    Premier Arbor Services
Scott and his crew were amazing. From start he was very speedy in returning my phone calls. He was able to get out to my house after a large wind storm that had knocked down many trees within 2 days. The work that they did was perfect. I've honestly never had a better experience with a contractor! I would recommend Premier Arbor Services over and over again.

The guy was nice. He had been doing assessments for years. I told him about the mold issues that needed were remediated. Explained now we need to assess the why it happened. He looked over inside and out. Took 10 minutes. He said, he could not smell any mold and that everything was good. Nothing needed to be done. Two day later I found two leaky windows with mold in the wall under them. An entire wall full of mold in kitchen, and the brick at the corner of home was missing a 4ft high by 2ft wide corner. Exposing the entire foundation and heating board. Water had been rolling into the walls of the basement. The front of the home was on a negative grade as well. Not pleased at all!

It went well - we really liked working with Justin.  Our driveway is gravel, and it's steep.  It has always been a challenge - we called Justin's company because we thought if he knew how to handle water he could grade the driveway in such a way that it did not rut and wash the gravel away.
Justin proposed a plan that we were good with.  The biggest surprise was that the plan changed - and I was not aware - so I was surprised when it was completed in such a way that did not match the expected plan.  But it has worked well, draining the water, which was the goal.
The work was done exactly when expected and did not take too long to complete.  We did have to purchase additional rock, which was also not part of the initial plan, and that was a separate transaction - early on we did not think more rock was needed.
We were so happy with Justin's work that we've had him come out since and smooth the driveway again (as I said earlier, it is a constant challenge - the UPS and FedEx trucks brake on the hill and it makes a mess).  Justin is responsive, easy to work with, and reasonable.  We would definitely use S&S Landscape And Water Solutions again!

Justin was extremely knowledgable about his work and as he looked over our yard, it was very clear to us that his recommendations were right to fix our wet basement and yard drainage issues.  His estimate was reasonable and detailed; we felt comfortable with the cost since we knew where the money was going to be spent toward our project.
We scheduled a time to have the work done, but based on weather, Justin suggested we move the date up to allow a safety buffer around the work.  It?s good that he did; when built, our house was never sealed properly against water and was missing the drain tile and window well drains that should have been in place.  As Justin and his crew discovered this, the scope of the project expanded slightly from what was originally estimated.  This was completely understandable since this could not have been known before the house was uncovered.  Justin and his workers discussed and evaluated a few possible courses of action and we agreed upon an updated estimate for the expanded scope of the project.
As the work progressed, the problems resulting from the improper preparation of our foundation became increasingly evident.  They worked hard to overcome each obstacle that the house presented and to ensure that the final work was done right this time.  They brought in extra equipment as needed.  Time for the project expanded due to excessive moisture in our walls and extended drying time needed.  The 2-3 day project took 5 days and overlapped a weekend.  Justin and 2-3 others worked hard every day and sacrificed their personal and family time to ensure that our house was properly sealed before the rain came on Monday.  He did not change the cost of the project as the time required ballooned - he stuck with the estimate we agreed upon.  He completed the project as agreed and even went beyond the scope in re-grading our yard and removing brush that we wanted gone.
The day after the project was completed, it rained and I went down into our basement.  It felt dry.  The air felt dry.  There was no water in the window wells or pooling against the house outside.  It is definitely clear that the work was done correctly and successfully.  These guys really went out of their way to make sure that we were fully satisfied and happy, and that the work was done correctly, completed in a timely manner, and at the agreed cost.
I am so glad that we had this work done by a great company.

    A&M Septic Service LLC
Cold not find a provider to pump our car wash tank.  After many calls to various septic service companies that do not pump car wash tanks, finally came across A & M Septic Service.  Upon calling them was glad to have found them as our tank was in dire need of being pumped.  Upon leaving a message Mike was quick to return call.  We scheduled our service and they showed up promptly at the agreed time.  Very professional and will continue to use them in the future.  Highly recommended and happy to be their customer!.

