiles myself, but it would have taken me a million times longer and I wouldn't have known what I was doing as far as handling and disposing of hazardous material. I am very happy with the service I received from Young Environmental.

They explained everything to me thoroughly and were honest about what did and didnt need to be fixed.  They cleaned up very well, were punctual, and very professional.  I plan to use them again to deal with a mold situation I have.  Price was reasonable based on other quotes received.

    Geller Environmental Labs Inc
Working with Paul from Geller was great. Both the pre- and post-remediation tests were thorough and he was very patient and engaged with all of my questions, both during the initial inspection and later phone calls--as I discovered the mold problem just a few months after purchasing the home, which was my first, it was a bit of a blow and Paul's help and professionalism was very comforting.
I can't comment on Geller's relative cost because I didn't get other quotes, but my initial inspection was about $800 (which based on the areas we needed to look at included three air samples and one surface sample) and about $650 for the second inspection (which is optional). It felt like a lot of money to me, but from some general research I did online it seemed like a fair price for the quality of work and with mold remediation so expensive I decided it was well worth doing to make sure the work was done right the first time.

    Contractors Unlimited Co
We had a horrendous situation with a basement floor installation that went wrong leaving our house full of fumes, and a week later we discovered our basement was contaminated by asbestos in the process.  When we called Bill and Contractors Unlimited, they were extremely responsive.  Although other companies gave us bids, Bill was able to work his schedule to fit us in weeks sooner than the others.  Although the cost was a bit more, that saved us money because we were displaced and could not even go into our house because of the fumes.  CU set up negative air machines to replace the air, they followed asbestos abatement laws, they cleaned every item that could be salvaged in our house.  They even saved more than we thought which really reduced our overall expense.  Bill and his team were extremely professional, friendly, helpful, and really went out of their way to ease our stress from this situation.  At the end of their process, Bill arranged for a air quality inspection which we happily passed - able to return home.  I would gladly recommend Contractors Unlimited for asbestos abatement.  I just wish we had called them before the floor guys  created such a disaster.  Thank you Bill!

Shortly after purchasing our home (circa 1940), we discovered it had a significant amount of asbestos in the building materials.  After interviewing multiple remediation contractors, we felt that Peter and his crew offered a professional, and careful approach.  He was no-nonsense, and was willing to negotiate a fair price.
The work was performed quickly, and within the time frame as promised.  Peter was responsive throughout, and answered all our questions.

Jack Geller was very responsive, and his staff worked quickly and thoroughly.  They were collaborative with my contractor as well as the remediation contractor, and as a result, scheduling was easy.

    Geller Environmental Labs Inc
I  purchased an older home, and our initial remodeling effort revealed potential asbestos presence.  Geller Environmental responded immediately (within 1 hour) to our call.  Jack Geller listened, took careful notes, and met that afternoon with my contractor to assess the situation, and kept me informed.  He arranged for expedited turn around on the lab results.  Once we had confirmation that we had to remediate, he provided the name of 2 potential qualified contractors.
    Professional, responsive, genuinely caring.

We were having our kitchen re-tiled and the ceramic tile was being pulled out and found to be glued down to some vinyl sheet flooring which had a fibrous backing.  Called Geller to ask about the need for testing and he had concerns it could be asbestos tile based on my description.  It was an urgent situation since 3/4 of the floor had already been pulled up and if it had contained asbestos would have been a major issue.  Jack Geller immediately got off the phone, came over and got samples and hurried back to the lab to get them submitted so we'd have an answer the next day.  We didn't stay in the house while we waited, and were very anxious about it.  Jack called me as soon as he had the results the next day, which luckily were negative.
Jack was extremely responsive and got us the answer so we had minimal disruption to the work and our lives.  He was great and I would highly recommend him.  Also answered some questions of mine on the need for lead paint testing over the phone (we have not moved forward with lead testing at this point, but if we decide to I would definitely use Geller Environmental).

    GCI Home Improvements
The owner Joseph showed up and I got the impression he didn't want to be made to remove it because he offered the option to put a new floor over the old floor, which is an absurd option. The point is that the quote turned out to be 60% more than two other quotes I received! Way too much and honestly if you decide to get any service from this company get at least two more quotes from competitors.

    Young Environmental Services
During a home inspection on a 30 year old townhouse, water damage was found in a basement exterior wall. Peter from Young Environmental came in to look behind the wall for signs of mold and found evidence of light mold. He provided an estimate for remediation and explained what would be done during the mold remediation. His crew came in right on time and worked incredibly efficiently to perform the work. They took care not to destroy existing carpet and to not break molding during inspection of areas where they were not sure mold would be found and cleaned up after their work extremely well. During the process of taking up the carpet, asbestos tile was found. Peter explained the situation and all my options and was able to perform extra abatement work that day. I was impressed with everything except the price. To remove the asbestos tile and glue, I was charged $500, despite the fact that his crew finished the whole job at the estimated time despite the the extra work of removing tile and glue. When I asked for a break on the price, he explained that he paid his crew by the job, not by the hour. I understand this, but $500 seemed steep.
