    Gibson Concrete
On January 30, 2019 we signed a contract with this company for the above services. We paid $6050 downpayment on a $9700 project. On February 8, after tearing out the existing patio and clearing out the debris, Richard Gibson requested and addition $1500 claiming hardship due to his wife's illness, and promising that he would finish the job. Feeling sorry for him, we paid an additional $1500. The total paid as of February 8, 2019 is now $7550, leaving a balance of $2150 on the $9700 project. Richard Gibson and his crew removed the existing patio and cleaned and hauled away the debris. Richard Gibson and his crew have not performed any work on the project since February 8, 2019. For over 60 days, we have gotten all sorts of excuses, promises... from his wife being ill, to him being in the hospital with chest pains on March 29. In the meantime, the patio that he tore out is an overgrown, hazardous eyesore. My 71st birthday/party/cookout celebration had to be held somewhere else. My great nephews birthday celebration had to be held at a restaurant, instead of the scheduled cookout at my home. Access to the backyard is hazardous as well have to navigate over the rough, overgrown area, and step over the 4 inch framework; husband has tripped several times. Again, we're in our 70's and cannot afford a 'fall'. At this point, we're out of $7550 and all we have is an overgrown eyesore. We have fired Richard Gibson, requested a $4550 refund and seeking another contractor to finish the job that he abandoned. I would NEVER recommend him or his company, as I wouldn't want ANYONE to experience this...

    Pro Landscapes by Chris Moore
From the very first call, this company was great to deal with. I mostly dealt with TJ, and he was amazing. My yard was just plain lawn, with a really ugly cement walk and driveway. They demo'd all the cement, then moved the driveway where I wanted it and put down a lovely walkway and cement pad for my garbage cans, all bordered by really nice pavers. Chris even built the most amazing raised front porch. The yard was seeded and I got plants and trees for the front and back. It took awhile, but that was due to the exceptionally rainy April we had. I get compliments all the time, and I now have the nicest yard on the block. I'd HIGHLY recommend these guys

    Concrete America
We are a young couple trying to establish ourselves and the dumbest thing we have ever done was to hire Shawn Jones, owner of Concrete America. He was supposed to lay down a 35X30 concrete slab in our backyard for a future basketball court. We paid $2,550 upfront for the forms and the ordering of the concrete. After a couple of hours of digging with two of his employees, Shawn said he couldnt finish installing the forms because he ran out of screws. They left and never came back. The next day, he made an excuse and said his truck wouldnt start and couldnt come out to finish the job. We would catch him in several lies and come to find out, he is a drug addict and probably spent our hard earned money elsewhere. We are filing suit in small claims court we probably will never get our money back but at this point its more of a principal and ethical issue.

I do not recommend H W Enterprises, Stacey Berland (owner) or Tommie Franklin (superintendent) to build, design, renovate or work on any type of construction project. They are not trustworthy, nor competent. They do not stay on site when work is being done. They often don't show up at all. She supervises work after it is done, resulting in rework. She contracts to install mini-splits, but actually gives the customer PTACs instead. We are 2 disabled Veterans, with 50 years of service between us. We hired HWE to do a major renovation. 1400 sq ft addition, 1 new bath, 2 remodeled baths, 12 new windows and driveway work. The job was so my recently widowed mother could come live with us. It was to be a 30 day job. On day 46, with about 40% of the work completed, she quit. We found out only when the trades & suppliers started calling us. She has received 73% of the job's cost. We will have to take her to court in order to recover the thousands of dollars she stole from us. Her erratic behavior is unnerving. Use someone - anyone - else. You have been warned...

Their quote was fast and they were ready to help me out the next week. Outstanding work! Jimmy got my curved concrete pad done just the way I wanted it. They were fast and professional. I would hire them again tomorrow if I had more work for them.

    Belletto Construction Inc
In early March we received an estimate to put in a large concrete driveway.  We chose Balletto because their estimate was prompt, reasonable, and included a detailed drawing of what the finished driveway would look like.  The estimate included excavation and the addition of a drainage pipe.  The drainage pipe ended up being a no-go because our gas line inconveniently is located right where the pipe would need to go.  They still charged for the drainage pipe even though it wasn't purchased or installed.
On June 18 we received a call, they'll start work on our driveway on the 20th.  We were so excited we left from vacation early to make sure we were there for the ground-breaking.  They never showed up.  We called and they said they'd start the job on June 23.  They arrived around 1:30 and told us they'd start the job tomorrow.  They didn't show up.  On June 29 they finally broke ground.
Last year was pretty rainy so they weren't able to pour the concrete for about a month, enough time for a significant amount of grass to grow on the excavated site.  They showed up to pour on July 22 and poured right over the grass.  I didn't realize at the time that concrete should never be poured over organic material, without a gravel base and/or wire mesh.  I don't know much about concrete , but my friends with concrete experience were pretty dumbfounded when I posted a picture online of the concrete being poured.  The phrase "I hope you have a warranty" was said more than a few times.
Anyway, it's been about 8 months since the job was finished.  There's a large low spot that puddles significantly, I'd need rain boots to keep my feet dry while walking through it, and it already has a crack running nearly the full width of the driveway.  With no wire mesh to keep the crack in-check, it's sure to grow wider with every freezing rain and eventually have grass running through it.  I emailed the company to see if anything can be done and didn't receive a response.  I really didn't expect to get one, but it's only fair to give them a chance.
We were left with the impression that our job was an inconvenience.  The workers were nice enough and worked hard when they finally did show up.
I've never written a bad review before and it is not a pleasant experience.  Pretty bummed about it.

    Belletto Construction Inc
It took a while to schedule the job but I got a call when there was a cancellation & they were able to start the same day. This is the second job Belletto has done for me and the results are just as beautiful as the first, which was a tile floor. The two young men who came were prompt, careful, polite, conscientious and neat. I had a lot of books, musical instruments, artwork, etc. in the room. They moved what might have been damaged, covered the rest in plastic, put things back and cleaned up carefully. My ceiling, completed in 2.5 days, is gorgeous and I'm very pleased.

    Belletto Construction Inc
Absolutely first-class from start to finish!  From the initial consultation, estimate and design by the company ownership to the final stages of installation by a top-notch crew, we were very impressed with the professionalism, expertise, communication and flexibility of Belletto's entire team.  Through the design phase, Dan Belletto was extremely responsive in responding to service calls and visits to help through modifications, and provided great advice to ensure our project was completed to our complete satisfaction.  The installation crew was superb--courteous, talented and also helped us through some last-minute modifications with great recommendations.  The project was started and completed on time, and they voluntarily worked over the weekend to make sure they met all deadlines.  The project included some electrical mods, construction design, tiling, light installation, insulation, painting and more--and every phase was executed with perfection, accuracy and technical expertise.

    Gibraltar Group Remodeling and Construction
Tried to get him to come and look at my driveway. I sent him a list of suggested questions about insurance and him being bonded. He then called me back and said the city of Hampton would not issue him a permit to complete the job if he wasn't bonded. He stated that he would look into getting bonded and he would get back with me. Never got back in touch with me. I then see on his profile he is showing bonded. He did not seem as professional as he stated. He did not call back and that isn't good business practice.

They came and completed the estimate. They gave me the cost and I explained online it showed 10% off through Angie's List. He said he could not honor this and it wouldn't be applied. I feel as the owner he should know what is on his profile and what is being offered.
