    Clarks Landscaping
Removed snow for my elderly father. Clark's arrived when they said they would and removed the snow quickly. Adam and his team are very courteous and respectful. Price was very fair. I would highly recommend them.

    Merlos Lawn Care
I called Merlos at 7:30 am about snow removal and expected to leave a message.  Instead, he answered the phone and had a crew at my house in about two hours.  They were prompt, professional and fair with their price.  We have about a 60ft long driveway and the county had pushed a big pile of snow at the end of our driveway.  They asked if it was okay to push the snow up against our fence at the end of the driveway where the gate is which I appreciated them asking about before just doing it .  They also cleared the car that was in the driveway, cleared the sidewalk and put salt down.  All of this was done in about a half hour.  I would definitely call them again for snow removal and am considering trying them for our lawn care maintenance this year because of the great service we received.

    Merlos Lawn Care
I am. A 67 year old handicapped person living on a coudesac in falls church. The current snow was too much for me and my wife to remove. I called merlos and. I was amazed to hear that they would be able to clear our walks, and. Around each if our vehicles. They arrived at my home in less than 2 hours from my call. The service was excellent. All areas that needed attention were handled. quickly and efficiency. In fact,. The snow plow driver should give lessons to the county snow removal drivers to show them how to remove the snow and not block vehicles and driveway aprons.

Veterans on Duty home improvement services

We could not have been more pleased with the fine service and excellent results we received today from Veterans On Duty. Our driveway is very long, around 200 feet. We had a foot or more of snow overnight that was very wet and extremely heavy. Our snow blower had died unexpectedly. What to do?

I turned to Angie's List, searched for and quot;Snow Removaland quot; and I found Veterans On Duty and gave them a call. I was immediately connected to Steve. I explained our predicament and he said and quot;Don't worry, I know your area and we'll be back there in an hour or so and stop by.and quot; As promised, Steve and Travis came by with their truck and sturdy plow, and they took care of our big snow removal job in no time flat.

They did a great job of snow removal and were very courteous and friendly. I really was impressed by their speed in arriving and sense of urgency to get here and attack the snow. The price was very fair for the work they did. As they left they even stopped to free up our trash and recycling cans awaiting pickup that had been and quot;plowed inand quot; by the roads department, a kind and helpful extra service.

We learned that Veterans On Duty is also a full-service home improvement and repair business, and we will definitely consider them for electrical and other work as the need arises.

I recommend Veterans On Duty highly and salute them for their great work today. Nice job!

Veterans on Duty home improvement services
As a real estate agent, I've referred him to many of my clients who have hired him for projects worth $100 up to $10,000. He's one of the few people that I recommend because he's honest, affordable, and just the nicest guy. He's professional, prompt, and high quality.

    1 Element LLC
1 Element is an attempt by Charles "Chad" Black to re-invent himself and "launder" his company (formerly operating as Virginia Gardens & Hardscapes (VGH) and a more recent name change and fail as Schwartz Industries. They won our business with a low quote, professional act, & pictures (their website & binder shown to us) of magnificent work (not likely theirs) completed on grand estates. The son (front man) played nice/professional until I signed the contract & paid half up front. After that, it was a nightmare. They claimed the project would be done in abt. 1 month but 5 months later, it wasn’t (never was). Random workers haphazardly appeared on site with little/no supervision & no necessary permits were acquired. All work needs to be torn out & redone. Independent engineers/county inspectors agree it’s the worst they’ve seen. These guys are concrete pourers masquerading as a professional landscaping company (regardless of the tale on the website). Month 1 of our project ended with little progress & then they announced a name change to Schwartz Industries. Concerning b/c: a) our contract & supposed lifetime warranty on the work was with VGH, b) why use Schwartz if real name is Black? Clearly an attempt to “launder” the old name due to # of prior upset clients/poor work. We had to chase after them for months for legal docs to prove our contract & warranty would stay valid. Polite inquires about project details, timelines, etc were met with hostile, un-businesslike response (bullying tantrum) from Charles Jr./Chad stating that we did not have the right to ask questions. This treatment evolved into hot-cold-hot-cold, game playing. The father took over as POC to attempt damage control but things did not improve. Son contacted us to admit he had forgotten a small, critical retaining wall in his design but demanded $1,200+ to correct it. When we protested, he used terror tactics and threatened to remove all workers/equipment & leave the huge mess until he felt like returning & at an even steeper financial penalty. We threw them half the money to get work moving again but this just reinforced their belief we were suckers and the games continued. Instead of proper patio top flagstone cheap, thin veneer stone (normally used for walls/indoor applications) was very sloppily layed (with huge, inconsistent spacing) further ignoring our requests & clear instructions provided early on. Repeated pleas for the spacing to at least be corrected, shakedown #2 came – tried to charge us a huge amt. to pull up & correct all the stonework they did wrong. We protested and they just moved forward, setting them permanently in concrete weather we liked it or not (but not even done right-all loose) Finally, sloppy (not to code) set of steps made of cheap, warped, knotty wood slapped onto the deck, refused to meet to walkthrough the project & they just showed up very early one morning, demanded final payment while standing on the still unfinished front steps. I refused to pay until an engineer evaluated the work. We had to contact the police a couple weeks later when they were found trespassing. Pretended to leave when asked to but not trusting them, I doubled back in my car to find their truck backed into driveway with the crew headed into my back yard. When police car pulled up they hurried back to truck and fled. BEWARE! Chad is operating under the new company: 1 element or element - www.my1element.com.

    Dream Lawns Service
They have only been doing my yard for 4 mos., and I am thrilled with the progress.  I have 5 very large oak trees in my yard, so there are areas that are 100% in the shade, very little grass was growing and moss had moved in.  My grass is the thickest and greenest it has ever been - even in the shaded areas; the moss has receded; the shrubs and beds look great; and the overall appearance is 100% improved.  I did not know my yard could be improved this much in this short of time.  I have people who are walking down the street stopping to tell me how good my yard looks.  I have no complaints on any of the work that has been done, and I haven't had to follow up on anything.  They deliver what they promise and exceeded my expectations.  I would 100% recommend Dream Lawns to anyone.  You will not be disappointed with this company.  I can't wait to see what it will look like next year! I believe my neighbors are going to be green with envy!

    DryHome Roofing & Siding Inc
I sent them an email yesterday, and they came out and found my problem before noon today. Now they need to get the skylight ordered to get it installed. I am waiting to hear from them. They are very busy, but their turn around time has been really good so far.

    Paragon Ridge LLC
2012:  2 years now that we have had the privilege of working with Blake and Brandon.  We couldn't have had better help to take care of our home while we are away.  They are extremely reliable, hard-working, efficient, responsive, responsible, honest and pleasant to deal with.   And I am certainly not the easiest to please and  like to work with the best, intelligent and sensible people and yes, they are all that. I could give several examples of how they have helped us during these 2 years and how much they have simplified our life when we needed help at the property while we were away.  Bottom line: They are above the best you can find.
    2010:
Going the extra-mile, knowledgeable, reliable, trustworthy, never miss a commitment and clean presentation. These are the qualities I've seen thus far in Paragon. They do an excellent job for us and we will work with them on a yearly basis.
