We visited the ER for my 3 year old son who we believed had pinkeye. He was miserable and the pediatricians office wasn't going to be open for a few days. I understand that patients have to be taken in order of medical necessity, however, I watched many people being taken back with what appeared to be nasty colds/viruses. I don't understand why we had to wait over 2 hours to be seen. Then we had approximately 5 minutes in the room with the doctor and nurse and were released with eye drops. The doctor himself was great, but the wait was ridiculous. We will only go back if we absolutely have no other options.

I got really sick one time so I went to the emergency room. When I got in there, I gave all my information, but that particular time they never asked me if I was allergic to anything, since I was sick I didn't think about it. I am allergic to penicillin and they gave me amoxicillin, and they belong to the same family of drugs. I broke out, had hives all over my body from the neck all the way down and on both the sides front and back. I had high itching like crazy. That was the reaction I got from amoxicillin. They are supposed to ask me, whether they have the records in front of them or not. I went back there and they gave prednisone, it's a 4 day step down method, but the hives never went for all those days. I went to Dr. Weisman, he said they didn't give me a strong dose, so he gave me stronger dose of prednisone and in 2-3 days it was gone. It was a bad star for Augusta health. They didn't ask me at time whether I was allergic to anything, and that sticks up in my mind because it was unbearable. It was rough. It is the local hospital here. The only major hospital is 30 odd miles to University of Virginia hospital and its 60 miles odd trip, but it is only 20 miles to Augusta Health. I do go there, but I make sure they ask, if I am allergic to anything. Sometimes I need to wait for a long time but it depends on how many people are there because sometimes I don't have to, so the waiting time varies. They are pretty good at what they are doing. I hate to be in a waiting room especially in the hospital or anywhere else, because people are sick and that's why they are there. I am always afraid that I am going to catch something. The environment is not good, and I am not happy about being in any of those situations. I try not sit near anybody, and I go to a far corner. There is not much that they can do about it. They do have a place where you can go and sit away from the people. If there are few people they take you in right away. Then you when you go in and there are 30 people in the waiting room then you have to wait. Sometimes they get you into a room to examine you, and you have to wait for a long time before the doctors come in. You wait, wait, and wait. Sometimes I wonder when they'll come in or whether they'll ever show up. Even if there are few people in the waiting room, they do your vital pretty much right away, but once you go to the emergency room to sign in, they check your blood pressure, temperature and vital science and then they put you in a room and make you wait. Their bedside manner is not great, it stinks. Most of the time they did pretty well on the treatment , except for that one time they gave me amoxicillin which I was allergic to and they came back and gave me 2 doses prednisone to get rid of the hives, and they failed on that. And a couple of times they were okay. Once they tried to draw blood, they couldn't find the vein, they kept pricking me and I told them to forget it and they have one more chance if they don't find the vein now I am out of there and so I left because, they couldn't find the vein. Most times they are not good. The billing and administration was not bad, it was pretty good.

They are extraordinary. They are punctual and friendly and go out of their way to make you feel good. It's just a good place.

My wife did not have a good experience here. The administration is poor and they have a high turnaround of physicians.

They are the best workers I have ever had in my home. They are extremely customer-oriented. I would definitely use them again in the future.
