Tech showed up on time, called ahead & effectively completed the repair. My wife was comfortable with the techs demeanor & the company was nice to work with for scheduling & telephonic followup.

The ice maker was replaced but frosting began again almost immediately and ice is small and crushed rather than cubes. The technicians didn't listen to me about the problem. Their computers wouldn't take credit cards or produce a receipt. After calling to complain I got a generic receipt that did not indicate the part or the warranty I was told I have.

The service technician didn't show up, I called to check up and was told the appointment was on 27 December rather than today, 12 Dec. I am shocked this happened as I got a call yesterday to confirm today's appointment. They offered to "try to get me a sooner date", but their system wouldn't let them. This is why Sears is failing all over the country! No service on promised date without letting someone know is the kiss of death. I wont be using them again.

My original appointment was set for a Wednesday, 8-12pm. I got an email confirmation for that day and time. Then, a couple hours later, I got another email- but rescheduling my appointment to another day/time when I wasn't available, without ever consulting me first. I wasn't happy about this because I had to reschedule and the only day I'm available (other than the original appointment time), was my only free day- Saturday. My appointment time was 8-12. I got up early (on my one day to sleep in) and waited. I cancelled/rescheduled plans to make this appointment time/day work. By 12:45, having not heard anything from my contractor, I called Sears to ask what was going on. I was put on hold so that they could contact my tech... I was told that my tech would be there in another 30 minutes to an hour. 1 1/2 hours later, I called again. I was again put on hold and told they were calling my tech. When they came back on the line I was told he "was almost there." So... I waited. I was watching my Saturday drain away. I called again at 2:51pm. LIVID at this point because I'd clearly been lied to several times by this point. At this time, I was told that dispatch was going to be calling me directly because they weren't sure what was going on because "my tech" hadn't been to any appointment on time (at all?) that day and so they were going to call him and then call me back in 15-30 minutes. They NEVER called me. I finally called them back and told them this was the worst experience I've ever had with ANY service company in my life and that they were fired. I filed a complaint with a supposed supervisor who promised he'd be writing up everyone I'd spoken to that day but I told him I didn't care what he did... it wasn't going to make my experience any better and I'd NEVER recommend their company to anyone. In an 8 hour span, I missed all of my plans for the day, had multiple people from the company lie straight to me about "my tech," was late to evening plans I was volunteering at and still have a broken stove!!

The refrigerator was new and it was still under warranty, so it was covered.  He figured it out and was very knowledgeable, a young guy.  He was friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful.  I have no complaints about their service and no negatives on the issue of punctuality.

It took two visits from technicians to get the refrigerator repaired. The first came out and did only a basic analysis of the potential problem. It was over a week before a second technician could come out to make the actual repair. Meanwhile I had a refrigerator that was just barely working for 2 weeks. The second technician was very good. He identified the problem very quickly and repaired it efficiently. My main complaint is it just took so long to get the work done.

I specified the times I would not be in the office. That's when they showed up. I wasn't on site, so can't speak to professionalism. Repair would be more expensive than a new fridge, so only charged for a service call.

We have a five door fridge and the bottom drawer holds the ice maker it was freezing. The first guy that came out in October thought they had to replace a molding piece it turns out it just needed warmed up and fixed . The first person said it was broken, the second guy said no it just needs warmed up and boom it was fixed. Half of them knew what they were doing the other half didn't.

They can improve by having the more experienced repair men train the less experienced. They also need to be able to call back sooner, I was left in the dark for two months and finally had to call back I left messages and it wasn't until the art came in that they called me back.

The only thing that keeps them from a failing grade is that the guy that knew what he was doing fixed it. If you don't have to replace a part is better, keeping the original part is better.

There was a lot of lack of communication.

I gave sears the model number and what needed to be replaced so they could have the part when they came out to replace the gasket. The technician did not have the part it would have to be ordered. He ordered the wrong color gasket. black instead of bisque. He then told me I could change out the gasket when it came. He gave me the instructions. The reason I called to have some one come out in the first place was to make sure I would recieve the correct part and it would be installed correctly as we were getting ready to sell our home. I called sears and talked to one of the sales people and ordered what I was the correct part. I recieved the part and replaced replaced the gasket. Lesson learned check with your neighbors that do a lot of home repairs. If I had known how easy it was I would never called for a technician to come out.
