AI absolutely love Becky’s Pet Care. They are so great with my 4 doggies (yes that is right 4!) They send me emails with updates and may forget to send a photo every now and again but always keep me in the loop and call back almost immediately if I leave a message or a question about something. They even help get some of the mess my poor doggie made due to him not feeling well. They are the best priced option and the doggies all get to stay in the comfort of the home. I don’t know why more places don’t offer something so amazing! We will ALWAYS use them when we head out of town!!!

ADog likes going there. Gets excited to go in and anticipating attendant coming out to get her. Gets excited when she sees me packing up her stuff to go to "sleep-away camp" when we are going on a trip. Equally happy to see us at the end of either a daycare or a boarding period. Other dogs seem similarly comfortable coming and going. I figure the dog knows if it's a good place or not. Few employees stay for long, but so far, most of them have seemed to have gentle manner with the dogs. There's no doggie cam, but again, if the dog's happy, things must all be fine. Dogs are crated for an afternoon rest period and at night for boarding. They do get short walks during the day, in addition to an outdoor play area.

Veterinarian Hospital
Recent Review:
AI followed Dr. Learman when she started her own practice in 1999. Her care and concern for her patients shines like a halo around her. The other doctors and staff are equally caring. The hospital has many accreditations and Dr. Learman practices alternative medicine as well as traditional. Sometimes appointments can run a bit behind because of a previous more complicated problem or emergency. This is balanced by the knowledge that I know if I need the extra time, then I will receive it also. The staff keeps you apprised of such events and does their best to alleviate any issues involved. Their pricing is in the moderate range. I cannot say enough good things about this practice. If you want a veterinary hospital that is focused on the overall well being and good health of your animal , this is the place to go.

AI love this place. My mother, who lives in Maryland, is no longer able to take care of her cat (Babe) so he has become my cat. I needed a good groomer closer to me in Northern Virginia, several were suggested by our new Vet, including Olde Towne Pet Resort. After reading a number of online reviews for several groomers on various websites I decided to try Olde Towne. So happy I did. So much information is available on their website including links to video tours and interviews by local media. After filling out the online form for our first visit I sent several questions via email, it never took long to get a reply. You can even pay an additional $20 if you want expedited service, which meant a grooming visit which took 3 hours or more at other groomers only took 1 hour, and Babe (a white Persian) looked beautiful. He was also very calm when I picked him up so I know he was treated well. From the moment you enter you do feel you are at a very special resort for pets. The lobby is large and very nice with a play area for pets. The entire staff is professional, courteous and obviously want to ensure you and your pet are happy. I don't have a need for anything other than grooming at this point, but they are a full-service resort for dogs and cats offering boarding, day camp and training. Their prices are fair and reasonable. I definitely recommend Olde Towne Pet Resort.

AI called on very short notice needing boarding as my normal sitter wasn't available and needed to leave town on emergency. Paradise for Pets was accommodating and friendly, and seemed genuinely appreciative of my business (and I hope I made clear how appreciative I was of their taking a new client.) Upon arrival, the dogs in the outdoor runs were clearly enjoying one another's company and in good care. My dog ended up staying 2.5 days (a day longer than I expected) and was clearly in good spirits when I arrived.

AGinney is an outdoor dog due to my daughter's allergies. Don't be judgement when you don't all the facts. All we need is a puppy cut to keep her cool in the summer, no toenail trimming, no anal gland squeezing. Like us, she's happily no fuss and low maintenance. Finding a reasonably priced groomer that understands this is hard, especially since they want to charge for all the high end services. Ginney has a very nice dog house with a front porch and ceramic covered heater. I even handmade her winter dog bed from a microfiber beach towel which I refill with cedar shavings because they repel pests, dry quickly and the bed greatly reduces fur matting. I dump out the shavings, wash the towel and save it for next fall. She enjoys regular long walks and is more loyal than most indoor dogs. Better yet, she may be 10 but she's as active and healthy as a 4 yo. She can run circles and leap walls around sedentary indoor dogs, manning the yard and chasing after her favorite chipmunks.

