    We had several bids for the job. Young's paving was most expensive. Billy convinced us that he would do the better job. Several months later our driveway started to crumble at the surface in several large areas. I notified them. They came out two different times. Told us that they would take care of it. It's been over 2 years and they never did anything. It is slowly getting worse. One of his contractors came down our driveway by mistake a few months ago. I asked him about repairing our driveway. We didn't hear back since. We paid several thousand dollars more for the job

    The technician evaluated not only my immediate problem, but the perimeter of my home. He also examined my basement area underneath my kitchen. The problem was most likely inside my wall so a baiting was done to get the ants to carry the toxin to their home base. Problem solved! * Upon evaluation the technician found a dead mouse so he set bait for any future intruders. * Discussion pinpointed other areas of my concerns for future help. * I scheduled a follow up evaluation(s) at a lower cost.

    Holistic uses minimal toxins for maximal results and will listen closely to customer concerns--in our case children and a dog. The treatment is very effective. At any sign of trouble, I call Holistic and they come out and address the trouble. Our technician is well trained and knowledgeable.

    Valley Garage Doors
    Sam arrived when scheduled. Had springs with him and replaced the sprung one as well as the unsprung one. He discovered that our garage door was a lot heavier than the newer doors, so he said that he would come back with stronger springs for our garage door. The lighter springs were left installed so that we would be able to come and go through our garage. The next day he was back with the heavier springs and the cost remained the same. He was very professional and we would definitely call on his company again.

    Virginia Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning

    We called just for yearly check-up of our heat pump after seeing their sign for $49 check-up advertised in front of the building.  We spoke with Chuck and he said he would do it the next day and we confirmed the $49 price.  He sounded very friendly and professional at the time.  However, he never showed up the next day.  We called around closing time and he said he was too busy and would come the next day.  The house is less than half a mile from their shop and we would have a appreciated a call if they were not going to be able to do the service when we were told.  If this was the only issue, it would not have been a big deal at all.  Unfortunately it was just the beginning.

    Two days later he showed up and left a bill for over $300!  The bill was for the check-up, 1/2 lb Freon, replacing a switch on the unit, and 2 hours of labor.  We called him and reminded him they were only to do the check up as agreed upon and that we never agreed to any repairs or work he claimed they did.  After discussing it Chuck apologized and said that it was his fault and he should have asked before doing anything above what we agreed upon ($49).   We told him we would pay the agreed upon price of $49 and he became very angry and hung up on us.  We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and after speaking with the representative in Roanoke learned that this is a frequent occurrence with this company and they have quite a reputation with BBB.  Unfortunately we did not read any reviews before hiring them because we thought a check-up was a very simple, straight forward job.  We learned our lesson and highly recommend staying far away from this company! 

    We didn't hear any response for two months after paying the $49 nor did he respond to the BBB case.  Today we received a statement from the company saying we had a past due bill of $167.40    This company clearly has integrity issues and we will never use them again.

    I just wanted to let everyone know how impressed I am with all of the Michael and Son technicians with whom I have had the pleasure of working for the last couple of months while we have been making improvements to our newly purchased home in Fishersville, Virginia.
    Kevin and Nate (from Richmond)--the technicians who performed the encapsulation of the crawlspace.  What awesome attitudes!  Such a pleasure to meet professional, intelligent young men who take their job seriously and wish for the customer's 100% satisfaction.
    Robert Rhoades--Replaced well pump and tank.  Excellent, knowledgeable, and kind.
    Ricky Keyton--Assessed the plumbing needs of the house and barn and replaced whole house filter.  Super nice, knowledgeable and helpful.
    Joey and Derek--Electricians who replaced fire/CO2 alarms.  Super nice, knowledgeable, sweet!
    Brian--the HVAC guy.  Very knowledgeable, helpful!
    Allen--the HVAC cleaner from Harrisonburg.  Super guy.  Hard worker!
    If one is going to spend the kind of money we did (+ or  - $12K), it certainly helps to have the technicians be so friendly and willing to serve the customer's needs.  It takes an informed employer to find workers like Nate, Kevin, Robert, Ricky, Joey, Derek, Brian, and Allen.  Congratulations!  Michael and Son has exceeded my expectations--again!  You have a customer for life!

    The customer service was superior. Junior Ramsey is not only brilliant at his trade but he is also thoughtful and careful about how he performs his work. Every day he took time to clean the job site and prepare it for the next day. Whenever we had a question or change in plan he was patient and considerate and did whatever he could to accommodate us. Without a doubt he is one of the easiest person's I have had the privilege of working with.

    Randy Hudson did a great job of repairing/replacing a rotted deck post on my dad?s deck.  He was very good at assessing the damage and work necessary to correct the problem.  He was good about explaining the process to us so everyone understood what was to be expected.  Randy was very friendly and completed the work as planned and scheduled.  He also did a great job of installing new lattice for the deck skirting as part of the project.  I thought the price charged was fair and reasonable and we have asked him to give us an estimate to pressure wash and paint the deck and other house trim.
