    KAB Grounds Maintenance Inc.
They come every two weeks.  I've been using them for twenty years plus.  I give a flat fee for year round service for seeds, getting up leaves, for everything not just for cutting the lawn it's for everything for year round.  They always cater to my needs.  That's why I've been with them for twenty years.  If I call them for something I don't like.  They come right up here within an hour and fix it.  They do good work.  They do outstanding work.  They are professional.  They are personal.  When you've used somebody for twenty years.  That says something within itself.

    The Lawn Barber
The Lawn Barber has been maintaining our 1 1/4 acre lawn since 2004. They have preformed several tasks for me through the years; lawn cutting, landscaping, mulching, leak removal and bush and hedge trimming. They are very professional, trust worthy, great service & value for the money and are always arrive at the scheduled time. I have and will continue to recommend The Lawn Barbers to friends and family. Bruce in Hampton.

Actual coverage was 2/3 of the lawn and most of the year I had weeds in the coverd part most of the time and in the part they didn't do was lots of weeds.  I called a couple of times and was told it would be corrected but it never was.  I canceled the renewal.

    Freedom Land Works
Donnie came by greeted me and reviewed the yard and started the task.  He was very informative, courteous, and polite.  He provided me with very helpful and useful information to use in keeping my yard beautiful.  I did not expect to get anything in addition but I received more than expected.  it was worth every cent I paid.  I would highly recommend this company for any yard service needs and I am referring Freedom Land Works to all of my friends.  Donnie rocks!

Service was good, tech was knowledgeable, results visible after a few days. Weeds are dying. That's what I really wanted to see. The tech promised a follow up visit but have not heard or seen this yet. I believe they follow a program, a good program but have a hard time providing personal service for specific jobs or issues. I will update once I get the follow up service completed.

The provider did a good job but the national office was horrible. We read all the complaints about TruGreen billing continuing to bill even after requests to stop service. We decided to be smart about it and pay in advance for one year. Approximately one year later we started getting phone calls at 8pm saying we owed a balance and would we like to make a payment. We explained we never authorized an additional service beyond one year but the person on the phone (who sounded like a collection agency) simply said we owed. I've NEVER been late on a bill and NEVER been turned over to a collection agency so after several phone calls repeatedly telling us we owed money my wife called during business hours and was transferred multiple times until she found someone who could look us up in their system. Turns out we still had 3 months left on the initial one year payment. This was infuriating to us. We were made to feel like we were defaulting on a payment when in fact that was not the case. The worst part of it is the local guy doing the work is the one who suffered when we asked for the remaining three months be refunded. We would have continued the service and paid in advance had the national billing office not acted so unprofessional.

I've been a TruGreen customer for approx. 10 years. I was happy with their service in the beginning. Within the last 3 to 4 years, they have not responded to my requests for lawn inspection of trouble areas and have stopped applying lime during aeration and overseeding, even though they have always done it in the past. A soil analysis, by them, clearly showed that my soil requires substantial feedings of lime to stay green.Corporate customer service (Ken) stated several times that someone would contact me , but no one ever did. It appears that TruGreen has too many customers and no time to follow up with complaints.

On Angie's List C = FAIR...and that's what they were...fair. I am pleased with the end product but what a nightmare it was to get there so please read the full review and then decide whether or not it is a fair one...

I want to first start with the positive...the work crew that showed up to do the work was spot on. They did great work, were extremely friendly, and cleaned the job site up very well.

Now for the negative...if there is is a weak link in the chain it is the owner/sales rep. His communication skills are just not there. If you are the type of person that does not mind being kept up to date or likes to have to chase down your contractor then LCOHR is for you because that is what you will be doing if you sign up. As a matter of fact they were supposed to come and finish turning on my irrigation system 3 weeks ago (because they only turned on half the first time??) and I am still waiting for that to happen...

    Hear is the full story...

I called LCOHR in March to get on their schedule for sod install in the spring so I could beat the heat...long story short they didn't get to my job until mid June...mainly due to crazy weather and the sod farm had difficulty with the sod that I wanted...that in itself is understandable but you would think I would get a phone call at some point telling me this...nope...I had to consistently track them down for information and finally we had to go with another type of sod. The day finally comes where they show up to begin the work and all goes well until I come home from work around 4:30pm on a very humid day to find my sod sitting on pallets in the road an it had just rained on them. I call LCOHR and ask what is going on and they proceed to tell me that they have been sitting at another site waiting for the sod (not sure I believe that but give benefit of the doubt) and I explained that all the research that I had done stresses not to leave the sod overnight on the pallets and definitely don't let them get wet...well they did both and the result was the first set of pictures (before). almost have of the sod died off and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The weekend had come and no phone call from LCOHR so again I had to chase them down to ensure they would be coming out that Monday to replace the bad sod...Long story short LCOHR did finally replace the dead spots but the pieces they used had a lot of weeds that come up in them which I had to hand pick out myself over the course of the last 3 weeks. I didn't bother to call and complain about that because at this point I am just over chasing them around. The funny thing is I was still going to give them another chance but finally the icing on the cake was I asked them to come back and turn on the rest of my irrigation system and they were going to charge me a $65 service call which I was fine with but guess what?? I have not heard or seen them in 3 weeks and the other half of my irrigation system is still not turned on.

Look at the after I said I am satisfied with the final result BUT because of the very poor communication I will not and would not recommend this company to a close friend.

If Lawn Care of Hampton Roads takes nothing else from this review...please either get on the ball with communicating with your customers or consider hiring a sales person that knows how to interact with and keep customers up to date.

    NaturaLawn Of America
They are absolutely wonderful people to work with and my lawn is finally starting to look great (a lot less crabgrass than last year and the miles we've had for the last 3 years are finally GONE)! They leave detailed reports of what they did and what they recommend and aren't the least bit pushy about trying to upsell additional services. Finally, they called a couple of days later to double check that we had gotten their report and that we were satisfied with the service (we weren't home when they treated the lawn). We live on a lake so the natural element is really important to us since we don't want to pollute the surrounding waterways and I'm really impressed with their product's effectiveness and with their service.

    Pro Landscapes by Chris Moore
Lawncare of Hampton Roads has serviced us for approximately one year. During that time we have had regular lawn maintenance, several plants installed, routine landscaping, and the special lawn treatment involving weed control, seeding and aeration. The last work performed involved removal of debris, sculpting a dirt mound to look more presentable, seeding, and ditch work. On the first day of work three men arrived and did most of the clearing, and prep for the final work. Once the man in charge determined that it was no longer necessary for the additional help, he sent the other men on another job, thereby lowering our individual cost. He finished off the work over a period of 2 to 3 days with his machine and straightened out a back ditch, really fixed up a messy area and three months later the area is showing a healthy growth of grass without the accompanying weeds. The dirt mound is sculpted beautifully and is ready for planting of decorativfe shrubs etc. once we decide what we want to put there. I was so pleased with Mark's professional attitude. He listened to what we asked him to do and made appropriate suggestions as to what would work well. At no time did he act impatient, overbearing, or like we were asking too much. My experience in the past with places like MGM, and other lawncare services has been so negative I wince when I think about it. Lawncare of HR has always been fantastic, prompt, reasonably priced, and absolutely professional. Chris, the owner, hires the best in my opinion and is willing to work with his customers to satisfy their lawncare needs to their satisfaction. If we have any objection to the service,( ie: a hose run over by a mower,) he makes sure to fix it.