AGroomingvilleThey did a really good job! They knew what they were doing. The price range is AMAZING! The job they did, with that price honestly blew my mind because for the job they did, it would’ve been $90-$120 maybe. I got it done for way less! Honestly I will go from now on to their place.- K A.

APAMPERED PETS CURBSIDE GROOMINGDawn was great! A little bird recommended her and what a treat! I sent her a text and she was quick to respond. Within minutes we had a plan for her to come to my house. We talked about exactly what we needed for our little King Charles and she delivered. No more grinch feet! For anyone with anxious or shy pups--this is the route to go. He was ready to go after about an hour and a half. He even said goodbye to Dawn which is always a good sign. Highly recommend!- Lauren S.

AShroeder ShearingI’ve used Shroeder Shearing at least 2-3 times a year for the past 8 years. Twice a year she shears my goats and then a couple times a year she’ll stop by to trim their hooves. She always does a great job. Could I trim the hooves myself? Sure. But I value having an experienced shearer looking at my animals and offering advice or support. I’ve learned a lot from Anne over the years. She always puts the welfare of the animals first. Highly recommend her. I have a couple animals that are pretty unruly. She never lets it faze her.- David V.

AHorners Corner Pet SalonSeveral years ago, one of our neighbors who owned a labradoodle, mentioned that she had used Kelli Horner for years, and was delighted with her service and expertise. Not long after this recommendation, the groomer we were using became ill and would be out for a number of months, providing an opportune time for us to make an appointment with Kelli. On grooming day, I arrived at the shop slightly after 8:00 am with Cleo and some sample pictures showing what we were looking for (there is no standard grooming protocol for labradoodles). Kelli looked at the pictures closely, asked many detailed questions, and made notes on her client card. Needless to say, I was impressed with her desire to provide the grooming we were looking for. When Cleo was picked up a few hours later, she looked beautiful, and had clearly enjoyed her stay. (Well-behaved dogs are allowed to socialize). At this point, our labradoodle has had 23 groomings with Kelli, at 9 to 12-week intervals (starting 5/14/15). Kelli is an unusual groomer in that she keeps detailed notes on her clients, allowing her to produce consistent and exceptional groomings each time Horner’s Corner moved in 2018 to her current location at 370 Maple Avenue West, Suite #3, Vienna VA 22180, (across the street from Amphora); there is plenty of parking in the back of the building complex). We are so grateful that a labradoodle-owning neighbor recommended Kelli, and we have been so delighted, we recommend her whenever possible. Thanks Kelli!- William P.

DANNANDALE PET SPAOur dogs were dropped off at 9 am and were ready at 2:30 pm. They looked good but were lethargic and acted drugged and traumatized the rest of the day. Our youngest dog had 2 bleeding toes and three others with hangnails from the nail clipping, as well as a bothersome sore on his stripped tail. The next day he refused to walk and the sore developed into a hot spot requiring a vet visit. He is now on antibiotics and anti-itch medication. The front desk person wore a mask, but the groomers did not.- John W.

DCOLUMBIA PIKE ANIMAL HOSPITALI DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLINIC. I only continued to go because I am partially disabled and couldn't deal with starting all over with a new clinic. My kitty was elderly and just passed two weeks ago. I don't blame the clinic for his passing but dealing with these baboons was horrible. Example: my cat had several bad teeth that needed to be removed. I took him in for an examine, waited in the parking lot (Covid) and when the doctor brought him out I asked how many teeth needed to be removed, he said (wait for it) "I didn't look in his mouth, he may bite me" and I was handed a bill for $300.00 for the visit, vitamin and antibiotic shots. This is only one example, I could go on. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.- Katrina G.

AThe Pet Spa at Barkley SquareI was a regular customer of Barkley Square for several years. Then I starting taking my dog to a groomer that was much closer (blocks instead of miles) and less expensive (about 2/3 the cost). I noticed that the grooming wasn't as thorough and figured it was a fair trade off for convenience and savings. It wasn't until my Vet noticed that several of the promised services weren't being performed that I decided to start going back. Ultimately, my dog is healthier and I'm happier.- Robert T.
