3/5/2018 This review is for a Fort Knox safe I bought. I did a lot of homework before I bought the Fort Knox Gun Safe Series M2 Model 7241. I am very happy with my purchase. I looked at Superior, Champion, Liberty, Browning, Cannon, Steel Water, and many other safes before I bought the Fort Knox M2. If you think that the safe you’re looking at will work for the guns you have now, think a little before you buy it, and buy a bigger one. You will probably buy more guns! Right? Spend a little more at the front end of buying a safe, or you will end up buying a second safe at some point! Also make sure to get an S&G Group 2 lock. The man I bought my safe from, Steve , is a great locksmith that is willing to work with you, and with no pressure to buy ‘Right Now’! I found out about Steve from a friends son, a retired State Trooper from one of the adjoining states to Virginia. I talked to Steve a number of times on the phone before I went to meet him in Chantilly, Virginia, at a gun show. Even at the gun show he never pushed for a sale. When he was finished with the person he was talking to when I showed up, he came to talk to me as if I was the only one at the gun show, one on one, NO KIDDING!!! His wife Toni, talked to me first, and gave me a brochure, and a price list, and talked about the safes, very knowledgeable also. Toni knows the product very well! One of the things I wanted was a certain 3 number combination, and Steve easily set it to the numbers I had requested. I had the safe set on my garage floor. To keep the bottom of the safe protected from rusting, he set the safe on 4 Hockey Pucks. May seem weird to some, but steel and cement = rust on bottom of safe. Today they came from Northern, Virginia with the Fort Knox M2 safe, in the rain, and did an incredible job moving the safe, and setting it up, and leveling it, and anchoring it to the cement floor. They traveled at least 135 miles, or a little more. I know I traveled 135 miles to go to the gun show to meet them. Steve seems willing to travel a great distance to set up your safe. He will give you a flat rate of what the set up and delivery will cost. It might seem pricey, but when you really understand what service and knowledge he is providing, it will be worth it! Others I talked to about getting a safe delivered, and given a flat rate within a certain zone for mileage, would have cost a great deal more. Then to set it up, level it, and anchor it was so much an hour per man, 2 men minimum. Much more than I paid Steve and they would have only had to come 70 miles. We are dog lovers, and so are Steve and Toni. They had their 4 dogs with them, one named Bullet, another Caliber, another named Ammo, and another named --- . After the safe was completely installed Steve took the time to make sure I was okay with the way everything worked. It took me a few tries to get the S&G Combination Dial to work for me, but I have opened it a number of times now with no problem. If you find yourself having a hard time with going that ‘just a scratch’ too far past your combo number, use a finger from your other hand to slow it down, like a brake. Steve made that suggestion, and it works. If you google “Steve’s Services” you can then email him at fksafeman@aol.com, and/or call him at 703 573 4394, he will get back to you in a timely manner. I was going to get a gun safe a few years ago, but we could not afford it, so I dropped the thought. A few months ago we were coming out of a Tractor Supply and my wife stopped at the gun safes and said, “I think you should get a gun safe”. Who was I to argue? She did not realize what this would end up costing her/us. We went from around $700.00, to about $4,000.00. Big difference, but she pulled on her big girl boots, and gave her blessing for the safe. You also have to understand that she said I could buy a new Harley or Indian if I lost 100 pounds. She knew she was safe with dangling that carrot in front of me! I can still get a new BIKE, IF I still lose the 100 pounds, but she said no more gun safes, at least for a while. She does understand that you can never have enough guns, or ammunition, so as I see it, I still win. By the way, I do have to be careful around her as she is a much better shot than me. Her daddy raised her in the NRA competition as a young girl. She won a lot of Trophy’s and Badges. She toasted our son (he’s my step-son) at a gun range when he was bragging about what a good shot he was. My wife at that time had not shot a live round in about 25 years. Well, she shamed him in five round groups, every time a bull seye, every set they shot. He would get maybe three in the eye, and two out most of their sets. When she hit the outer edge of a bulls eye one time, he tried to call it as an out. I was in the next lane, and told him to see the ‘range master to see what he would say. Before he got I within ten feet, the MASTER told him to suck it up, and be man enough to be defeated by his mom. It nearly killed him to say, mom you’re a better shot than me. He has never asked for a rematch! I close with saying that I probably spent way too much time on the internet and phone to do the research and learning a HUGE load of information. I know it was driving my wife to a maddening stage, but then I reminded her that this was my Christmas gift from her, and she backed off. Men, if you have a great wife, let her know how blessed you feel, and let her know how great she is, and most importantly let her know how much you love her. You’ll never be sorry for it!!! I am a proud Viet Nam veteran. May God Bless all of our Military Troops, First Responders, and all who put themselves in harm’s way for the rest of us to live within the Freedoms we still have. Freedoms lost, seldom returned!! Home of the Free, because of the Brave. If you love your Freedoms, thank a veteran. Every one of them gave some, and some gave all!! Thanks for letting this ole timer ramble on, Roger Guy (a.k.a. the Grizz)

Mr. Fracasse met with me on several occasions to discuss what I needed to get done and what my priorities were since I was on a tight budget. He completed several jobs for me on several different occasions. The first job was tiling my bathroom floor. He was excellent. He helped me select appropriate tile, showed me several different patterns in which he could install them and quoted me a very reasonable price to do the work. He was punctual and professional. He does quality work and I am very pleased with what he has done for me. Since installing the tile in the bathroom he has also installed tile in my foyer, installed vinyl plank flooring in my kitchen, installed slate in my entertainment area and done several drywall and painting jobs for me. I recommend Mr. Fracasse very highly and will continue to use his services as I progress with the remodel of my home.

