Foundation Repair reviews in Fredericksburg

    NV Waterproofing & Foundation Repair
The guy was nice. He had been doing assessments for years. I told him about the mold issues that needed were remediated. Explained now we need to assess the why it happened. He looked over inside and out. Took 10 minutes. He said, he could not smell any mold and that everything was good. Nothing needed to be done. Two day later I found two leaky windows with mold in the wall under them. An entire wall full of mold in kitchen, and the brick at the corner of home was missing a 4ft high by 2ft wide corner. Exposing the entire foundation and heating board. Water had been rolling into the walls of the basement. The front of the home was on a negative grade as well. Not pleased at all!

    JES Foundation Repair
Let me start by saying that from start to finish the whole experience was outstanding. Fred Keen, salesman/estimator, did a thorough job inspecting my entire driveway and identified all cracks that required repair. Not only did he explain the repair process at a level that a layman could understand, the accompanying video of the process was invaluable in explaining what was being done below the concrete. The JES technicians, Steven and Zach, called 30 minutes prior to their arrival (the office confirmed the appointment date via phone and text message earlier in the week), and they arrived on time. They were professional and took time to explain each step in the repair process, and answered all of my questions. Steven and Zach clearly take pride in what they do, because they invited me to watch as they completed the repairs and did so within the time they estimated it would take. They cleaned up all debris (including some that was not of their doing). Their work ethic and cheerful positive attitudes was refreshing. They clearly emulated JES Construction's ethos of providing the highest quality products and service. When the job was completed, it was obvious that I had made the correct choice in selecting JES. I highly recommend them for concrete driveway repairs and they will be my first choice in the event I need their services in the future.

    JES Construction LLC
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT HIRE JES CONSTRUCTION, LLC! After listening to four different companies our needs were narrowed down to two companies recommending the same work with comparable estimated costs. Prior to making our final selection two of our four neighbors on the cul de sac tried hard to convince us not to go with JES Construction LLC. Since our job was so different from theirs, and a variety of other reasons, we chose JES to do the job. We now know why they were so adamant. Out of three homes, two have unresolved issues and one has since given up -- 1x crawlspace encapsulation; 1x structural piers, and ours ?Polymer Fill beneath the garage floor (completed) and Carbon Armor wall-strapping (incomplete). On 6 August 2016, we met with a JES representative and signed an $8435.00 contract for two jobs ? Polymer Fill beneath the settling garage floor and Carbon Armor strapping for the resulting slight tilt of the affiliated basement wall. We paid the required down payment of $1687.00 and within six days scheduled the Poly-fill and Carbon Armor jobs for 16 and 22 September 2016 respectively. Since that time pretty much nothing has occurred as stated and/or scheduled. Having kept a log of events from the start, some examples of JES poor job management, poor communication, and poor customer service include ? ? the very first Carbon Armor appointment required rescheduling due to JES not having obtained the necessary permits; ? the rescheduled Carbon Armor job was left incomplete due to JES not having the necessary equipment on hand or expertise to access all required strapping areas, which were known to JES in advance ? to date a 3? x 2? hole remains in a hallway wall; ? being notified on the day of a scheduled appointment of JES personnel?s non-availability to inspect the questioned areas of the Poly-fill job; ? JES personnel calling on a scheduled date to arrive late; ? not receiving promised update calls and only obtaining any status of the uncompleted Carbon Armor job via another JES employee who agreed to call the call the home office to inquire while on property; ? the failed first scheduled inspection of the Carbon Armor job by the JES subcontracted third party certified inspectors due to JES not meeting their own engineering requirements; ? receipt of phone and email requests for final payments for non-completed jobs (three times); ? JES personnel arriving and waiting on premise for unscheduled appointments? notified by voicemail upon arrival home from work, and a second time after having notified JES that no one would be available during a defined period of time(out of country); ? after specifically stating that we would no longer coordinate with the current JES scheduler we were directed to another individual who would contact us only to find several weeks later, when we finally contacted him, that he was supposedly not aware of any issues; ? the second failed inspection of the Carbon Armor job due to no changes from the original noted issues ? no communication from JES to the inspector to discuss the possible acceptance of the current job, only a request to re-inspect; no JES employee had ever returned to the property to make any corrections since first failure. On 6 February we were forced to cancel and reschedule our hoped for last appointment of 8 February due to work considerations. During that call we asked for and were informed that the individual we were previously directed to work through, and had, was no longer employed by the company, but either the replacement employee or General Manager would return the call. Until the receipt of the latest (third) final payment request for a non-completed job on 07 & 08 March, the only communication received from JES was from the General Manager (whom we believe to be an individual we have spoken to in the past but were unaware of their position)responding to our ?no monies forthcoming in accordance with the contract? email offering 25 March as a possible completion date. Once again due to on-going work schedules we were unable to confirm anything at that point in time. On 24 March JES called to verify yet another unscheduled appointment. On 29 March an email with an attached letter explaining our discontent with JES was sent to numerous management level JES employees, the third party inspector and JES salesman. The salesman responded within 30 minutes stating that he was unaware of any issues besides those mentioned in the phone messages we had left over the previous months ? failed inspections, our unavailable dates, show ups for unscheduled appointments, etc. His response claimed that he would immediately contact upper management that day and ensure the project was resolved. No other responses were received. On 7 April we sent a follow up email to all the same individuals noting that another week has passed since the salesman's response and there had still been no further communication. It wasn?t until 11 April that we receive a follow up email from the salesman claiming to have just spoken to the office and that we would receive a call from them that day. Today is 21 April ? we have heard nothing further from anyone. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT HIRE JES CONSTRUCTION LLC! Our rating of D vice F is due to the employees doing the actual labor on the Poly-fill job. We were very pleased and impressed with Steve Garrett on his two required trips. Steve is informative, pleasant and professional - an excellent representative of any company. We would have no hesitancy in recommending Steve, not JES, for a Poly-fill job. As of 21 April, the Carbon Armor work is still incomplete, failed inspection notices remain taped to the front door, the workroom is a mess, a large hole continues to adorn the stairwell wall, and we have heard from no one. We repeat ???? DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT HIRE JES CONSTRUCTION LLC!

