    Hometowne Garage Inc.
We've used Hometowne Garage many times since we've lived near Fredericksburg. Most recently we got a second opinion on work that needed to be done and had the work completed at Hometowne. Joe and staff are always friendly and helpful. The work is done well and at a much better price than the last place we were taking our vehicles. We're very happy with Hometowne Garage!

Fantastic, as it always does with Hometowne Garage. Joe gives it to you straight, and you can bank on his honesty. Service was done on old car (1997 Toyota Camry), and we have had no issues since the service was performed. Great job as always!

I purchased a car from this shop and was informed that it needed the bottom half of the motor rebuilt and was told it would take 2 weeks . It nearly took 6 weeks. Plus my car failed inspection a few months later due to other issues i was never informed of.

Very well. I found Joe to be open and honest in assessment of work to be performed. He also let me know the front sway bar link parts were fine and just needed to be tightened to pass inspection. Since Hometowne is a smaller garage, you need to be prepared to drop off the car and not have it for a day or two. The work quality is top notch and Joe is straightforward and honest.

Their price is very competitive. It took them 45 minutes to do the inspection. They were very professional. They recommended another procedure, but I explained to them I already had it done when I moved here.

We really like them, they are excellent. We take all of our vehicles there for any inspections or repairs. Sometimes they do the tires, they do rotate our tires. They are a one stand deal, family owned. We trust them implicitly.  I think they are reasonable.

If I could rate them 0 stars I would. Anyway I bought my 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback from Justin last year. He took an additional month to 'rebuild' my engine come to find out that only the bottom half was rebuilt, and it wasn't even done by him. There were other issues with the car that he neglected to tell me about. One of those being a hole in the top of the gas tank (so anything over 3/4 tank full it leaks). For one Justin does not have a license to be selling cars. Not to mention that when he sold me the car he never told me that he didn't replace the gaskets for the motor. As upon getting my vehicle inspected today 3/29/17 I was informed that my right fog light housing & bulb were broken even though they were broken prior to buying this vehicle. I have no battery tie down, not equipped when I bought the vehicle in the first place. The passenger side pump and rack are leaking, but as you his knowledge he claims he 'didn't know' yet his mechanics that were working in my vehicle told him and he neglected to take care of the issues. The left lower ball joint, right inner tie rod are also broken, again he claims he didn't know they were broken even though it was brought to his attention. The exhaust has a major leak in it, again he claims he doesn't know, and finally the E-break doesn't hold. For one I don't even use the E-break. In the last year I've put approximately 3500 miles on the car. Even though I bought the car a year ago there is no reason as stated by my mechanic that any of this should have happened, because I maintained upkeep on the vehicle. Not to mention that Justin sold me a car with 3 name brand tires and 1 off brand tire. Anyone knows that if the vehicle is AWD it's recommended to have the same tires all around, or you can blow out the differentials. As I was informed by the mechanic that worked at Justin's shop he felt the need to let the vehicle leave with all of these issues, knowing the vehicle had them. He said ' I don't fell like putting anymore money into the vehicle, so send it off as is'. So to me as a buyer that is going to turn me off, sadly I was only informed of that a couple weeks ago. So for that said i was screwed out of $2,000 from a crook. Big thanks to Justin for selling me a screwed up car, maybe you should look your vehicles over and not screw people so much!

    S&S Auto Repair
The service cost a fraction of what anybody else would've of charged me. I was stunned. I can't speak highly enough of him. I have been using him since I got this car. I haven't had any problems at all. He actually had the car ready a day before I had asked him to have it ready.

    Express Auto Service
They stand by their work! This was my first experience with Express Auto Service as I needed a variety of services completed as my vehicle just turned 200,000 miles and I am looking to get at least another 100,000 miles out of it before I purchase another. First off, they have a loaner car, and as a big guy, they had a full size loaner, so that greatly aided in the logistics of being without my vehicle for a couple days. The work was done in two days, which I think is very good considering the laundry list they were doing. Everything was done well and my vehicle ran great and rode much better with the new shocks and struts. The next day, there was an issue with my radiator, so I had to take the vehicle back by there. Ordinarily, this would be a great reason to give a negative review, but it is all in how a business reacts to these types of things that means the most. After a brief discussion, with Roger (very polite, knowledgeable and professional), Express Auto Service replaced my radiator, 100 percent free of charge...no parts and no labor expense. As Roger told me, "we stand by our work"......and that is exactly what they did. I will definitely use them again in the future. Thanks!
