    The work performed and the professionalism of the crew were excellent. The problem is the communication and professionalism of the office. I had an appointment for the installation on 06/13 in which my husband and I took off work to be here. The day before service, I texted my sales rep and he told me the appointment wasn't until the 14th, even though I have the text messages confirming that date of 06/13. I told him to scroll up where it shows my appointment was that day. He apologized for the mistake. The workers were very pleasant and did a great job. I contacted my sales rep to let him know my sprinkler heads need to be adjusted in a couple areas that were not getting enough water. He stated it will be taken care when the crew was in the area. Of course that never happened. I scheduled my Fall shut off for 10/20/17 and once again took off work for that day since they need to come inside my home. The lady from the office called me a few days ago to say that she needs to reschedule me for for 10/30/17 because THEY NEED TO SERVICE THE HYDRO-TECH OWNER'S SPRINKLER THAT DAY!!!! Are you kidding me?!?! So the owner's service comes before the customers'? I told her that was unacceptable and quite frankly an unprofessional business practice. She looked at the schedule again and stated they can come 10/24/17 instead but wasn't empathetic or apologetic for the change. This is the most expensive quote we got but went with them based on reviews. So far, I'm not impressed and unsatisfied with their service.

    Commonwealth maintains my sprinkler system to close it for the season and re open it in the spring.  I have always been pleased because they are great all around. Professional and competitively priced.  I do not hesitate to recommend them, call Tracy.  They also have a package/service contract? that includes winterization and re start and some service calls that seems a good value.

    The irrigation system works well so far.  I do not recommend buying the super duper RainBird control system as it costs more than it is worth.  That was my choice tho.  It takes too long to have someone come out to make a repair.  The lady that answers the phone at the office should not be allowed anywhere near a phone relative to talking with costumers.  The best that can be said for her is that her personality is that of a hemorrhoid, and will be the reason I will not contact Commonwealth Irrigation at the end of the warranty period.  I won't give her name but a comic strip detective character's name was similar.
    I asked for two Crepe Myrtle trees to be planted which was done, but in the most unprofessional manner possible.  They simply dug a hole and planted the trees.  No additional planting soil was included, and no mulch or working of the surrounding soil was performed.  Just a hole with the tree thrown in the ground.  This is not how a good landscape company would plant a tree especially considering how much we paid for it.
    If you want an irrigation system, then Commonwealth Irrigation will most likely give you a good one., but be prepared to wait for repairs, and just put up with the office phone lady.

    This is the second time we have used Commonwealth.  The first time was in 2008 in our old home.  Very professional staff from the folks in the front office to the field technicians. Rodney provided the estimate and the folks were out within 1 week after the signed contract.  The technicians arrived promptly on time in the morning and they were finished by late afternoon. Even though both my wife and I work, they stayed on the site to conduct a complete walk-thru of the system.  The cost includes winterization and spring startup.  Terrific company; if you are even thinking about installing a irrigation system, they are thecompany to hire

    The actual installation seemed to go pretty well. I was told that our water pressure was not adequate for the irrigation system and the we would need to add a booster pump ($350 not in the estimate). I was not home during the installation; however, my wife was. We did not receive any information on how to set up or change the control panel, but I figured it out. All seemed to work well. When spring of 2007 arrived, I immediately had problems with the booster pump and a sprinkler head that would not pump up. I made a service call and they came out to replace the head and booster pump. It cost me $150 for the service call and for them to replace the sprinkler head (I was told the sprinkler head had been run over). The fall of 2007, I winterized my system (it is very easy and not worth the money Rick Carney charges). Spring 2008 showed up and my booster pump is not working again and I notice water coming out of the ground (not even close to a sprinkler head). I make another call to Rick Carney and am told the booster pump is out of warranty and I would be charged another $75 service charge to come out since Rick Carney did not winterize my system and the water leak was most likely from a ruptured pipe. I decided not pay the $75 fee dug up the ground where the water was coming from on my own. I discovered that the issue was not from a burst water pipe, but from poor workmanship. Instead of properly measuring and cutting the PVC pipe, a modified T was snapped onto a full length and a hole was drilled into the pipe. The tee was never seated properly and had gravel in between the pipe and T (I still have the T and the gravel the prevented it to be properly seated and glued). As for the booster pump, I just unplugged it and ran the system without it. As required by Stafford County, I had my backflow tested by another certified back flow tester and learned a few more things about my irrigation system. 1.) My house has plenty of water pressure for the sprinkler system and the booster pump was not needed ($350 wasted). Additionally, Rick Carney installed a pressure reducer on my main waterline in the basement which affected the whole house. Based on recommendations, I cut the booster pump out (reducing the number of bends and increasing water flow) and removed the reducer placed on the main water line. All seems to be working well now, but I will never use or recommend Rick Carney Irrigation again.
