TERRIBLE! Work was completed in Oct 2016 and right away I could see the grass didn't take. By March/April,several trees & scrubs had died and it was obvious that they planted rye grass instead of fescue as described in their contract. The ground was full of rocks which they just planted over. They were supposed to come back to replace grass and dead trees and came out to look at everything in April. It's now July and they haven't done the work. Kept blaming it on rain but in reality, they just put new clients ahead of me. Rain doesn't delay a company for 3 months! He gave me a date for the work to be done about 3 times and then did not show up and blamed it on weather. But, then didn't reschedule or come back. I found Mike to be extremely unresponsive, especially when there was bad news. He also significantly underestimated the cost for landscaping around the pool because he didn't take into account the slope of the ground-- that cost an incremental $20K. He's really nice and has great ideas. The patio around the pool is very pretty as was the plan for landscaping. He just doesn't follow through even after spending as much as we did.

It was great. Chris' team did a really nice job with both the deck, the patio and the transition to the existing walkway. The bed work is very nice as well. They communicate well and show up on the scheduled dates.

Soni Singh and his team were outstanding. They started right on time, finished on time and worked very hard throughout. They consulted us as needed to make sure execution met expectations. The workmen were courteous and  prompt. The workmanship is great and the quality adds definite value to our property.

The initial experience with ALS was positive. The primary reason I selected ALS was their "guarantee. They did a significant amount of drainage work in my yard and even came back for some additional work when the initial attempt didn't fix the issue. ". My issues arose 1 - 1/2 years later when water started pooling in the back yard in a way it never had previously. Because ALS knew where $14k of existing drainage had been installed, I attempted to contact them to review the issue. After leaving many voice mails, sending emails through their site and and old email address I had for Kenny, I had almost given up when I tried one more time and Laura answered the phone. She made an appointment for someone to stop by that week and they never showed up. I tried reaching them several times after and no response. I am now moving on with another company that believes the source of the water is in fact the drainage that was installed by ALS leaking out into the yard before it reaches the exit point. What upsets me is that I am convinced that ALS purposefully avoided my calls assuming that I would hold them to their "guarantee" and expect free labor. I would have had no issue paying for additional work. I just wanted someone familiar with the existing drainage to be involved, even if it was just meeting with the new company to explain what had been done. I would not recommend this company to anyone. At this point, the work will proceed with another landscaper. If they find that it is in fact due to improper work by ALS, I have half a mind to take them to task on the guarantee legally simply to force them to stop offering this as part of their pitch. Not because it's useless, but because once you have paid, they disappear for fear you may use it. I would rather have someone I can count on using again.

    Mark Morrison Paving
The work was not done by Mark Morrison.  We called Mark two days after receiving the quote to let him know that we wanted to move forward and schedule the work.  Mark did not return our call.  We called seven additional times and left messages with his message service and again received no call back.  We even emailed him through the "contact us" his company' website and received no response.  It is okay that Mark did not want our business however he could have shown some accountability and called us back.  We went with another company.

GSU constructed a 16'x16' paver patio that includes a 12' raised, circular fire pit with seat wall (pit itself is approximately 5ft), a path from patio to driveway on side of house, relocation of a tree and landscaping.  Project also included low voltage, LED lighting along path and around pit.  From start to finish, GSU provided excellent service.  From design, recommendations, quality, attention to detail, extra "touches",etc...everything met and exceeded my expectations.   Prior to choosing GSU, I consulted with two other companies providing a similar service.  GSU stood out in their presentation, explanations and recommendations of the entire project.

    Erik Cook Landscapes
The job got started a few days later than expected as Erik and team were tied up on a prior job that was taking longer and was delayed by the weather. Eric communicated proactively and has been great to work with. His pricing is well understood in advance and along the way as new requirements surface.
The projects were completed per expectation within about 3-4 days in a major heat wave. Erik and team worked through it tirelessly.
Stone work came out great even though pieces of it were a bit tricky. Haven't had a great test of the drainage system yet given lack of rain in the area in July. But expect it to be an upgrade from before.
Only a few small complaints - very minor but in the spirit of providing detailed feedback. Note that this did not affect my perception of the overall job performance (reflected in my ratings).
    1. The stone work (cutting stone) created a lot of dust and coated a lot of my house and my neighbors. Maybe cutting the stone away from the houses would have been better.
    2. I had to spend a little time pulling mulch away from the trunks or trees, shrubs, etc. Given the size of my yard, the amount of plants, etc that takes time. Given the amount of mulch and major heat wave (98+ for each day), I'm not surprised that the team didn't do this as they were going through the job
    3. The stone work looks great but I think there was some confusion on what stone to use for which walls (single sided retaining wall stone was used for the kneewall visible on 2 sides and a lot of the smaller wall stone wasn't used as I expected. I wasn't there to provide specific direction and assumed that it was clear which stone was for which wall and that I wanted the variable size stones on the walls. Still looks good and we've had some compliments on that work but not 100% what I originally intended.
Again, minor details / issues and I would certainly use Erik again and recommend him to others.

    Advanced Landscape Solutions

Kenny Estes provided a mock up design of the proposed addition - patio, fire pit, planters, walk, and steps to show us what it would look like in concept. He had software where he took the "as is" and was able to digitally add in what the his proposal would look like. He also provided estimates on the cost and timing to address the sagging of my existing patio, due to subsidence. His crew worked well and made changes to suit my wife on the new additions around the fire pit and planters. They performed the work in a timely manner and showed up when promised. The new addition looks very good and Advanced Landscape Solutions did a good job repairing the issues with my existing patio, pavers, and planters.

I waited before providing feedback to Angie's List as I wanted to see how the work looked after time had elapsed. Advanced Landscape Solutions did a good job and I would use them again.

Very good to work with. I was adding another 8 feet to my concrete pool deck - they were able to make several very good suggestions which were incorporated into the final product. Work was done on time, with appropriate follow up to make sure the job was done correctly. It looks great!

I purchased this company's Big Deal for Custom Outdoor Living Space Design Including Measurements & Plans on Angie's List.  David was fairly prompt on getting back with me, and did an initial inspection and survey on March 15.  We had just had a pool installed, and his concept of "Outdoor Living Space Design" made me envision something that would fuse together light, hardscape, plants, furniture, and sound.
After two contact attempts through the company's web site, David got back to me saying that they had been slammed with the number of requests.  He then sent me a set of drawings and a quote.  The drawing was a single hand-sketched page with rough measurements but no real detail, and the quote was for a retaining wall and pavers with a "built-in grill" but no details on what this would entail.  No information on the type of wall (other than it needed fill dirt and rock), nor on the pavers as to what they would look like, etc.
I was extremely disappointed, and I believe I would have received this minimal amount of material had I simply called the company to come out and give me an estimate without paying them $49.  When a firm is paid for "Design Work" they should be prepared to go beyond a paper sketch and a single page that proposed $20,000 worth of work.
Their Angie's List ratings would indicate that perhaps they do better work than this transaction indicated, but I was totally underwhelmed.
