    The color was awful. After 3.5 hours in the chair I was too tired to say anything and hoped it would look a little different after a couple of washes. Thanksgiving happened between then and when I finally made contact after three weeks to talk about how unhappy I was with it and what we might do to correct it. I sent the email to the address on stylist's business card twice and even called the salon to ask them to ask her to check email. She wrote me back and although she was willing to makes corrections, she emphasized that it would cost me because she has no idea what products I might have used on my hair since then. I wasn't thrilled with the insinuations. Anyway, I never responded and went back to my stylist in Denver since I had to make a trip back. Even she commented that it was orange. Anyway, I dislike confrontation and I don't like to potentially hurt someone's feelings, but I am left wondering if there is ever a time when a stylist will just simply and immediately own up to that fact that he/she failed.

    I have been coming to Salon 730 for more than two years. During that time, I have had different stylists, but everyone has been very good. The salon is clean and bright and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient and there is plenty of parking space.

    I saw DeeDee following an earlier consultation, and she was wonderful.  I am new to the area and had not been to this salon before. I was impressed with the time and interest taken by DeeDee during the consultation (which also included Billie, the owner).  I scheduled an appointment, and I was very happy with what DeeDee did after listening to what I hoped to achieve.  She did highlighting and then all-over color, followed by a cut that gave me volume and "movement."  The color and the cut were great, and she clearly is a perfectionist!  I scheduled my next appointment with her and look forward to seeing her in the future.  I am very happy with DeeDee and everyone I have met in this salon.  I highly recommend Salon 730.

    Jules is the most talented hair artist I have ever known! Each and every time she does my hair it is perfect. Her ability to create the color and style that is right for each of her clients is always amazing. She is up on all the latest fashion trends, so she's great for those folks who like a slightly trendier style ( like my young-adult daughter), but does a fabulous job at more conservative styles and colors as well. Jules used to be located in Northern Virginia at a well known salon, but has recently moved to virginia beach and has opened her own studio. I drive 2-1/2 hours one way to see her, as I have never found anyone else to do such a great job on my hair. She will pamper you and make you feel absolutely beautiful. Her studio is gorgeous, too! Don't hesitate to trust her with your hair! You will not be sorry!

    The staff is really friendly. The price is a little higher than what I'm used to paying but it's fair. I don't have any issue with them. My husband and I have been going there for probably 3 years. I would give A's in all categories.

    Having specific difficulty with current hair cut.  Wanted a little trimming and shaping.   Should have walked out when I first met the stylist they assigned me, a young lady with limited training I think.  My first clue was that without even talking about what I wanted, she marched me right back for a wash.  Most will talk to you first, get a bit of a feel of your hair and what you want before proceeding.  After the wash, she got out her scissors and I said I wanted to talk first.  I tried to explain the difficulty I was having and what I wanted to accomplish.  She didn't say much but went to work.  Another generation. . . I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt that was growing . . . should have walked out.  She should have clarified if she didn't really understand what I wanted or asked for help if she was clueless.  She just started hacking.  I ended up with something that has no real style, just a mess!  Much shorter than I wanted and the absolute worst hair cut I have ever had!  Other stylists in the salon may be great, but my suggestion:  If someone doesn't come across like they really "get it" when you try to talk to them - RUN!  The worst part, she said the salon owner had helped her while she was in training.  The owner was decorating and in the same room while the hack job was happening and never noticed!  That is the reason I don't even want to return to see what they can do to fix things.  I will hunt another salon - hopefully through Angies' list to repair it.  The only help for it now is a short cut I fear which I really don't want.   When I got home, my husband asked if I looked on Angie's list to find someone . . . now I will.