It works very well. The man, John, did a very good job. I'm not sure that the price was compensatory to the work, but he did a good job and I couldn't do it myself. They were very prompt and the man was a perfect gentleman.

I have used Baylites for my outside lighting since 2013. The owner Lewis Edgell, is a retired United States Marshal who handles lighting as if he was still on the job for his past career. This means taking care of business fast and professionally, as well as advising me on security which is very important to me. As in the past, I did secure two additional estimates. Mr. Edgell came in approximately 40% less and provided great warranties as well as follow-up which the other companies did not provide. In addition I received a $495.00 Angie's List discount. Baylites is the way to go for all your landscape lighting.

The installation went well and the generator works fine. During a storm, we checked to make sure all the lights/appliances/heat pump worked while the generator was running and they did. This generator is much quieter than our old one -- this is the reason that I purchased a Kohler instead of a Generac.

Christian kept in contact with me as we worked to find time for me to meet him as I currently live in Northern Virginia. We selected a date and I drove down. He was there with a huge team and much large equipment. He and his men spent the entire day on that lot and cleaned up all of the messy growth that had accumulated. They ground down all the stumps, hauled away all the wood, debris, and weeds. They cleaned up everything. I paid them and off they went. I will definitely use this company again. Fair pricing, good communication, and professional, safe, and friendly workers.

I called Mr. Edgell to come out and give me an estimate for some additional lighting to add to the lighting he had already done. He came out promptly the next morning and we went over the look I wanted to achieve.  He had some great suggestions that fit perfectly with that.  Later that afternoon Mr. Edgell emailed me an estimate which I accepted. Two days later all the lights were installed.  Mr. Edgell came out that same evening to make any adjustments that were needed concerning up lights.

Mr. Edgell also installed a green LED underwater light under my dock.  At night I sit down there with my Grandchildren and we watch all the fish, crabs, little eels and one night we even saw a large sea turtle.  What fun it is to see the look on their little faces when they see all of this wonderful life under the water.  They would never see this if it wasn't for the green light. I think anyone that lives by any type of water is missing out if they don't have an underwater light.

I can't say enough about Mr. Edgell, he is prompt, courteous, and professional.  I would recommend Mr. Edgell to anyone who would like to enhance their home with beautiful low-voltage lighting and/or a green underwater light.

The crew arrived on time on the day that I had scheduled the installation.  They disconnected and moved the washer (the dryer and cabinet had already been removed).  They put down a an underlayment (luan, a thin plywood, I think) over the existing tile floor and then laid the tile over it.  The tile was 16" by 16" squares that came with grout lines and the crew did a nice job of laying the tiles so everything lined up.  The floor has the look of ceramic tile that has been grouted.  After laying the tile, they put wood trim around the baseboard and the threshold of the back door.  They took the time to stain the trim so it matched the pine baseboard.  They also put down a 2 inch wood threshold between the laundry area and the pine kitchen floor.   This threshold was the only thing that I was disappointed with.  It wasn't cut exactly to match the indented wood paneling that frames the doorway.  Maybe this extra cut for the indent required equipment or carpentry skills that they didn't have.   Overall, I really like the floor and I think that they did a nice job.

DO NOT LET THIS GUY BUILD YOUR HOUSE.....WATCH OUT FOR THIS GUY....SHADY, SHADY!!!!  We began a relationship with Mr. Hendrickson when the home we were interested in buying belong to him.  Come to find out he is actually the builder of the home, but does all of his work under different names.  This should have been our first sign.  I am assuming he "subcontracts" them out, but they all actually work for him.  Just another way around the legal issues someone with morals as him will encounter.

He made us made hopes, dreams and promises and did not follow through on anything.  We initially signed a contract with 45 days to complete the home, then it turned into 60 and finally when 75 days had passed we had to get a lawyer involved in order to actually gain access to the home.  He allowed us to gain access to the home after the date of contract sign.  Then approximately 15 days into it he locked us out of the home and changed the code on the garage door.  He would only allow us to see the house with HIS real estate agent on the premises.  He also put cardboard at the windows so that we could not look in.

There was never one project all the way completed.  He would start on 10 different things in the home at the beginning of the week and none would get done by the end of the week.  He has a right hand man that is a BIG TIME DRINKER and let his dogs run through my home while it was being worked on.

Upon closing and signing the papers he would not give us the keys.  I had to go to his lawyers office, which upon entering I was told to "sit in the car and wait".  He then had his lawyer walk the keys to the home out to my car.  This home I purchased was $275,000 and we exchanged the keys in a dusty parking lot late at night.  This was only after I got my lawyer involved on obtaining access to the house.

We now have access and live in the home, but nothing is finished.  There are holes in the banister of the stairs, the stairs themselves have lost the shine after only a month and we will have to put more stain on it.  There are several holes/patches in the walls that will have to be fixed.  In our master bathroom, the bathtub is not hooked up.  The tub that was in there was broken, we had it replaced, but there is no plumbing going to it.  The ceiling fan in my son's room sounds like it is going to come out of the ceiling and will need to be replaced.  We have an attic space with construction material laying everywhere and not finished.

If you are looking for a halfway done home and a lot of headaches, this is your guy.  If you are looking for a beautiful custom built home with someone who will make the process enjoyable for both you and your family, GO ELSEWHERE.

Mr. Jackson called ahead the previous week to verify the scheduled start date.  The crew showed up on time on the agreed date. The crew members introduced themselves. All were very friendly. Mr. Jackson estimated three days to do the job and that was what it took.  The crew was hard working and did a great job on all the tasks. All the debris was hauled away. Mr. Jackson made sure everything was done the way we wanted.
