    MWM Restoration
There are not enough stars to rate this outstanding team! We highly recommend MWM for any project you have! Sadly our home suffered a chimney fire mid December 2016. It was deemed to be caused by a structural flaw in the construction of the chimney when the house was built in 1978. Because of the single digit temps in December, the chimney demo & rebuild could not even begin until March 2017 so the mortar could set properly. The delay was out of MWM's hands, but they diligently kept the place secure, dry, and protected. In addition to the Fire Insurance claim, during the initial estimation process, damage was found to the roofing & siding from two back-to-back Hail storms earlier that summer. Working closely with our insurance company, we hired MWM Restoration to make all repairs covered by both claims, as well as a ton of extra out-of-pocket upgrades and remodeling add-ons. Malik with MWM acted as overall General Manager for the entire project and made sure our best interests were covered at every turn. Tim his estimator, worked hand-in-hand with our insurance company to make sure everything was accounted for. Malik's right hand man, Benito led his extremely fast & efficient interior demo, reconstruction, framing & finishing crew throughout the process for an outstandingly beautiful result. Alex led the exterior work and produced a beautiful and consistent result. They were all very kind and respectful throughout the entire process. Absolutely nothing was missed. They amazingly hit our target date to move-back-in of July 1st. Total Insurance repairs plus all our extras came to well over $175k. Huge project, and a HUGE SUCCESS!"

It went very well. The inspector was very thorough, explained everything in great detail, took photos of relevant areas and generally was very professional and easy to work with. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a home inspection.

    Accurate Home Inspections
It went much better than I expected! The level of professionalism was beyond expectations! Mr. Henderson took his time and answered any and all questions I had. Mr. Henderson took the time to review the home inspection and then sent me a very detailed yet easy to understand report. I would highly recommend AHI to all my friends and family in the future.

    Radontex, LLC.
Everything went smoothly from the initial contact to the actual pickup of the equipment. I found them to be professional and prompt. The appointment was easy to schedule on-line and they provided followup to confirm the appointment time. The testing process was explained to me in detail and the equipment was setup quickly. I had to cancel the pickup of the equipment at the last minute and they were very accommodating. I received a detailed report within several days and paid online.
I would highly recommend this company and would not hesitate using them for additional services.

    Cover Your Assets Home Inspections
We had used another home inspector in this area for our first contract on a house.  While he did an "okay" job, we weren't delighted so when that contract fell through and we wrote a purchase offer for a second house, we checked Angie's List and picked Michael Millspaugh of Cover Your Assets.  We were extremely happy with him for several reasons:
    1)  With the first inspector we had to point things out to him especially if they were "cosmetic" items and ask that they be included in the report.  Michael documented everything (even cosmetic things) without us having to point them out and explained that even cosmetic items can be signs of underlying problems or safety issues (i.e. a cracked tile can cut a foot).
    2)  Michael (when we requested it) made experienced suggestions as to what might be causing a particular problem and a ballpark estimate as to what it might cost to fix it.  The previous inspection's report was filled with, "consult a licensed contractor for this problem" which wasn't helpful to us to determine which problems were significant and which were not.
    3)  Michael was willing to get up on the roof of the house to evaluate its condition, whereas the previous inspector looked at it from the ground.
    4)  Michael is happy to have you follow him around while working and he will point out both positive and negative conditions of the house as well as offer suggestions for maintenance and answering all of your questions.
    4)  Michael's price was lower than the first inspector even though in our opinion he provided more value.
As it turns out we had two more house contracts that did not complete, so we used Michael a total of three times before we finally got our house.  While I don't expect to be moving anytime soon, my mother is planning to move to this area from Texas and we will certainly call Michael again to do the inspection when she finds her home of choice.

    Gatekeeper Inspections
Brian was very responsive over the phone, and when I explained that I wanted every little thing found and noted, he told me that in the past his nickname was "The Terminator" because his inspections were so detailed and so thorough that clients had the information they needed if they decided to terminate their contracts.  He also told me that his price was based on the square footage of the home and gave me a quote.  He told me he could also do a radon test and mold sampling.
He arrived early for our appointment and when I arrived he told me that he'd met and spoken with the homeowner who Brian described as "a great guy".  This made me feel like he was predisposed toward the seller rather than toward me as the person who hired him.  Brian spent about four hours looking over the home and taking pictures.  There were a number of items that my husband and I saw and pointed out, asking that they be included in the report such as a crack across the hall bathroom tile, a toilet paper holder ripped off a cabinet (the wood had holes left where it was), rotted wood on the french door frame, unevenness in the floor under the carpet in one of the bedrooms, etc.  I wanted everything noted since I wanted as much bargaining power as possible when we went back to the seller to ask for repairs. I got the impression that Brian was most concerned with looking for defects or code violations rather than these more "cosmetic" issues because when I pointed them out, he agreed to take pictures, but didn't seem at all concerned by them (for example, with the cracked tile he said that since it was still attached to the subfloor that I shouldn't be concerned).
One thing he did that was great was he agreed to get the mold test expedited for us in order to meet our inspection contingency deadline.  He originally said the lab would charge extra for that, but in the end he agreed to have it expedited without increasing the amount he charged us.
We ended up not buying that house, and when researching inspectors again, I found that several other highly rated companies charge on the price of the house, not square footage, which ends up being a lot less expensive in our case.  His prices for radon and mold were pretty competitive, but I felt that I paid a lot more than I needed to for an inspection.
When we needed to hire another inspector we were more pleased with the next inspector for several reasons:  1)  the price was lower but he documented everything (even cosmetic things) without us having to point them out.  He explained that even cosmetic items can be signs of underlying problems or safety issues (i.e. a cracked tile can cut a foot).
    2)  The next inspector, when asked, made experienced suggestions as to what might be causing a particular problem and a ballpark estimate as to what it might cost to fix it.  Gatekeeper Inspection's report was filled with, "consult a licensed contractor for this problem" which wasn't helpful to us to determine which problems were significant and which were not.  3)  The next inspector was willing to get up on the roof of the house to evaluate its condition, whereas Gatekeeper Inspection looked at it from the ground.

    Radon Installation Contractors LLC
He did a very thorough iinspection.  He gave me an estimate of the time for completion and approximante cost.
He also gave me some good instruction on radon and how and why mitigation is important.
He showed up on time, installed the system and charged me exactly what he had estimated.  My experience with this contractor was the best I have had with any contractor in the last 10 years.  This guy knows his business and is a hard and disciplined worker.
    Totally outstanding!!!

    Home Status Inspection Company LLC
Bill Duncan went over the entire home in my presence explaining what he was doing at every step. Later that evening he provided a very detailed report complete with pictures and recommendations including longer term maintenance items. He tested every outlet including verifying GFCI of appropriate outlets. He opened and checked every window. He operated all appliances and verified that they were working correctly. He tested the furnace and air conditioner including verifying heat rise between inlet and outlet air temperatures. He checked the foundation and water outside the home as well as the roof. He went up in the attic and checked the HVAC system there as well as checking for any water leakage.
The report was provided online with security credentials required for access in both HTML and PDF formats. The report included pictures of all important items, manufacturer and serial number of all appliances, and full recommendations of things that should be corrected or maintained.

    ServiClean Inc
First, getting a company was really difficult after Hurricane Sandy and they kept us informed during that day.  Arrived at 10p.m., worked until 2a.m. - got the job done under awful conditions, our basement was a disaster and they did what we couldn't have done ourselves.