    I'm a stylist and have worked in the Arlington area for over 27yrs. Living in Fredericksburg and on my birthday I thought I'd treat myself to a hilite. Not wanting to drive over an hour and take up my friends time on their book. I chose this salon because they use Schwarzkopf color. For the past 25yrs, its the only brand I use. The woman who did my hair was very sweet with 20yrs experience (she says). But I should've known when she started the fiols in the front. I only know 1 person who can full foil in 30mn and be precise. She took an hour and a half for a partial. An experianced stylist takes 30mn to complete a partial with small sections weaving fine amounts of hair.That means she had the front blonde and ready while the back just got applied. See when you start in the back you can rince the foils with achieved color and allow front to finish processing. Finishing with same shade of color evenly front and back. I didn't get that. Mine was more of a cat all blonde in the front . Couldn't even tell anything was done in the back. Not noticing I looked like a cat till I got home I called them and asked what did I pay$180 for?? She said $120 for hilites $60 for toner which is comparable to other salons. I replied saying and quot; who Elizabeth Arden on Pencilvania Ave?and quot; They charge $200 for a patrial. I told her and quot;I've been working in Arlington at a high end salon and don't charge that much for just a partial no cut and quot; She said and quot;well you did get a tonerand quot; I said and quot;I've never charged extra for a toner . She said and quot; I've never heard of not charging for the toner?and quot; I said and quot;So in other words you punish your clients because your stylist can't achieve the color that's neededand quot; She got rude and sarcastically said and quot; We'd love to have you back to make you happyand quot; I came back and my 2nd stylist was obviously experienced. But matching the front was no easy task and when done I knew the effort was 100%. The lighting is so so in there and it looked better than a cat. But I was so blonde I felt like a banana was too heavy . After 2weeks I colored it to my natural and called it a day. This salon is over priced with out dated looks. My advice fill your tank head up north pay for parking get hair done correctly give a great tip and have an extra $25 in cash in your pocket. It'll be worth it.

    HORRIBLE.  I started by explaining I wanted to be bleach/beach blonde, pretty and bright.  I specifically told her my hair has a tendency to turn orange when not colored properly and I wanted to ensure that would NOT happen!!  She colored my hair, when it came time to rinse, Lisa said, "Oh, I don't think this is quite what you wanted".  I got up, went to a mirror and wanted to kill myself.  My hair was as orange as a carrott.  I cried.  She told me she would fix it.  6 and 1/2 hours later, it was still horrible....and now damaged.  She charged me $270.00.  I never should have paid her but I just wanted this whole experience OVER.  Lisa should not have a license, has NO business in a salon, is rude (kept me waiting for a long time) and doesn't know what she's doing.  Please save yourself the heartache and don't visit this HORRIBLE hair salon.

    I've been going to the salon on and off since they opened. It's a brand new facility and the Aveda product line is wonderful. There are a lot of things I could say about the staff and the atmosphere, but I am not here to start a smear campaign. I will say that something about the Salon has been rubbing me the wrong way for some time. The prices went up without notice, the service overall was okay, though not excellent for the price or what I thought an Aveda "spa" would be. When I called to make an appointment only to find out my stylist had left, I found I was more upset at losing the stylist, than any loyalty towards the salon.
    I have friends that go there and swear by it, tell me the owner is wonderful to them, but I have never experienced that. The few times I did have the chance to talk to the owner, she made me feel like I was beneath her. I'm so not interested in that and yes, it colors what you think of the whole place.
    The experience itself is okay.  It sometimes feels rushed and chaotic for what is supposed to be a spa-like atmosphere. I never had an issue with the color or the cut I received and that was from multiple stylists at the facility.  Pedicures were okay as were the wax treatments I had. But I just found it mediocre when the price was so high.
    In the end, Jessica was why I went to this salon and with her gone, they will no longer get my business.

    I was greeted immediately and checked in by a friendly front desk staff. The facility is very beautiful with great bold colors and very clean. The atmosphere was organized, yet very friendly, relaxing, and just fun all around.
    I was brought back to the chair by the stylist (Jessica, formerly of Tulips Salon and Spa), where we talked about the cut and what I was looking for. I met the Manager who was warm and friendly as well. In fact, the whole staff was wonderful all the way through check out.
    Jessica did a fabulous job with my hair. I really liked the product line (Euphora) used on my hair as well. I look forward to going back and have, in fact, pre-booked my next appointment.
    I highly recommend this salon. You totally get what you pay for and the price is very decent for what you get by way of overall service.
