    Snell Heating & Air Conditioning
    Snell Heating and Air Conditioning installed a heat pump and air handler in my home on May 30. I have to say I am disappointed. The system recommended by Snell and sold to us apparently is considerably more powerful than our old system and has resulted in a massive increase in noise from our ductwork. The noise created by the new system was such that watching television, holding a conversation in certain rooms, or even sleeping was difficult. Snell���s customer support was a mixed bag. On the good side, when techs were scheduled, they arrived promptly. Other times we were told Snell would ���get back to me��� on questions, but this did not happen. Sorry ��� lack of follow-up to a customer���s call is not good customer service. The system install also failed our county���s electrical inspection. It has taken two months and two tries to get anywhere near an acceptable fix to the noise problem. Frankly, I would have given Snell a much lower score than "C", except for the help and advice I got from our last technician, Chris ��� who was able to accurately diagnose the problem and implement a partial solution. Kudos to him. The system still creates much more noise in the ductwork than I would like, but short of replacing it with something smaller, I don���t see a better solution. We���re OK with the increased airflow and accept the increased noise as an unhappy byproduct. However, I do believe Snell does need to do a better job at sizing their systems or explaining the implications to customers before installation.

    Argent Heating And Cooling LLC
    We hired this company in fall of 2017 to install/replace a mini split unit to a home we had just bought. Upon initial installation, the outside case was cracked and the unit was not installed flush against the wall. It took until 2019 to get the case in from Japan (we were told). In the interim, we used the unit for A/C for the remainder of 2017 while warm, then to heat the room through the winter. When it started to warm up again in Spring 2018, we tried to cool the room and the unit would not cool. We called Argent and they sent out a tech who had to replace the coolant and it worked through 2018 summer. We checked in with the company periodically on the cracked case, but then in Spring 2019 the unit again failed to cool. As it turned out, there was something inside that leaked (coil I think they said). They had to order that part (and others) and came back. At this time, the also finally had the new cover. The unit was completely removed from the wall, ���fixed,��� and put back up. There was a total of four trips to our house (at least) by this time. After all of the above, the unit is worse off than ever. It doesn���t cool to the set temperature (if we set to 72 it won���t get below 76, not sure it will even get below 76) and it is now even farther off the wall. Below is what it looks like today. We can���t even paint the wall because it is dripping water. Argent wanted to send out another team to reinstall the exact same unit. I said at this point I wanted a new unit and a proper re installation. I was told they would check on my option. That was a week ago and they haven���t bothered to call me back.

    Absolutely FANTASTIC!! We've had troublesome systems and one we knew needed replacing. Not only did they do a great job replacing that system at a great price, they diagnosed the other troublesome systems and we finally have a direction in which to move with those. We have air exchangers, UV sterilizing systems and humidifiers and these folk understand it all! Highly trustworthy, lovely to work with and extremely capable. They've earned a lifetime customer!

    At the time of installation, the high water pressure in my home (100 psi) caused some plumbing problems. Also, the initial amount of hot water was insufficient. The company promptly reimbursed me for the cost of a plumber to fix the plumbing problems that occurred at the time of installation. Later, when I phoned about the amount of hot water, the company sent a technician out the next day. He thoroughly checked the water heater and determined that the only problem was the temperature settings for the upper and lower heating elements, which he adjusted. This appears to have solved the problem of insufficient hot water. Garneski specializes in HVAC systems. I have dealt with them for years. They are a high quality company who stand behind their work. (I responded N/A for price because I did not compare their price for the purchase and installation of the hot water heater with that of others.)

    Indoor Air Quality Medics
    These guys were wonderful and fixed what another poor company wouldn't admit to doing wrong! We bought our house from buyers who had a new unit installed, but that company never connected the air intake from the outside. They made excuses that it was clogged, but the reality was they were using a tube too small and the air couldn't flow. These guys sent out one of their best guys who figured this out quickly and was able to connect it properly without hiccups. They did this after already sending out their air duct cleaning crew who patiently rescheduled so I could have it connected before the cleaning. Despite not knowing right away whether it could be cleaned with or without the air intake connected, they were gracious enough to send their crew out to see about it, and reschedule when they realized it indeed needed to be connect it first. No extra charge for me. This is simplifying the story a bit, since I got more bad advice from yet another company prior to all of this. Indoor Air Quality Medics had no trouble figuring out what could be done and fixed it easily and without complications. I'm very happy with their service! $380 to connect the air intake properly and $325 for the duct cleaning service. It turns out I didn't need the duct cleaning per previous bad advice, but I'm happy to have paid them for it anyway. They deserve it. Now I have made sure there are no clogs, it's installed properly, an it is now running at full efficiency. Perfection and peace of mind. Thanks guys!

    We worked with Paul who is an excellent communicator and answered all our questions as we decided go through with replacing our existing 3 air source heat pump systems (3 ton + 3 ton + 1.5 ton) with 2 geothermal systems (5 ton + 3 ton). At our request, he combined two systems into one and provided us several different scenarios of pricing while noting the pro's and con's of each. I was pleased with the transparency of the process. The cost of service was all-inclusive: drilling 4 x 320' bore holes, permits, equipment (Waterfurnace 7 Series 5-ton and Waterfurnace 5 Series 3-ton), related add-ons and accessories, installation including removal of old systems, and substantial work to combine two systems into one. We are pleased with the systems (they went live in July) and it has made the home much more comfortable. There were no surprises or deviations from the contract with N. American Geothermal and the billing process, done on a milestone basis, was clear and straightforward. A's across the board, one B given for punctuality because in the final stages of install, it took some additional time for N. American to get their subcontractors all coordinated. The geothermal technology itself is great for a variety of reasons and we were happy to have N. American Geothermal install it for us.

    This company is unreliable. They scheduled an appointment between 8 and noon, texted a reminder that they���d be coming, then failed to show up or even provide any notification. Don���t use them unless you like wasting your time.

    Presidential Heating & Air Conditioning
    In summer of 2016, we retained Presidential to change our HVAC system. It was a big job and the approximate cost was $15000 to $20,000. We did our research, and based on the recommendations in Angie's list, decided to go with Presidential. The sales experience was smooth. Our sales person, Glenn was smart and slick. He sold us a good unit with extended warranty and service contract for roughly $17000. We had cheaper options with similar units but our experience with Presidential seemed to be really good. Glenn did a great job of selling us on the value of the company and their code of conduct. Our experience with Presidential is that it is a dishonest company. In the quote, and invoice, they charged us for 10 year parts and labor warranty. When we called for warranty service, they claimed to not have it on file. The company now blames Glenn for not "adding it" to the contract. We have called multiple times and every time they promise to look into it and get back to us. We never receive a return call. Had they told us it was not included in the price, we would have been okay with it. The issue we have is their dishonesty and misrepresentation. They told us one thing and did not put it into their contract. The quote was sent to us as an online quote. We really did not have "contract". We just received an invoice that did not provide the details. The invoice was supposed to work with the online quote. No one wants to take accountability on their part. Lack of professionalism is a key issue with the company. They bad mouthed the other company we were working with to get an alternative quote and claimed that their sales person was fired from Presidential. We are very disappointed and would never use them again. We recommend that you avoid using Presidential.