    Davis Plumbing & Heating Inc
On Friday morning at 9am, I got a call from the tenant in my rental in downtown Fredericksburg that her upstairs toilet wasn't working. She'd tried plunging it, but without success. She said her house was starting to stink and asked for us to get someone over their immediately. I checked Angie's list for a vendor with an A rating and found Davis Plumbing and Heating. I called and by 10am, Sean met me at the door to my rental property. WITHIN AN HOUR. When I remarked at how amazed I was at their response time, Sean said they try to come as soon as possible and of course, sometimes if they have appointments scheduled, it takes longer - but he was glad to be able to come as soon as he could. He told me theirs was a family owned business and I really liked that. He told me I talked to his Grandma, Pat, when I called to make the appointment.
Within in seconds, he snaked all the way down our pipes to the mainline and pulled up wads of wipes. Sure enough, their on the back of our toilet, was a container of wipes that our tenant had been flushing. Sean said they respond to a lot of backed up toilets for wipes. He made sure to get them all and tested our toilet with regular toilet tissue several times to make sure it was working. He cleaned up all drops of water and any mess and left the bathroom as clean as he found it.
For years, we've used a hodge podge of plumbers for our rental property (and our own house) - we'll be sure to call Davis from now on!

    American Tank Cleaning Inc
Fit me in the day after I called since it was my day off. "TL" called before arrival, and was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and competent. He quickly located the cap 6" below the surface with a metal detector, dug up only what was necessary, and cleaned up afterwards.

    Basement Detective
Very smooth with this contractor.  They came out immediately to diagnose my moisture problem, including inspection the inside and outside of my home.  Mark determined my problem was that moisture was building up between my garage wall and basement wall, causing it to make its way into my home.  He explained how this works and why I was seeing moisture exactly where it was appearing.  They had to dig a trench in my concrete slab in the basement all around the portion of the basement that was below grade.  They installed all the stuff that goes with the trench- screen, rocks, etc..  They also dug out the well for the sump pump, installed the pump and PVC pipe to send the offending water outside.  They then patched the trench over with cement, installed the well cover, and it looks flawless- really beautiful work!  Mark checked in with me after to make sure I was happy.
And then.... when I thought I saw moisture in the basement about 3 weeks later, I called them in a bit of a panic.  Anthony grabbed a plumber and they were at my house within two hours!  It turned out my house water filtration system's flush hose was no longer (for whatever reason), attached to the drain and so water was getting on my floor.  So it had nothing to do with the pump or diagnosis.  But the point is they came immediately when I called and were super, super nice when we all realized it had nothing to do with their work. :)  And the plumber noticed I have a hot water heater (newly installed) that is not up to code- yikes!  But that was a bonus to find out about that.
In short, good people, good work, and I would use them again for sure.

I highly recommend them.  Previous culvert pipes failed and stream came out of bed in heavy rain, destroying much of driveway. I tried five other contractors to get quotes.  J.L. Kent were most responsive.  Professional, on time, kept to the cost they quoted plus were able to accommodate additional needs that arose.  Estimator Robert Mitchell was punctual, professional, and quickly provided a detailed quote. The site supervisor David Ellington and shovel operator John were friendly, honest, and easy to work with.  They limited how much new rock I had to buy by incorporating existing materials.  They were very understanding of our need to keep within budget.   The price may seem high but it was big job and we definitely got our money's worth.  It now looks great!

From the start things were not well. He was a complete amateur in way over his head, but not realizing or not admitting it. I got several estimates on the work and the price was average, I went with him, why, I do not know. He estimated a day and a half maybe two days to complete the work. It had been raining for weeks prior to the start of work, I asked if we should wait, he insisted it would be fine. He promptly got the backhoe stuck, twice. This was in my opinion a job for a dozer but he's the expert, or so I thought. I asked him to dig near a power pole, and he was not comfortable doing that he said, even though the power company lineman was standing there as well asking for it to be done. He had difficulty operating the machinery. He said he was used to a 2 lever backhoe and this was a 4 lever, so we wasted a half day while the backhoe was exchanged. He then proceeded to adequately fill in the hole but not much else was done to my satisfaction. After almost one month of on again off again work, he said he was "about done out there". At one point he said he could not work on the property because he had to be at the barber shop. I was not aware he was in business part time. He hired a subcontractor without my knowledge or consent, I did not like that. I paid him off and sent him away, I had to hire someone else to finish the job. When all was said and done, I asked him for the money back I was out to have the job done correctly and he said I was "playing him for a fool". Bottom line is I think he was in way over his head, failed completely to get the job done, and took the money anyway. His dad was nice but that's all he has going for him. Hire him at your own peril.
