  • It was a pleasant experience from start to finish. They did a fantastic job, their attention to detail is incredible. I could not be happier with the results. I would definitely use them again.

  • A&A Furniture Repair & Upholstery did a beautiful job bringing my chairs back to life and to their original high quality and style. They stripped the chairs down to the wood frame, replaced all the inner webbing and cushioning materials, then recovered them with an Italian brocade fabric, which I purchased separately. I was particularly impressed with how well they placed and matched adjoining pieces of the material in each of the chairs, as well as how the 2 chairs complement each other as a pair. I've received many compliments on them.

  • All the work was done on a timely basis and he met all of the

timetables he told us he would do.  He came with the first chair to show us how it looked before he went on to the other three tables.  He kept us informed on each step of the project to be sure that what he was doing was what we wanted.  We are very satisfied with all of the project with regard to price, quality of work, communication, and general deportment.

  • They were fine. Their customer service could have been a little better. The owner was rude, and I didn't enjoy my experience working with them, and I probably wouldn't go back to them. The service was fine.

  • Who knew finding the right button could be so difficult? the salesperson spent a considerable amount of time with me to find the right button (button material, size, color) for the jacket. She asked a LOT of questions and in the end, I got some horn buttons in absolutely the right color.

  • Mr. Distasio was recommended to us by someone whose house we visited. He had made a very nice window seat cushion for them, which is exactly what we needed.  WhenI called him, he offered to come by the house to look at the space. I was worried he woudl charge us, but he did not. He came to our house and gave us an estimate of how much the cushion would cost and how much fabric we would need.  Once we had the fabric, I called him back and he came within a few days to measure the space.  He made a pillow that fits perfectly in the space and delivered it at no extra charge.  He also put a zipper along the length of it so it is easy to remove and clean the cover. It looks great.
He then also gave us an estimate on repadding and reupholstering my parent's dining room chairs.  Again we purchased the fabric and then he picked up the chairs and delivered them reupholstered.  HIs work is excellent.
We were not in a big hurry on either job so I do not know the exact timing, but it did not take long to do either project.  Mr. Distasio is also extremely pleasant and professional.  He was very honest with us about the cost of reupholstering one of our sofas, and warned us it might be cheaper to buy a new one.  The day he delivered the chairs I was not home in time, so he left them anyway with my son and then came back later that night to settle our bill, without any complaint about having to make the extra trip.
Just for the record, he is quite informal in terms of quotes and invoices.  The quotes were verbal - but the price did not change when it came time to pay.  And he did not provide a written invoice until I asked.  Again not a problem, but just so you know.

  • Mel, the owner, was very friendly and responsive from the start. I didn't already have a fabric, so he came to our house to show us samples and to measure the loveseat. After choosing the fabric and agreeing on price, I paid for a third of the order and he ordered the fabric. Once the fabric arrived (about 3 wks later), Mel and one of his cutters/sewers came back to our house to get detailed measurements and more info from me about the style I wanted for the slipcover. About two weeks later it was ready and Mel came byin the evening to place it on our loveseat.
They did an excellent job. The slipcover fits perfect and has transformed the loveseat. The sewing is very well done, and they did a great job with the skirt and the welting.
It was kind of expensive, but it's worth it for the custom fit of the slipcover -- it stays in place perfectly. (The type of fabric you choose also affects the price, of course.) In addition, getting a slipcover was less expensive (and and quot;greenerand quot;) than buying a new loveseat. Plus, Style Rite's price was better than some other local upholsterers. I would definitely use them again.

  • I decided to use another company. He was a very pleasant man and I chose the other person because I liked his fabrics better. He seemed to be very good and the prices were comparable. He came to my house and showed me fabrics and gave me an estimate. He wasn?t as good as the man from the other company at examining the piece that needed to be reupholstered, but he was very professional.

  • I got quotes from two companies, both recommended by Angie's List. I wanted the color of the couch to remain more or less the same, but I wanted a stronger fabric. The estimates from the two companies were about the same -- expensive, in my book, but I think reupholstering is just plain expensive if you want it done well. Both companies came promptly to give me an estimate. I liked how the owner of PFD, who was very nice, inspected my couch to make sure it was worth reupholstering (apparently, a lot of couches sold in recent years are not). I liked his fabric choices more than those of the other company, so I chose him. The couch was back about two weeks later, and it looks terrific. He really did a nice job.

  • A preliminary visit to the shop confirmed that they could easily solve the problem. I brought in the cushion the next day, and thirty minutes later I had a plump cushion again. The price they quoted was reasonable, and the workmanship was very good.
