Dr. Kingston was very congenial, upbeat, and knowledgeable. He x-rayed my knee but it didn't show anything conclusive. Upon examining my knee he said it showed symptoms of a torn meniscus (which would require surgery) but needed an MRI to be certain.
I had the MRI done, which showed no tear. He gave me a few alternatives and I chose to have an injection of a steroid pain reliever. In 3 days' time, the pain was gone and has not returned.
It was easier than I expected to get these appointments, so I didn't have to wait long. Everything went smoothly and I have no complaints.

Excellent results were achieved with minimal discomfort and no complications encountered. Follow up treatment and rehab services were excellent and I completed the treatments in record time. Dr Kingston and staff were caring, professional, and definitely the best medical team in the area.

Met with Dr Samuel Robinson about my knee pain and wouldn't you know he studied under the doctor from HSS in NYC that resurfaced my right hip so I knew right off the bat that I was in good hands. He took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my knee and all of the options and what options were and were not worth exploring. Long and short of it...he sent me to PT and my knee pain hasn't been back since!

My initial contact was with Dr. McFarland. He had treated me in the past for a lis franc injury and broken bone in my foot. He recommended that Dr. Haynes treat me owing to the injury to my knee, a torn ACL.

An MRI confirmed the torn ACL. Dr. Haynes prescribed a series of physical therapy appointments with a follow-up. My goal has been to avoid surgery.

The physical therapists were excellent. I have been through physical therapy before due to a spinal injury (car accident) and sports injuries. Let's face it - it is never something you look forward to doing. This was a completely different environment. I was encouraged to work at home with a set of exercises. Not once did I feel I was browbeaten or belittled because I didn't progress. The team of therapists were sticklers on how the exercises were performed but always encouraged me. It was by far one of the positive experiences I have ever had with regards to physical therapy. The hours were convenient. I would recommend them wholeheartedly!

I had a follow up with Dr. Haynes. My progress has continued with regards to mobility and healing. It has been over a week without my brace. I still have some soreness but overall it has been very manageable.

I have continued with the physical therapy exercises at home and at work. I have one more appointment with Dr. Haynes, in December.

    Kingston, Dr. Colin M
Had a total knee replacement.  Lead up and preparation was excellent and thorough.  Operation went very smoothly and no after operation problems were encountered.  Dr Kingston is the best in the Hampton Roads area without a doubt.  Recovery and rehab were extremely well done and managed.  I highly recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic services!

Have been going to this office for over 2 years and the pain is as bad as ever. The billing department does not know how to work with insurance companies. After assuring me that a 3 shot procedure was covered by my insurance, I ended up paying over $750 out of pocket for a procedure that did not work.
Word of caution, don't take their word about what your insurance will cover, check with your own company!!

I woke up in the middle of the night with my left hand on fire with numbing pain. I'd had carpal tunnel in the past and had treated it primarily with ergonomic changes. I was at a new job and thought I would have problems because my desk had no keyboard tray; however I was fine for the first 6-7 months. Then I started doing yard work - raking, mowing - things that required gripping my hands - and a couple other things that added more stress, and it came back with a vengeance literally overnight.
A coworker recommended Dr. Campaloterro at Tidewater Ortho; both she and her mother had seen him and were very happy with the treatment they received. I got an appointment within 2 days of calling, much to my surprise. The office is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff was courteous and prompt. The doctor was great - he was kind and attentive, didn't try to rush through the evaluation, listened well, did a basic exam, then he spent time explaining my treatment options and gave me choices.
Considering that it was fairly obvious that I needed a keyboard tray to relieve my symptoms and it was nothing out of the ordinary, he treated me with respect and didn't make me feel unimportant (an experience I'd had years before in another city).
He sent me to hand therapy, where there were three full-time hand therapists. I saw Terry and she was compassionate, intelligent and competent. She showed me some stretching exercises to help alleviate the pressure on the nerve. I did them and found them helpful. I went back 2 more times and by then the keyboard tray was helping tremendously, so I didn't have to continue but I still do the exercises almost daily just as a preventive measure.
All in all I was impressed with their friendly, can-do attitude and their level of expertise. I definitely recommend them.

I recently had a shoulder injury at work. The injury was very painful and caused me to lose time at work. The doc-in-a-box I visited made my appointment with Tidewater Ortho for the next day. I arrived on time and they got me in ahead of schedule. I was pleased that I did not wait long in the waiting room or in the doctors office. The nurse was quite friendly as was the doctor. I saw doctor Sablan who, I believe, is a spine specialist. He checked my shoulder and seemed very knowledgeable about shoulders. I must point out that he was filling in for the regular shoulder guy. He was concerned that the original diagnosis may be incorrect and checked me out thoroughly. My only concern was that he seemed to be in a bit of a hurry. I really can't fault him for that, as all doctors are that way anymore. He ordered x-ray tests and an mri test. I would gladly see him again for issues of this type.

    Payne, Dr. Loel Z
If shoulder pain is keeping you up at night, you need to call him. They have the X rays and MRI's right there. It's a busy practice. I heard someone else say they didn't like him, but, he told me what he found, what he was going to do, why, and I was satisfied. I give him high ratings and will continue to see him in the future.