Terrible!!!! When I came home and I did see where the floor in the wall no longer had the big separation. However to my horror I discovered serious cracks in other areas of the home as well as the whole wall in one of the bedrooms was blown apart look like dynamite went off or an earthquake hit it . There was also cracking in the upstairs as well as Ceiling cracks. Cracks everywhere These obviously were not there before. I got in touch in the foreman who was very nice and most accommodating assured me they will be out the next day to take care of problem. In the meantime we also discovered that they had nailed wiring from our furnace causing damage to the unit. Which resulted in no heat. I was told the reason for the severe cracking throughout the house and other problems was they had jacked the floor too high from the basement and dropped it to quickly causing a big mess everywhere else. They did pay for someone to come and do all the drywall repair as well as fix the HVAC. However since that time a lot of the cracks have reappeared . the HVAC fortunately is still fine. In addition I had to have their work redone. All they had done was create a frame like structure in the basement with a couple of incorrectly installed metal poles. The wood was cut crooked hammer crooked and it was starting to split. They did come back the next day make some repairs to the poorly built structure but they were not the greatest repairs. There are still two metal poles that they put out that I'm afraid to have anybody touch as they are just balanced on a piece of wood and I am scared if their touched it will cause more damage to my home It was also inot up to code. I recently sent the owner Mike an email expressing my disappointment and heard nothing back. If feel he should have at the very least emailed me back and apologized . I did not have trust in Abbey Construction to have them back a 3 red time so I had the whole thing redone by another company who had to came in and installed metal peirs set in concrete Not only was I out $5000 I had to pay someone else to fix it.

AMC911 Foundation & Waterproofing Repair Systems
Found an advertisement in the newspaper for AMC911 and
decided to have someone come out to give me a quote on installing a vapor
barrier and new insulation in the crawl-space of the home I?m currently
renovating.  Home was built in 1988 and
the crawl space never had a vapor barrio and the insulation that was in place
was falling apart.  On the scheduled date
and at the scheduled time Mr. Eric Zidenberg arrived and inspected the
crawl-space with me present.  I explained
what I wanted done and Eric listened to me and prepared a detailed estimate and
quote.  I appreciated the fact that Eric
did not try to pressure me into anything and told me to give him a call if I
    had any additional questions.
I should note that previously I had two other companies
inspect the crawl-space and give me estimates.
In both cases the estimates were extremely high and there was a lot of
high pressure trying to get me to have more done than was actually needed and
of course they wanted me to sign the contract immediately.
Later in the evening, after discussing it with my wife, I
emailed Eric and suggested a few changes in the statement of work in the
estimate.  I finally sent the email right
before midnight expecting to get a reply from Eric the following morning.  To my surprise I received a response in less
than an hour and we agreed with my proposed changes.  Three days later Eric and a crew arrived on
    site to begin work.
Mark was in charge and assisting him were Marcos and Moises.  It was apparent that Mark was an expert and
knew what he was doing.  Mark not only
supervised the work but he was in the crawl-space with Marcos and Moises doing
    the work.
My expectations were exceeded and I am thoroughly satisfied
with the results.  AMC911 is a great
company and they know what they are doing.
I would highly recommend AMC911 do any crawl-space work.
    Sincerely, Rich Mehochko

    JES Foundation Repair
They were very professional. They came out and gave me a plan for what they are going to do. They also provided a brochure for their services. However, they seemed a little pricier and they seemed a little slick. Furthermore, they use a different technique. They do not use helical piers, they use bush piers, but I preferred helical piers.

They did an excellent job. Once they were able to start the job, they were very quick and it took only two days for them to complete the job. They excavated, installed the brackets of the foundation, and the helical peers on the first day and they raised the foundation a little bit before they filled back the hole. The front loader they used had rubber tracks, so it did not damage to the lawn.

Michael was very flexible on times for coming out to look at the cracks in the foundation. I called to discuss times, then ended up having a morning commitment that prevented me from calling early the next day. I called around 2:45 and he arrived at my house by 3:45. After examining the cracks, the determination was made that they were non-structural and that there is nothing that Abby Construction could help me with. However, he recommended a waterproofer who could do what was needed. We are taking that recommendation to complete the repair.

    JES Foundation Repair
Arrived promptly for estimate.  Very receptive to negotiating price and scope as met our needs.  Started exactly as scheduled and completed the job within the scheduled time.  Completed excavation so that there was little visible disturbance once backfill was complete.  Provided patch for small area of asphalt driveway which was disturbed at no added cost.  I was surprised at how little disruption we had inside the home while they were completing the foundation work.  A very professional firm who did an excellent job.  They will return twice to make adjustments as house settles following initial work.
