The Hair Studio of Olde Town
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!! First of all I googled CND Certified Nail Professionals and found Michelle Shealy. SHE IS AMAZING! This girl definitely knows what she is doing and does the best manicure and pedicure I have ever had. I am super picky and a perfectionist, and I had not one thing to critique about my shellac manicure. It was PERFECT! I get tons of compliments on my nails and I love it! Oh and to top off an amazing experience she is EXTREMELY clean! I will never go anywhere else I am a customer for life! Thank you Michelle! I highly recommend coming here for Manicures and Pedicures! See you in 2 weeks for another manicure and color!

    Salon 730
This was my first visit to Salon 730 and it was perfect. My appointment was with Cody, who did a wonderful job coloring and cutting my hair. The salon is very professional, the decor is lovely and everything is very clean and inviting. All the staff members are very nice, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. We are lucky to have this salon in Fredericksburg!

    Flawless Face & Body
I found them through a search engine.  I had browsed their website 2 days prior to my appt.  I arrived on time for my appt.  I was greeted upon entering, however the 2 employees behind the desk made no further effort to make me feel that they appreciated my business.
The pictures on their website are deceiving.  I would give them a failing grade for cleanliness.  There was debris, dirt, hair, paper, strings, etc. all over the floor in all of the rooms.  Business was very slow.  I got the feeling that the owner must not be keeping the place up.  It's in need of a very good cleaning.  Some of the chairs had stains.
Stacie performed my manicure.  She was knowledgeable & did a fair job, however I got the feeling that she had not performed a mani in a very long time.  She took a very long time to file/shape my nails.  I asked if they receive much business for manis, & she replied no, that they mostly book pedis.  I found it very strange that there was no system in place for drying the nail polish.  Not even fans.  Stacie explained that they let their clients "air dry".
Their website shows the following info:
Flawless Signature Manicure   Experience customized care for your hands. This rejuvenating service includes proper maintenance and grooming of nails and cuticles, personalized massage and a customized exfoliation. A necessary spa experience to bring your hands and feet back into balance. $25 - Series of 6: $135
When we reached the lotion/massage part of the manicure, realizing that the exfoliation should have been done prior to the massage, I inquired about it.  Stacie replied that exfoliating is not included in this massage.  I explained what I had read I on their website.  She went to check their website.  Upon returning she explained that she "didn't know why it reads like that, because that is wrong" & offered to perform the exfoliation.  At this point I had already been there over an hour, so I declined, & requested to finish up with the manicure.  In my community $25 for a basic manicure is very high.  Most charge $15.
Overall I felt that the professionalism, courtesy, & cleanliness were not what they should be.

    The Spa At CTS
I had read reviews on Angie's List and so decided to give them a try. I had learned ahead of time (through their website) that they are a teaching facility. CTS was ok, but I wasn't impressed. I won't be returning.
Had difficulty finding their location. CTS is located in a large office building. There is a sign visible from the street which bears names of the different businesses in that building. CTS' business name is not included on the sign. The street # appears in small text on the sign. The building is set off and away from the street. You are required to park in a very large parking area, enter the large office building and then find their suite #.
I arrived about 10-15 min. prior to my appt. time. I checked in at the front desk and waited about 10 min. before the tech came out to greet me.
I was taken to a small room where there were 2 pedicure stations and 4 manicure stations. The tech who performed my services shared with me that she had 7 years experience. During my procedures there were 2 other students who were coming in and out of the room to and quot;observeand quot;. They were chatting the entire time. It just wasn't a relaxing experience. The pedicure was almost complete before the tech advised me about the massage on the chair, pillow behind, etc.
Pedicure was done in a foot bath, aka--a tub with a disposable lining. Exfoliating scrub was not really rinsed off, as there was no running water. The flow of both the mani and pedi just didn't seem to follow a format. The tech didn't seem to know the location of the bowls needed for the mani. The gals were nice enough, but it just wasn't a relaxing experience for me.
Odd that when you call to book an appt., you are told that they will call you back if they can and quot;find someoneand quot; for you. I hadn't decided if I would be returning for a 2nd visit, however I did inquire about an appt. for a mani the next week. I received a phone call telling me that they could not find anyone. They did not offer to schedule me on a different time or day.
